Return the boat with the backward skeg and swap the leaking seat and send it back with skeg boat. They ship from China with no USA parts, defective items are tax right off. Works better fir them to send you a new one. OFTEN On my returns they send new stuff before the old stuff even gets mailed, but you're on the hook if they say they never got it back. Keep your return receipts.
Well good to know about serene life boats. I was thinking all these boats looked alike...LOL thought you might have rented them...now I see that because of you three other people bought the boat WOW and they treated you like this. That is the worst customer service and poor quality control. Much like other warranties there is so much red tape...impossible tape...that people pay for something that is worthless. Great video! I hope serene life sees this ....hope they know that anytime someone is looking for a serene life boat review will see YOUR video :D
1) Rear skegs are like training wheels. After a few trips, ditch 'em. Save them for long crossings with a cross wind. 2) Front skegs are useless - maybe even dangerous. Burn them. 3) In the industry tandem kayaks are also called "divorce machines". It's even harder if you're moving from singles to tandem. Remember: 3a) All steering is done from the rear. After years of paddling solo, it's hard for the bow paddler to give up control, but the steering wheel is in the stern. 3b) The bow paddler sets the rhythm. I barely saw anybody paddling in that video clip, but if/when you do actually use your paddles it's the stern paddlers responsibility to match their stroke to bow paddler, not the other way around. If you're knocking paddles it's the stern's fault. 3c) Since the bow paddler isn't steering, the bow paddler gets the camera. Since it's easier to pass a cold beverage forward than it is to pass it backward, the stern paddler gets the cooler. 4) Leaning (or edging) is for traditional (sit in) kayaks or canoes. Skip it with the inflatable. If you MUST lean - lean back and smell the roses.
Lol. Deb and I have kayaked for a few years,,,,,each in our own boat. Most of the kayakers you saw in that video were first timers. Yes, very few were paddling. It wasn't a race down the river. Most were learning and enjoying the scenery at the same time. Why don't you share a link to your instructional video. 😉
We have a pair of Aire Travelers we can use separately or together with a frame. We’ve had them about 20 years. After about 5 years after we had we some threaded seam start to come apart because there was problems with the valve not releasing air as it was supposed to. When I went to the dealer with this problem he called the manufacturer and they asked if we wanted the same color as they replaced them with brand new ones. These had already been on many trips in remote Alaska when we got brand new ones. Sadly they have gotten real expensive. We paid $1600 each for them and now they are $3949 each.
A thought about their weird demands for customer service: They might not speak or read english. They probably have systems to translate the documents they're asking for if they get the documents in the format they are asking for. The reason their messages sound terse is because they are using auto translate programs to communicate with you. It really feels like they are being limited by their company's system; not just being obtuse for no reason. None of that changes how the average customer is reasonably supposed to do any of those things. But international customer service might be difficult if you don't have the resources for a multilingual workforce.
@@billanddebI agree. *If* this is what's happening a message at the beginning of your interaction explaining "hey we're using translation software to communicate; apologies for the extra steps you have to take..." or something like that would probably help in a lot of cases. But in the end: if customer service is lacking then customer service is lacking. With other options on the market the reasons customer service is lacking don't necessarily matter. I just find it's easier for me to be patient if I give the other person the benefit of the doubt.... if I can find one.
We subscribe to a copyright free music service called Epidemic Sound. The fee is about $17 per month. They have literally thousands of songs from all different genre and a huge selection of sound effects as well. Once you subscribe, you can download as many songs you want, as often as you want. We love it because we don't have to worry about copyright infringement on our monetized videos. Check em out. Simply Google "Epidemic Sound". It'll pop right up.
Even though our friends had issues, and the company itself wanted us to jump through a serious of hoops, we would probably purchase another, through Amazon, and then check it over real good before using it. If we found the slightest issue, then we'd simply return it to Amazon for a refund or another one. The boat itself has some really nice features, usually found only in much more expensive boats.
Repacking for shipping, hauling it to the shipper, and then waiting for the new one to arrive is a lot more hassle than just getting a new seat. There was nothing wrong with the boat, just a problem with one seat. In Our mind, we were actually saving the company money.
That is a lot of boat for under 300 bucks. It seems like you are expecting customer service like it is a high-end product when you bought a no name Chinese knockoff. The seat wasn't originally defective but I guess it failed over time. If it was me I probably would have just patched it and moved on.

Hmmmm, customer service should be customer friendly

Let the BBB know and also Consumer Reports and contact the government about marine products... also ... what if someone dies ?????
You did say “This is Ridiculous!” at least 9 times.
Repetition for emphasis.
Watched my own video again. Actual count is 5. Just a little over 1/2 of "at least 9 times."😉
How do you know when you have the right amount of air? How do you measure a pound of air?? Just curious.
The pump has a guage on it.
@@billanddeb Well of course. 😁 My stroke brain sometimes needs help.
The boat's valves also have the recommended inflation pressure printed on them. 2.5 psi for the side tubes and 8 psi for the floor.
@@DanielTaylorOCMD Thanks for the info. I used to know this stuff before my strokes. 😊☮️ I knew it would be something simple like a valve. 😁
How long is that float/river ride?in miles and hours?
About 2 hours. Around 5 miles. Nice float.
After researching, the Serene life is the one I like the most! any opinion ?

@@billanddeb thanks
Got mine today no issues yet. do you roll it up with the deflated floor in it ? also what seats did you buy ?
We tried rolling it up with the floor but it was difficult and actually made it bulkier.
@@billanddeb thank you
mine is coning Friday May 17th 2024
A SereneLife inflatable will not be in my future.
What river is that
Ichetucknee Springs near Ft White Florida
Gators??? 😋
We did see one gator this trip, but I didn't get it on film.
Why didn't you just send back the boat. and get a new boat .
