I recently picked up 3 rods with reels spooled with lead core for $15. Used them all winter and caught lots of rainbows!

I’m Addicted to yard sales , estate sales , thrift stores , gun shows. Been a collector, picker, hunter since the early 1970s. Collected Colts , Winchesters , Smiths etc Love 100 year old firearms. Fishing has a special spot in my heart . Old lures , reels bring back memories of simpler times. I do
still fish a lot of 40’- 50 year old lures. Far as great finds . My wife owned a antique store in Louisiana she opened in the early 1990s and had for over 20 years. It’s incredible what she had accumulated over the years of that store. And we still have a good bit of that inventory . I like to call it Man Stuff. Thanks for posting up this video today.

I was at a tackle show this weekend and got a gob of Hellbenders, different sizes, colors and condition, for about $2 each. I'm going to be on a quest to prove they still catch bass like the old days, despite some rumors to the contrary. At least they look cool in the tackle box.

I recently got my hands on some Mann's Pogo Shads. I like anything from the 80s 90s and 00s that have been discontinued. My favorite tho is the stuff Bill Lewis made that wasn't a Rat-l-trap.

Me and my daughter have hit two bass fishing yard sales here in virginia...we have got some good deals great finds and part of the proceeds of the events has gone to disabled veteran groups

Spinnerbait with weird blade
Yep I have a few of these and they have a unique bent blade with a clacker on the blade. They can be used as a topwater, a wake bait or a spinnerbait. They do work and muskies like these.

Also found a couple sweet cheeks spinnerbaits. A head that wobbles,kind of a unique bait. Got written up in Infisherman years ago.

I haven’t found any in years, but I always keep my eye out for original Lazy Ike’s. The originals were made out of wood. It was my grandfather’s favorite lure.

I found a Fred Arbogast Hawaiian Wiggler #3 weedless spoon thing is wicked looking kinda reminds me of like a first version of weedless Johnson Silver minnow but weird colors

Those were some good scores. Recently got a box of tackle from a friend whose father-in-law passed away. How to bunch of old River runs, Hellbenders and original Rapala minnows and I cannot remember the name of the lipless cranks

I love a good bargain, nice finds! I just got a great deal on a couple Mustad Vantage spinning rods. Really nice quality 7'3" med-light fast action for the money.

I haven’t tried garage sales, but I love looking in trees and bushes around the lakes after they drop their leaves. Found 6 ploppers, 2 mini maxes, 1 frog, and 3 jerkbaits. … I agree about some sellers. I look locally on Facebook market place when I want to try a new bait or rod and some people have full retail price on 2 yr old used baits or rods.

I work for an auction service. When we clean out estates we get a lot of old tackle. I find old Wiggle Warts and other old hard baits often. I started collecting the old Jitterbugs and Devil Horses for fun. Check your local listing and see if you have any auctions near by and you may be surprised by what you find.

Matt, you got some crazy good deals. I watched my dad pay $120 for 3 old wiggle warts at a swap meet only for him to take them home and repaint them. He watches your videos too so he might see me calling him out. He does make some really cool looking crankbaits. Im a tackle junkie too and would have bought all of those for those prices and probably some more.😊

Not a bait or lure, but while cleaning my Mom's house after her passing, I found a Garcia Mitchell spinning reel model #308 says it was made in France.

I’ve had some extraordinary days on Kentucky lake with the Shad Raps, and I still have a box full in different sizes😜 I just picked up 2 Mann’s crankbaits and 2 Chug bugs,one in a matte red color 🤷🏻♂️ hunting for treasures you scored with the Wiggle Wart 💯😜

Correct. Shoestring Dubois. I absolutely hate yard/garage sales. There are way too many of them in my area creating traffic problems. Maryland Bass Federation would host tackle flea markets. I would sell my tackle there and I had to basically give it away. So I just keep everything now and my garage shows it. 😂 I have some of the baits you purchased.

Glad you brought up Musky and Pike fishing in this video. Providing you have the proper rod for the lure, at what point do step up into a 300 size baitcaster, 2oz lure, 4oz lure?? What say you?

I’d say 2+ oz but really if you throw any big baits consistently the larger reels will hold up longer
I know you build your own rods and try jp your jigs, do you ever make your own crankbaits?

Matt, I bought a 17g lipless, it's not a brand, and what happens is that when I start to apply it, it starts to come to the surface because it has the tabs facing upwards (with the lip upwards) and only then in the surface is that it turns the hooks downwards (with the lip down) and starts to sink, what is certain is that I caught a largemouth bass and two sandfish, is there any way to solve this problem? Now I can do overhead throws of 20 meters and two-handed overhead throws of around 25 meters (this throw should be higher, right?).
