To be fair, it's not one actress performing as M3gan.. someone is the voice, the mask is mostly computerized.. but she is the BODY and moves amazingly. And the dance scene, best bit of the movie

@@dna3930 I saw that too. Very interesting. She's quite the little talent. She's the one with the slight head turns and subtle body language that makes the concept so freaky. I always laughed at the Chuckie movies, loved them but they didn't scare me. This looks like nightmares galore, and I'm 58!

David Prowse, nor Anthony Daniels or Peter Mathew were ever nominated, for an acting award ( please feel free to correct me if I am wrong), and they certainly brought their characters to life. In Mr. Daniels case, in nine films.
She really has the whole package. I think with Yoga, Zumba, ballroom and ballet, that mix is helpful to get in the zone. She found her flow so early, when it matters. What kind of sucks though is the sheer reality that you have to be a champion at like 6 years old or 9 years old. I recall that skating champ out of Canada said his first trophy was at six. Wild to contemplate.
Not surprising to me. Many famous athletes today stayed when they were children because you are young and agile. Even in gymnastics, they recommend you start as soon as you can walk
Amie did a great job! But so did Jenna Davis, who's not getting enough attention. Excellent voiceover work.

@@alexpalaciossantos4940 I think this girl is a bit too overhyped. She has skill but MOST of the moves were simple. Not that hard. The Arial flip was the most complex one. Her behind the scenes moves are more complex than Megan. Plus Jenna Davis is the VOICE of Megan she deserves credit too

What a lovely and funny little girl! She’s terrifying as that doll, but an absolutely magnificent physical actor, the running on all fours totally freaked me out. So did the amazing creepy voice over work by Jenna Davis! The hauntingly GOOD singing…EEEK! love that this has become such a phenomenon and that it took a team to create her, it’s a great movie, and will absolutely become a classic horror comedy on par with the Evil Dead franchise.

I saw the movie and it was phenomenal. It really takes a life like take on robots with little to no parameters set on them and how not giving clear instructions can be a deadly consequence. Definitely wanna go see it again.

@@lessismore8533 My "damn, she's talented" comment was in response to the things she has managed to accomplish by her age (national dance champion, brown belt in karate, contortionist). She represented New Zealand at the Dance World Cup in Portugal in 2019 when she was like, 8 or 9 and was the first New Zealander to ever bring back medals. The movie obviously doesn't display the full extent and range of her talents. And Jenna Davis has been credited, but clearly people are more impressed with Amie's performance as a robotic doll over Jenna's voice acting.

I think its the more lifelike movement that makes it creepier. Chucky is more comical, but when you have a realistic humanoid robot that's the stuff of nightmares for me. With the emotionless face to top it off.
The original child’s play was way less comical and is basically what made chucky an icon that still can’t be touched, but I agree with the sequels after part 2.
It's because Chucky is a human serial killer who transferred his spirit into a toy doll.
M3gan is a robot, which makes them totally different (altough in the horrible Child's Play reboot they made "Buddi" just a toy robot with a programming flaw).
Also, i don't understand why people keep comparing Annabelle to Chucky, because Annabelle basically doesn't do anything; she is just a doll who acts as a conduit for paranormal activity (and yes; i know the Annabelle doll really exists).
Talking Tina from the old school Twilight Zone is scarier than both Chucky and Megan.

When i heard that a kid was doing those dance moves and stuff, i kind of didn't really understand, because the moves were kind of very advanced. But now i see, the girl was unique for this character indeed. Congrats for Amie Donald, she certainly made the director's life a lot easier.
The movie is a horror masterpiece, she did a great job with the character & I hope they make a sequel

Not sure what media you are watching but Jenna Davis is being mentioned plenty of times. Heck some even mistakenly label her as the actor behind the doll.
In comparion Amie Donald is hardly mentioned in the press circus surrounding this film with the bulk of attention being directed towards Allison Williams, Violet Mcgraw & Jenna Davis with Amie Donald almost like a footnote.
I haven't seen the show yet but M3GAN concept is truly refreshing. The idea is in sync with today's technology.
Amie Donald is outstandingly likable (on top of her bevy of talents in dance, karate, contortion, and acting). Only a country outside the US could produce someone like this.
Meanwhile, US athletes still dominate Olympic events overall, Cheers.

The difference is her ‘likability’. New Zealand is far less commercial and superficial. Less focused on celebrity and social media. It’s more genuine.

M3gan was the best theatrical released movie I've seen in years. Im definitely buying it when it's digitally released. A movie I can watch again and again... I hope if they do a sequel, it doesn't flop like the majority of sequels do.

The movie was entertaining for what it was. Clearly it was going for the gender flip vibe on Child's Play and other AI run amok thrillers. Very much a 90s throwback too.

I don't know why so many people think she can't be in a sequel. Presumably Violet McGraw will grow about as much as she will, so they could have a plot where M3gan helps her character navigate middle school. They could make a doll to pretend to be her cousin and enroll in school with her.
