I do not understand your argument. All I hear you really saying is you’re not willing to hustle anymore. A smart hustler is going to make money. If you can’t make your money selling video games sell something else. I love buying and selling video games that’s the reason I watch your channel I also sell a lot of things that I do not collect Antiques furniture electronics whatever will sell I will sell it I truly do not understand your argument Just seems like a lot of I can’t or I won’t or I can’t do it. You are right you cannot make a profit buying seven dollar games that are worth $10. But you can buy one dollar games that are worth $15 and sell them for a decent price. How hard would you work for your dollar?
Could not agree more. Dude's rant sounds more like wishful thinking/copium that hopefully would allow him to get one of his sought after games for very cheap. There are many people willing to grind and hustle to make things work or others smart enough to make cash without putting too much work. Which is possible, doing your research and sometimes with a bit of luck.
You have a great point. I’ve largely stopped reselling because I’m not willing to hustle anymore. I have a family and kids and can’t be running around all day for pick ups. Also, I’m making sure to not pick up anything that I’ll lose money on. The combination of these two things have led me to severely slow down over the past year. But you’re right, if you have the time and are willing to hustle there is still money to be made!
@@ergheiz83 Idk, selling things on facebook takes forever. I was considering ebay, but they closed my account. I think the only options left are apps or amazon.
Man, you're 100 percent right. This hits hard for me. I am have been frustrated, but now it is summer, and I am finding stuff more to resell. But through January to April, it was pretty rough. But for me, we have a 5 and 7 year old and work midnights so reselling is easier than getting a part-time job somewhere else. But great topic.
sounds like good news for actual collectors to find good games for a deal in the wild. less resellers means more opportunity for the average joe with not a lot of money to find a deal on a collectable game.
eBay fees are definitely crazy these days. You have to promote an item that is listed by many to get any exposure. 100 dollar sell turns to about 75 in the end after fees and promotions.
How would some of us access games if there weren't resellers? I don't have access to vintage markets, flee shops, or just good deals in my area on facebook market place, most resellers at least know the actual price of their items and sell at market value. Its nice to just hop on ebay and buy what I want. idk man
I see reselling as a bonus. I plant a seed and reap the reward later. I always look for big ROI items so I'm extra picky on what I pull the trigger. You have to be smart.
It's almost as if some people don't care if they make a profit. For example I'm looking at a copy of Gears of War 3 in box on ebay right now for $5.25 free shipping. Why bother? Surely after fees and shipping you'd be losing money or breaking even at best. It's confusing.
Because you bought a gaylord full of games for $50-$100 and it literally has 1000+ games in it. There are also cheaper ways to ship than paying $4, just most people don't know them. But for under $200 you can get a USPS permit that lets you ship a game or DVD for just a little over $2. So they are probably making $1-$2 off each game. Do that 1000 times and you just made $950.
Resellers who came in with a video game niche during the past few years only hurt themselves by not figuring out other categories that sell. Video games can be someone’s bread and butter but what are hot resell items evolves over time. Reselling is easy but only if you’re open to what you sell.
Yup you've gotta diversify what you sell. I buy bundles of a different variety of items all the time, there's plenty of low cost items out here to buy now a days.
I posted this the other day on one of your videos, but I got into reselling to build my game collection. I don’t do yard sales, just thrift stores and fb marketplace. So games are a rarity, even when I get them, I end up just selling enough to cover cost and keeping the rest. We end up just reselling other things like shoes, electronics, and clothes. I buy a lot of my games for retail price.
Went to my local store for the first time in years , got 3 psp games and one for free . Sounded good at first until i started talking to the dude, was super weird and made it feel more like a drug deal than dealing me a video game, Got home and noticed why , the one game didn’t work lol . I went back and basically tossed it back and said “keep it XD” don’t want trash laying around , gave me a copy that wasn’t trashed. Feel bad because i know the guy is probably barely paying his rent in the mall, idk why those miserable guys don’t bulk sell and call it off…. Wouldn’t be an asshole if i literally didn’t hear him explain to someone that “ he checks all of his merchandise unlike *blank* store “ made me chuckle when i got home with a broken game .
I’m not sure about where you live but in the northeast people are for the most part very educated as to how much things are worth. When you go to the flea market or Facebook marketplace the games are usually close to market value. Facebook listings even directly reference price charting. You can one hundred percent blame resellers for all this as well as games at thrift stores either being almost completely gone or over priced. No one is getting games for 30 to 50 percent of value here unless you make a one in a thousand discovery.
I’d rather lose money getting games into the right hands than have a huge stock of games that aren’t being played and enjoyed because other resellers are driving up the prices. I sell ncaa 14 for 20 if I can get it for less than that, for example.
I’m a collector and I have met a lot of resellers over the years. One thing they all have in common where I am from, none them owned their own house. What should that tell you? Not exactly a business to get into if you want to make a lot of money. That doesn’t mean you can’t be that 1% that make it big… but it’s slim to none. To me, the resellers market is too much effort for too little pay and a reseller can’t rely on always buying stuff cheap, because the more affluent people are about their stuff, the less likely they are to buy it cheap.
I would agree it's hard to "make it big" as a reseller. It's possible but it takes patience, hard work and commitment. However I disagree that home ownership is a definite measure of success. What is a mortgage besides debt, less flexibility and longterm commitment to a living space? One can do very well in life without those things.
For video games? Yah you're probably right, I stopped video games because other resellers were bidding everything up too high and working for free. Plus having knowledge didn't matter anymore, you just had to be at the right sale early with an ikea bag throw it all in and just price chart it.
Hate to break the news to you, bud, but reselling is booming specifically for video games! I think one thing you're not understanding is that some people would rather make less money working for themselves vs. making a little bit more money working for someone else at some job they dont like to begin with
I was about to say the same thing! I just became a part time reseller and it’s booming with games. Lol he must not know how to negotiate when buying an item lol.
Dude, what are you rambling on about? No one is going on E-Bay, buying a game, and then trying to flip it back to E-Bay. Is your premise that game prices are high because flippers buy up the inventory, creating shortages, which drive up price and then the resell? You made some comment that if resellers leave the market, prices will fall..
This is what happens when adults try to profit off children’s toys. They ruin everything. The kids of today will not have this problem, they don’t want this old junk now and the ones they play are digital. This market won’t exist eventually, hopefully.

