My cousin had the same issue on his iPhone 13 or 14 Pro Max (don't know exactly what version he is having) recently which was bought from UAE, he got the issue after installing a new update maybe 2-3 months ago, he approached Apple service center in Calicut, Kerala and they agreed that it was a known software issue that caused the green lines and that they will replace it for free but that he will have to pay labour charge of around 2-3K to which he agreed and he got the screen replaced. To those having the same issue you should do the same.
My one plus 9 pro ( without warranty ) display same green line issue and they changed in 2 hours without deleting any data. though i had back cover damaged still they did . One plus rocks.. i bought that phone for 43k.. ppl go behind apple and paying 4 times i paid.. still bad service

So that they didn't have to worry about you filing case about data loss for display change. Tricky move from there side.

Data lost due to device issue(which is expected/accepted, if there is manufacturingdefect). This case should be on the first(1.) point, that's what we asking about right to repair, and they may change there policies. Instead if we change case for point( 2) this is just another case for product defect, which they will just compensate with anything. Then the right to repair question remains unansweres. There policies still remains unchanged.
I’ve been to the same service centre thrice and my experience has been less-than-ideal on two occasions. I did escalate and get it resolved. Now, I simply visit the other service centre when I need.

Bro i bought iphone 8 in 2018 for 64k. It worked well for 18 months. In 2020 there was an apple auto update because of it apple logo was blinking. I rushed to icare first they denied for free repair since it was out of warranty. So i asked to repair it on paid service. They had my phone for one complete month and said my phone is dead. They asked me to buy new phone since it become old. I was so so so sad and felt very alone because no one here to help in this since it was just a phone. After that incident i never ever buy apple products. Samsung is way better compared to its service.

Bro, One main thing also Apple doing in India. If a device came with any manufacturing issue within 15 days from buying. then almost all brands offer free replacement or refund. But in Apple India even though if there is any manufacturing issue, no REFUND OR NEW DEVICE REPLACEMENT only we can service it. This is a clear fraud, My iphone 15 came with a dust inside the rear camera, they refused to replace with new phone. I proceeded with legal action. then they compromised and provided me a new iphone 15 but sadly this new one also have dust inside the camera but no so intrusive. so i accepted the device. Apple products have very poor Quality control. Dust inside a 1 lakh rupee phone camera is unacceptable.

I have the similar issue with samsung m51 display was dead after 1.5 years, i have gone through multiple public forum where similar issue was reported across the internet I went to samsung service center they charged me 9 k and stated that display was broken but I can assure that there is not a single scratch on the display , after changing the display it only lasted for 6 months its also dead.
Read the terms and conditions you sign when you drop off your phone at the apple service centre. They clearly state you need to back up your data as there may be a potential loss. You're definitely losing this case.

All apple needs is just roughly 1000 dollars on a phone no matter which part of the world the device sells! It is Indian government who has higher taxes, duties for iPhones! If the government cuts their share because iPhone is made in India, apple for sure would abide and regulate. Just few days back apple was banned from selling watch ultra 2 and watch 9 because of patent theft! So, if government is good enough, prices can come lower! Moreover, iPhones are not for the poor! But after calling and fighting with the Apple headquarters in Banglore, they approved by display change with free of cost. Regarding the loss of data, they told me the same. So i managed to take backup with itunes by connecting the phone in laptop. But when receiving the phone, no data was lost. service done in- Future world, chennai

If a device came with any manufacturing issue within 15 days from buying. then almost all brands offer free replacement or refund.
But in Apple India even though if there is any manufacturing issue, no REFUND OR NEW DEVICE REPLACEMENT only we can service it.
This is a clear fraud, My iphone 15 came with a dust inside the rear camera, they refused to replace with new phone. I proceeded with legal action. then they compromised and provided me a new iphone 15 but sadly this new one also have dust inside the camera but no so intrusive. so i accepted the device.
Apple products have very poor Quality control. Dust inside a 1 lakh rupee phone camera is unacceptable.

I have the similar issue with samsung m51 display was dead after 1.5 years, i have gone through multiple public forum where similar issue was reported across the internet I went to samsung service center they charged me 9 k and stated that display was broken but I can assure that there is not a single scratch on the display , after changing the display it only lasted for 6 months its also dead.

Read the terms and conditions you sign when you drop off your phone at the apple service centre. They clearly state you need to back up your data as there may be a potential loss. You're definitely losing this case.

Apple is one of the worst corporates i've ever seen, they said that the iphone 15 and 15 plus models are now made in india yet the price remains the same as before, apple should be sued for this. Hope government takes evasive action on this corporate and regulate the prices.
Yes prices should be regulated! But if it is regulated, the government will be the one who will take the loss. All apple needs is just roughly 1000 dollars on a phone no matter which part of the world the device sells! It is Indian government who has higher taxes, duties for iPhones! If the government cuts their share because iPhone is made in India, apple for sure would abide and regulate. Just few days back apple was banned from selling watch ultra 2 and watch 9 because of patent theft! So, if government is good enough, prices can come lower! Moreover, iPhones are not for the poor! People are mad crazy about the iPhone and they are buying it no matter how expensive they are! If the demand is lower, if the sales numbers are lower, apple would lower the prices. Government can better focus on reducing oil prices which will benefit the whole country rather than iPhone prices which will help probably 0.5 percent of the population

If they are assembling over here, the labour is considerably less, so they can easily lower the price for their products without affecting their profit margin, but still they are reluctant to do it shows their anarchy.
And second of all, you are wrong, even though people may not be able to sue them, im pretty damn sure that government can sue them, because the apple themselves rely on the government for selling their products over here through policies. So just stop being reluctant.

Hi, I have faced the same issue. My phone was out of warranty and initially they asked the same 33k for display change. But after calling and fighting with the Apple headquarters in Banglore, they approved by display change with free of cost.
Regarding the loss of data, they told me the same. So i managed to take backup with itunes by connecting the phone in laptop. But when receiving the phone, no data was lost.
