Swim Mom here, and my daughter began Syncro, aka Artistic Swimmimg, when she was little only 8 years old. What many people don't know is that these beautiful ladies begin when they are little. They train extremely hard for years. They work with coaches who have great skills and talent to bring out the best in each athlete. The kids work just as hard as the US National Team to be the best that they can be. Some of them are fortunate enough to be considered for better teams and move forward. They would amaze me as I sat poolside or at a great distance, so I didn't interrupt their training. I had the great fortune watching one Olympian who swam on my daughter's team in LaMirada, CA. She was special and it showed! I am so excited for Team USA and looking forward to what the future holds.
I am so proud of seeing this! I was a US synchro swimmer that promoted this sport to become an Olympic sport. This makes my heart so happy to see the advancement and changes in the sport since the early 80s.
4:59 that routine is INSANE. To be able to stay in their spot doing all sorts of movements, sometimes upside down, all the while staying synchronized is just beyond impressive.

As an asthmatic long distance runner, artistic swimming seems like the most difficult sport to me. Just having to hold your breathe and control it while doing all these crazy moves in water and having to work with a whole team doing the same.
Most Olympians have to grow up rich or have sponsors. Sports like this, you have to be a nepo baby just for all the costs of training. It’s why I like running as far as being the fairest sport because people don’t need to grow up rich or start from a young age to do it.
@@JDMimeTHEFIRSThow are goggles ableist?? it’s a sport that’s all about looking artisitic and aesthetic and let’s be honest, goggles would look horrible with those dresses and dance moves
China captured its first-ever Olympic gold medal in the artistic swimming team event at the Paris Games. Team USA captured the silver to earn its first medal in this event since 2004. Spain medaled for the second time in the last three Olympics, finishing third and the bronze medal
They came in Silver. Not bad at all. Considering they didn't get anything in a very long time. I also saw that the swimming team didn't have goggles on at the Olympics. I thought that was tough! That should be allowed. Not everyone can see or see clearly under water.
I love how the dad is crying not just because he has an olympian daughter, but because his daughter is representing USA, the country that gave him so much.
If you are this impressed with USA’s routine, trying checking out Russia’s past routines. They’ve been gold medalists since 1996, this sport is Russia’s territory. My favorite one is the one from Rio 2016. USA just came back from the scene after not being able to qualify for many olympics since 04. This really isn’t easy. China finally got their gold though, superb to all these artistic swimmers and their noses and ears!!!
What brand of creme is on their faces? Am I correct in assuming it is something to protect their faces from 8 hours of sun exposure 6 days a week? What about their arms and hands and backs?
It’s a thick zinc based sunscreen designed to stay on even through hours of water exposure. And yes it’s mostly to prevent them from getting sunburned - which would require recovery time out of the water.
Where i lived when i was in hs, the private pool club a classmate went to had synchronized swimming. She was on the team. Look up synchronized swimming coach.

Bizarre that no mention of where Andrea is from! A 4 time Olympian representing who? Spain!🇪🇸 She’s a Spaniard. One of the most established teams in this Olympic event.
You can have more than one, I think you might even get points for having more than one flyer but I'm not sure. When a team chooses to have the same person fly in all the acros, it's usually because they are the only one on the team that can perform those skills. On our team the flyer is a former gymnast.
Hello there, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing ever. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life.He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. See John 1:12 for this please. Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?
