    Boy.. I can understand the prices of these top level components but the lead times are extremely depressing.
    Drug the ol lady out to watch this and show her there was someone spending more on the this than I am... didn't see any tears!
    Thanks for the video!

    Watching while having morning coffee with the wife again this morning. Very glad you didn't mention the price on the Borden actions 😢. Conversely, showing the March prices made my Nightforce seem like a pretty inexpensive scope 😂

    John, I see from the F-Open finals almost everyone is using Borden. What are your thoughts on Defiance, is Borden that much better? I always like the idea of Defiance having everything integral, recoil lug, scope base but I don't know why we don't see more of them in the finals.

    Now measure shoulder bump after each type of process. On thinner brass I get inconsistent shoulder bump with expander ball pulling the case neck instead of pushing with a
    Mandrel

      Yeah exactly. That why I haven’t used an expander balls for close to 8 years.

    Amazing video. I wish more F-Class shooters would share this info, like in the "What the Pros use" articles for PRS & ELR. Thanks for sharing your incredible experience and time-served knowledge. Do you think you could follow it up with a "What I've spent on my F-Class adventure" or "How many bullets, brass, barrels, actions etc used to date" video? It would help with explaining to the bank why I'm getting that 2nd mortgage.....
    Keep making great content. Much appreciated.

      I’m glad it helps. As for my reticle, I’m using the W1 reticle because I like simple reticles and the w1 is a simple crosshair with a target dot.

    Congrats on the win! I’m upgrading from a Trijicon 4.5-30 for 600 yard competition off a bench. Would you save for the majestic or grab the 5-50 tenmile if your current budget was 3k?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d say you’re smack in the middle of that decision. You have more than enough for the TenMile as it’s under 2k but need to save another thousand or so for the Majesta. You can’t go wrong either way and only you know your abilities and monetary thresholds. Many are in the boat of getting the TenMile and putting the other $1300 towards components to practice but if you feel you need just a little more in a scope then save up. But seriously, both are amazing for their respective price points so neither should leave you feeling like you made a bad choice as long as you’re honest with yourself.

I've added a section on the website here www.fclassjohn.com/what-i-use with the links to the three pieces that make up my stand. • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I know the G5 is a lighter stock and slimmer through the body. It's basically one long taper instead of the meatiness of the 5-7. Both should perform great, more of a preference than anything. He's great answering emails so I'd give him a shout and he can give you more answers for sure.

    • @FClassJohn

      I'll probably have to do a video because it's tough to explain and several people have asked. But basically I have the armanov block on the left side amzn.to/49N3HkK and then I modify the priming mechanism on the right side so it sits lower.

    John, how is the weight of the Dima stock compared to a ZR stock? My ZR is now pushing extremely close to the limit with the Majesta.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have the ZR anymore but they were always the heavier stocks I had so I'd have to believe most wood stocks would be lighter including Dima. That being said avoid heavy wood like purple heart, wenge and some other African or South African hardwoods because they're very heavy. Also if you want a lighter Dima I would avoid the 5-7 line and go with more of the G6 or G5 line as they are slimmer.

    My only suggestion is on your website with the links.
    This would be a royal headache for me. If the company changes the webpage where the product you are trying to link is located your link will die.
    Unless you know something about the web that I don’t and I promise you I’m not a IT guy at all. I just foresee this being a constant check and update.
    What I’ve in the past was just post the product and the supplier/manufacturer and let the user figure it out.
    But if you know a better way. Please fill me in.
    Take care John. I appreciate everything you do for us fledgling shooters.

    If you are going through 5-7 barrels a year, where are you getting Berger 180's to shoot that much? I suspect you and Cortina et al have an inside track to Berger that no one else has access to, because no one who is a regular Joe is finding 180s or 184s anywhere.

    • @RichHodyl

      Yeah, from where? 7 barrels shooting .284 is 10,000 rounds. So that's this year. Where last year could anyone order 10-15 thousand 180s? Or the year before?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're talking standard 21st or K&M I would definitely go with K&M for any number of reasons. If it's the larger 21st then you have decide if want to travel with it or not. The 21st have a larger level and plate so some people prefer the leverage but it's a bigger unit and the hydro unit could be damaged in travel. In any event, for my needs the K&M is my pick no matter where or how I use it.
