Took some practice and experimentation on my part to get it to sound good and it was fun to finally work on this theme from my childhood (I played a lot of Halo back in the day. My uncle got me into Halo when this came out, and my love for gaming started from that point. He passed away unexpectedly recently and i always come back to this video to feel like i am with him again. We shared so many good times over that game, and this rendition is truly special to me

PS: I was looking to upgrade my beginner keyboard for something with a much better sound and came across a lovely P255 like yours. I snatched it up quick.

Listening and watching you play also helped me learn to play and arrange a version of my own as I had been wanting to do that; a few of the chords/notes and how they interact were a little tricky for me to pick up by ear alone. So the visuals helped, thank you! The way you play this piece is insane though, probably the most epic solo piano version I've seen, especially those runs back in forth with both hands 🔥🙌🏼
If sheets ever come out for this piece, I’m buying immediately. Truly amazing work. Brings back the nostalgia of my old room. Staying up late playing halo on the monitor that sat on top of my old keyboard. Miss those carefree days now.
As if you could play this.... Anyone capable of playing this piece could learn it without the sheet music. I've seen a lot of piano pieces online, and almost every time I've thought "I could play that given enough time". This just looks.... impossible. The precision and timing. It's insane! This piece is so intense I'm still not sure I can believe it hasn't been sped up. That left hand is leaping around with ridiculous speed and accuracy.
@@plukerpluck is someone mad they don’t know how to read sheet music? Not everyone is adept at hearing music then being able to play it. Most musicians can generally tell the key that a piece is in, and talented musicians can tell you a note when it gets played. Most musicians read sheet music. Good to know shit talking and jealousy still exists though 👍🏼
Absolutely fantastic. Something I’d love to see is Wind Dragon’s Tears from Rune Factory. It’s one of my absolute favorite songs from any game, and I never get tired of seeing new renditions of it, as rare as they are.
Not gonna lie but towards the end I was tearing up...I wish I was able to play this on the piano...all incan do is the opening part of Halo Wars' theme
Ridiculously good. It's hard to really express just how impressive this is. I'm not even sure I could successfully play the left hand alone. The jump you do from thumb to pinky on the E so you can hit the following chord (from 1:15).... I physically cannot replicate that at that speed.
Never having played Halo, I don't really know the theme tune. But by rights, Eric, your a bloody genius! It sounds amazing in its own right! Wish I had just a small amount of your fantastic piano playing abilities, keep up the great work!
