Kirstie was just two months past her 21st birthday when this was posted to Todrick's TH-cam channel, and yes, she absolutely killed it. Note that she isn't just playing Dorothy; she's also Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West Side. There's a Behind the Scenes video for this one, and all the men agreed that the best thing about making this was watching Kirstie. (Well, except Kevin. He said Toto was the real star, but he was obviously joking.)
This was a collaboration with Todrick Hall. He picked the songs and had the initial ideas. I think the guys had fun with being lollipop guild men and dogs and other costumes. I really like this as it shows their creativity and willingness to try things outside their usual genres
The costumes were so good because they'd been rented from a professional costume shop. Obviously a really GOOD costume shop, because they managed to fit everyone perfectly, and Scott, at least, must have been a challenge.
@@margretrosenberg420 Makes Sense. Plus professional costume shops and theatrical places can make things fit if needed short term. The whole production is fun and creative for sure. I did laugh at Kevin's doggie costume and the guys being in the lollipop guild while Dorothy was a sweet costume.
@@debrawalkermeyer9109 I have no experience with professional costume shops; the closest I've come to appearing in theater was my high school Junior play, over 50 years ago. (We did make a good bit of money, though, enough to properly fund the Junior/Senior banquet at a really nice Greek restaurant.) I'm not so sure about Kevin's costume; it has the look of something just thrown together. The others, however, are clearly professional quality. The bald caps with the little tufts of hair for the Lollipop Guild are particularly nice (not to mention funny).
the lyrics of the different songs are meant to tell the story of the different characters and plot of wizard of oz. Amazingly creative concept put together by Toddrick Hall and in colab with PTX.
Since so many of the songs included in this Home mashup were included, I'm guessing that this was at least part of the inspiration for the PTX Home mashup from their At Home EP
If you love Scott's voice & want to hear him do some soulful singing....then you cannot miss out on "Shoshanna Bean with Scott Hoying- All of Me". I promise...you will be blown away!!! The 4 piece background singers (with 1 being the piano player, as well) are jaw droppingly magical. PLEASE, PLEASE react to this amazing performance.
Scott's original song, Mars. There are a couple of official music videos versions and they are both fantastic, but if you want a taste of what Scott can really do with those vocals, the choir version will melt your brain. An original song from Scott and one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard!

Don't do the A'Capella one. Do the one with the haunting background music. Don't know for sure, but heard Mitch wrote & played some, if not all, of it.
They needed all five of them to be in pretty much every scene. No problem with Scott, Mitch, and Avi, since they were playing the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, but what were they to do with Kevin? The only character that was left was Toto. Please note that Toto seems to be doing an awful lot of singing for a dog. Yes, this is either a mashup or a medley, depending on definition. However, this is one of the rare cases where we can't actually credit Pentatonix with the arrangement. This was all Todrick Hall's idea, and he had the whole thing arranged before he asked them to be part of it, though I do kind of wonder about the last scene, where they're singing their "Goodbyes" to Dorothy. Those sound to me a lot more like Scott, Mitch, and Avi singing to Kirstie than their characters singing to Dorothy.
@@mmg8823 I agree, with one reservation. Scott, Mitch, and Avi all wanted to hug her and/or grip her hands and look into her eyes, and having Kevin right next to her would have interfered with that. I think they should have put Kevin just to the right (our right) of Avi and kept him in frame except for Todrick's song and nod to her. Putting him on the other side of Todrick meant he was out of frame entirely. And, we weren't there, and this was Todrick's production, and we have the advantage of 20/20 hindsight.
