I just wanted to give a tip: (Ik your not an actual therapist but this could be for anyone) try not to say “don’t cry” because it can make people feel like you don’t want to deal with their emotions, or that their emotions aren’t valid. Try saying stuff like “do you want to talk about why you’re crying?” Etc. Remember everyone, it is perfectly ok to express your feelings, crying included. Love you Keara!! 💕💕💕

that’s true but it can depend on the situation, the person, and how you go about it. “don’t cry” in a soft and caring tone, at least for me, makes me feel like that person cares about me and hates to see me cry and wants me to feel better. so it’s very comforting. for others i acknowledge it’s definitely different though! and yeah therapists probably shouldn’t say it lol.
