    Im huge tnf fan and im using only summit series and decide to try vectiv mid for all around hiking/city for days when rains or for winter walks to work and city, my first impression is they are fairly light , looks like running shoes not like standard hiking boots ( that is what I like a lot) very comfortable like ultra boost adidas. Great stability. For futurelight I can't say how good is it , my l5 shell keeps the job done but it's not designed for all day on rain or snow just for short amount of time. Vectiv waterproofing capability is good 👍 for not extreme weather if you want 100% protection 24/7 then buy nylon boots 😉. Over all good boots especially when they are with 50% discount. Try to size ! Buy them. For winter hikes im using la sportiva g2 sm or tnf s3k futurelight.

    Any concerns of the white color used in terms of them getting dirty on trails?

    • @rmkvisions
      @rmkvisions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've used them now on three separate occasions. Once while it was dry, once while it was snowy, and then once while it was very muddy. To me I don't really care about something getting dirty as that's kind of the purpose, the white has done a good job at staying decently clean. It is fully waterproof and a very abrasion resistant cordura upper which does a good job at shedding mud. I'd always say if you were worried about it to just spray them down a little bit after every hike and they should be just fine!

    I know it's pretty early on, but have you been able to get these on any technical terrain or in any kind of scrambling situation? The trail you were on looked pretty tame throughout. Just wondering how they perform when things get a little more dicey.

    • @rmkvisions
      @rmkvisions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have taken them out a few other times so far. One was a decently steep trail with a bunch of Ice/Snow mix and the boots were perfect. I was able to get a very solid lockdown on them which is always important when getting a little dirty. I am actually wearing them as I write this for a snowy/slushy day here in Colorado to get a since of how the waterproofing is! - Trevor

    • @rmkvisions
      @rmkvisions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure what you mean by fully waterproof but they have a 100% waterproof lining in the fabric which works extremely well. Obviously if you're in water above the boot it's not going to keep it out so - I guess it's not technically fully waterproof but for rain puddles etc this is more than enough I think. - Trevor

    Hey guys, I'm in kind of an eternal stroggle. Perhaps you could give some advice. I hear you talk about the insole and that there's no support. That basically you need to put your own orthotic in.
    But i'm really looking for a brand or shoe lineup for every day use in the summer which already has an increased arch, so that I dont have to wear the orthotics in them. For ease of use, and because the orthotics get quite hot/ are expensive. I have them in my gym shoes now. Theyre also often too high or whatever so the shoes i put m in are not fitting nicely at the heel. Since al midsoles differ in height.
    Feet are flat with fallen arches, causing overpronation, but with the orthotics they dont collapse. Theyre always flatter and a bit more pronated than neutral, but It's the best I can do. Reason i'm looking at trail shoes is because there's a lot of people advising on them for flat feet, like brooks adrenalin, hoka one one, or new balance fresh foam lineup . But I can't seem to find info on if these shoes would have a higher and more solid arch in them even without an orthotic. And to work under like jeans and a shirt.
    There must be ones that have right? So I don't have to put one in. And have a brand where I can buy shoes without the eternal struggle. The orthotics I have for every day shoes are the half ones, but my toes always get scratchy because after removing the normal insole, theres rough materials there. The materials shoes come with just seem to be nicer when having a sweaty day.
    I tried finding a new daily shoe for months now, but it's just not working out, often they look weird and squished in when I stand and put pressure on them, even with orthotic. And my main Nike defender mid shoes don;t have that and look perfectly normal. Lookin at trail shoes because they also look cool and theres ''focus'' on flat feet on some brands

    • @rmkvisions
      @rmkvisions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So there's no need to go for a trail shoe just to have more cushion and support. Hoka is a great company along with Brooks. I work at a running store part-time all you need to do is go into your local store and get fitted. The tough part is these shoes don't have arch support as I said in the video there is really no shoe that has a built-in arch again, because everyone's arch is different. Now these shoes have support built into them through the midsole being a highly cushioned and the worthwhile eva/whatever they use compound.
      There are also two types of shoes - stability and neutral. Stability shoes would be for if you pronated. There's added support on the interior portion of the shoe to help correct pronation. Neutral shoes are good for if you are a neutral walker or if you supinate.
      To summarize - spend money on a good shoe and then spend money on a good insole. Typically the shoes will be from $130 to $150 and a worthwhile insole will be from 40 to $60. I recommend curex insoles as I think they are the best in terms of arch support and weight.

    • @rmkvisions
      @rmkvisions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you overpronate you need to go get a stability shoe that will help a ton. The Hoka horahi or the gaviota would be my suggestions. I hope this all helps - Trevor

    • @richburmond6761
      @richburmond6761 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rmkvisions Thanks for the replies! So even with a stability shoe I can't get away without orthotics at all? I thought after reading a neutral shoe went well by adding orthotics and stability without orthotics. But I guess I misunderstood. Then i'll have to wait til the stores in the Netherlands open again

    • @rmkvisions
      @rmkvisions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only thing really orthotics do is give you arch support pronation can be much more than just an arch issue. It can be ankle angle or weakness and a few other things as well. Having a stability shoe definitely does not mean you don't need to put in an orthotic or insole.

      @@rmkvisions A h shit okay got it. I have been focussing a lot on walking correctly so im forcing my feet in the right form also on socks. But after a while you just cant really. Il try it in store with orthotics then :)
