Slowly but surely ECU's football program is getting better. They could be 6--1 with a bit of luck, having lost by 1 to NCSU and in overtime against Navy. Progress definitely being made.

@@blakefrazier9991 I just don't think most people realize in what shape we were in when he got to Greenville. It takes time to build a program. And he has done it block by block. We want to have a team that wins consistently every year, eight or nine games. ECU isn't getting the four and five star players. I just hope that we'll be able to keep him.

@@glxtchedOTR Yes there has been. I've been going to football games in Greenville for many years. I live about an hour from Greenville. I was at the Peach Bowl in 1992. I was at the game when they beat Miami at Carter Finley years ago after Greenville was flooded. Love my Pirates. One of my kids is an ECU grad. When we hired Mike Houston I knew that the program would get better. And it has. I hope we can keep him for a long time. I know that Va Tech tried to hire him away last year but fortunately we stepped up with the money. People who are not from this area just don't know how great game day is in Greenville. Football is important to us. I still say that we'll win at least eight this year, maybe nine. Next year we'll have to find a quarterback. But the future looks good.

I don't know the rules of the game; why aren't the teams kicking field goals and kicking for the 1 pt conversion after a touchdown? Is kicking not allowed in overtime?

New rule this year: Once you reach OT number 2, you have to go for 2 after a touchdown. Used to be the rule going into the third OT. But they changed the 3rd OT and beyond into strictly 2pt tries.
