You got this, Mac!! Annotating brings me so much joy. And sharing books you've annotated adds a new layer of lending your books to friends. You're having a conversation with the author AND with the next reader. It's a beautiful thing!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! ☺️ I love the idea of annotating being a conversation not just with the author, but also with the next reader. It adds this beautiful communal aspect to reading that I never really considered before when loaning books to friends! Hmmm an annotated book could be a great gift for a book lover 🤔 Your thoughts have me excited to annotate more! Thanks so much for watching 🥰

I think I would feel very similarly annotating a book 🤣 it just feels wrong! Although I did highlight and make notes in Stephen King’s “On Writing” once and I think I also used pencil lol. As always your calligraphy is GORGEOUS!!! And hypnotizing! And that digital drawing you did for the playing card turned out amazing!!!! ♥️🃏🌹

RIGHT!!! My anxiety was through the roof! But once I got over that initial fear, I was fine lol I actually can't wait to annotate another book - still with pencil though 😂 Thank you thank you friend! I can't wait to do more digital drawings in my reading journal this year! Thanks so much for watching ☺♥

You know, I've done the tab annotations on books i've reread a few times before, but this really gives me inspiration to do more!
Maybe I should keep a pad of tabs on hand when reading new books for the first time~ No note taking, just marking anyhting that makes my heart pound or catches my attention.
Then when I finish the book I can go back and re-annotate if I want to!
Maybe it would help me recapture some of that original magic when I reread in the future!

Absolutely love your idea! ☺️ Keeping tabs handy for those initial reactions sounds like a fantastic way to capture the magic of your first read. It's like creating a visual roadmap of the emotions a book evokes. And the thought of revisiting those tabs during a re-read to recapture that original magic is pure genius! Happy tabbing and happy reading! 📚✨ Thanks so much for watching! 🥰

I rarely annotate, but when I do it's in pencil 😅. I read my first Marissa Meyer this...last...year and very much enjoyed it. I think that means I definitely need to check this one out!

Pencils for the win!!! 😭 Even after that experience, I still don't think I can bring myself to use a pen lol I've read a couple of Marissa Meyer's other books, but this one was by far my fav so definitely recommend ☺️ Happy New Year! Wishing you and your loved ones the best for 2024! 🥳❤️
