Im a huge Moho fan/user ! I wish it was more well known. Your video was awesome, well done. Only suggestion is sometimes when you were talking about Moho, you would have Blender on the screen and vice versa

Well Moho 14 came out recently and it’s now time to update the info and get the word out there. Cuz the hand drawing mechanics have been improved and I love how it feels. I have the latest update and I tried it already. I wish it was also on my iPad Pro….. I love Moho.

MOHO is WAAAAAAYYYYYYY Better then Blender in the 2D Category. HANDS DOWN, PERIOD.

What can it do that blender can’t?

blender grease pencil is many things but 'very straightforward'? that's quite a stretch

I think if your also a blender 3d artist going into grease pencil is alot smoother

Blender and Moho user here and basically if you need to get 2d animation done go with Moho, hands down!
And Moho does have frame by frame animation 😊
Blender is a beast but for 2d animation, Moho is better.
    Good videos btw

Nice work.. I've been working with Blender for budget reasons

I've been using moho since ASpro 5. Now it's out of Smith micro's hands it's getting better and better.

You said Moho is exclusively vector program? I don't think that is correct. It can do raster base graphics using same tools. There are plenty of examples of awesome raster animations done in Moho. Vectors offer some advantages for this kind of 2.5 D animation style, but its not exclusive to it.

You can even cut out and smart wrap images. Using the same vector and bone tools

Both programs is good, wich choose will depends in what you will work. I will take Blender; more flexible results, free, 3D co-work and i won't need to learn so much programs

As a blender Fanatic, who uses Blender for cut out animation, of course moho is better

    1. Moho have smart wrap feature. You can cut out and creat moving points for an image and rig it faster than you could do it in blender😊
    2. People don't dare to say the harsh truth about blender bc of the rage of the fanboys.😢
Moho is intuitive and easy to use you can find the basic features by yourself.
While you have to watch a tutorial on how the bucket tool works in blender grease pencil i wish if this was a joke...😅
Moho is straight forward 2d animation while blender force you to work with 3d to your 2d animation and to fix 3d problems.
Moho renders my animation on my old computer faster than blender renders the first frame in a gamer pc.😂
Moho is more simple but it works. While blender is always few steps away from crashing or getting cursed.
Moho wants to be an effective user friendly 2d puppet animator, while blender want to tell you that it have all kind of features but it never dives too deep into usability. More of a stunt than a feature. Blender dosen't even have switch and smart bone.
Its hard to belive that blender is fit to be anything else than creating low poly enviroments for mobile games.😂

Well done, you wrote everything correctly.
I would just like to add something. To make a small analogy.
Let's move away from the topic of software and consider such an object as a nail. An ordinary metal nail. And now let's write a cool advertisement for this nail!
      So:
The nail is a super tool! Simple and free. You can mix tea with them, you can draw a picture by dipping it in paint, you can cook a pie, write a book, use it instead of a hairpin, fix their bike, build a house, yes, you can do anything!
      Blender = nail.

Moho is intuitive... We get it... And You just can diss blender... There are thousands of people working hard to mqke blender free, and thousands leading their livelihood from these free program... Blender does everything any 3d software can do with effort... Thus it is unreasonable to talk the way you tslked

    • @flur9430

You just don't know how to use Blender. Plus Blender has smart bones (addon). Both programs is good, wich choose will depends in what you will work. I will take Blender; more flexible results, free, 3D co-work and i won't need to learn so much programs

I like Moho how he uses bezier curves to draw and control the shapes in the joints with smart bones. That is the equivalent of using a mesh and deforming it using shape key with drivers in Blender.
What I have never seen is an animation good enough in cut out that catches my attention. I've never seen her in Moho. They look artificial. Maybe I haven't seen a great animation professional in Moho.
It is obvious that Blender rigs are not so specialized for 2D animation. Something I would like is for grease pencil to have shape keys to achieve deformations without interpolations without creating more GP objects per frame. It would save a lot of computing.
But the sorting layer in Blender? I still don't manage them
In Moho the patches and masks sometimes do not respond. I have had problems when I have many layers.
It is obvious that for Toon Boom, Grease pencil, Moho pro, there will be things that only draw frame by frame, or inventing solutions that are not in the workflow of their manuals.
I come from old school traditional animation. And when I see a puppet with bad animation it makes me not like these softwares.
The final qualities leave a lot to be desired.
My specialization is 3D rig, and I still have things to study to offer the best possible quality for animators.
Blender is a powerful animation tool.
If your PC is low-end, don't expect to handle high amounts of polygon. There is a whole workflow behind it to optimize projects that must be evaluated in pre-production. Carrying out performance tests of all kinds is necessary, especially with very demanding projects.

"Which one is better? Photoshop or Excel?" Um... yeah, sure... BTW: Moho is *_NOT_* exclusively vector! One of its neatest features, actually.

I use both blender is a swiss army knife it does practically everything but Moho is a specialist its made for 2d animation whether its frame by frame or via Bones or with mesh its t
Its by far better because its main objective is 1 thing 2d i rig and animate my character in Moho but create the environment and do the camera work in blender

both are amazing software, but if you want to do a Hollywood quality like the movie spiderman into spiderverse with very fancy special effects... blender should be the one... however if you are working for more minimalist animation Moho would be the choice.. however I'm surprise of the sci-fi series like Scavengers Reign is created using Moho..

Hi, at the 3rd minute you show how you assemble the rig. so rig has not been collected for a long time. More precisely, they may be collected, but not in the current version of the software. My channel is dedicated to Moho and literally just released a free-to-use rig that you can feel.
