Calcium is one of the most important mineral required not only for healthy bone growth in puppy and dog but also for muscle contraction, body metabolic activity and nerve impulse conduction.
Calcium supplements is easily available in medical store from there pet owners can take it without the vet prescription.
They don't know exactly how Calcium react in the body.
Calcium deficiency and excess both are not good for puppy but calcium excess is gaining more hit now a days due to over enthusiastic pet owners.
Because of this, their pet suffers from hip dysplasia and other bone related disorders.
Being a vet, i tried to explain it in detail with simple language.

Good afternoon Dr sabh my 2month old puppy eat 50ml milk and 100gm yogurt 1oogm cook rice and 50gm pedigree daily now his 2 leg of back are like abnormal seen is it hypercalcimia?? He feel lethargic if after 2 min .

Sir mera lab 66 days old hai. Weight 6 kg hoga. Mai subah daily 3 ml multivitamin and 5 ml liver tonic deta hu. Dinner ne 2 eggs and rice deta hu. Subah Shaam ko pedigree pro and night me roti and boiled bones deta hu kya aur calcium supplement dena chahiye. Liver tonic aur multivitamin daily de sakte hain kya.

Sir, I have Rottweiler he is 14 months old his head, chest, stomach, leg all parts are healthy but his back portion is lean, he is 100% on home veg food, he eat Chapati, Rice, Curd, Green Vegetable i do not give him any supplement, i need suggestion from you to develop his back portion healthy.

Hi Brother, These are symptoms of de-warming. Same problem had with my 50 days old french mastiff. I gave her dewarmer now she is absolutely fine.Strongly suggest you to de-warm your pet once in 15 days.