To be fair, the seller's fees are a bit outrageous on some sites for everything from low to high sales. I think that is the point here.
Just wait until all these new resellers who don't save any of their money and have no business plan get hit with a big ass tax bill.
Taxes is what has prevented me from reselling.

Agreed I hate resellers I collect and use them it only hurts us.

Everyone says flee bay.... but I have found the best deals there lol and good condition.
I see reselling as a bonus. I plant a seed and reap the reward later. I always look for big ROI items so I'm extra picky on what I pull the trigger. You have to be smart.

Most of the money is made on Amazon not eBay. Games like Wii sports and Mario kart go for 50-60 percent over price charting.

I’ve been getting a lot of good deals lately. Like I’ve added some high dollar games to my collection this year. It’s been amazing.
I’d rather lose money getting games into the right hands than have a huge stock of games that aren’t being played and enjoyed because other resellers are driving up the prices.
I sell ncaa 14 for 20 if I can get it for less than that, for example.
The profit is at the purchase price & being committed to list list list.

I smell Boomer 😂

good, maybe there will be games and other stuff for us non resellers. Resellers/scalpers killed everything since playstation/xbox's came out!
Most us gamers just play on emulation via PC or just buy modded consoles
Maaaan I just got into collecting, mainly for the switch, and the prices are steep. I found some great prices on Mercari but those fees kill me lol.

Good, no price gouging.
Resellers suck so this is great news

Hell Yeah, let 'em lose money
I'm a collector first and I sell stuff and in done playing it or I want to trade for another game
Spot on.

I only buy xbox 360 video games that I want to play
Sounds like sour grapes to me
