Adolphe David: Reverie "Nuit d'Orient", Op.30

David (1842-1897) was a french composer.
According to his music publisher Heugel, Adolphe David seems to have been very modest in David's obituary. Therefore, hardly anything is known about him. He taught in Nancy for some time and lived in Nice . His most important contribution to music would be the operetta Diane de Spaar with a libretto by Armand Silvestre; with performances from December 3 , 1887 at the Le Grand-Théâtre de Nantes. It made the British press. In addition, he also wrote quite a number of works for piano solo, of which La Pluie (Regen) gained some fame. According to the Bibliothèque nationale de Francehe wrote about 200 works for piano, but only a part of them can be found.

Hello Mr. Virtuoso. Amazingly done on a wonderful piece of mystery, melancholy, intrigue, and intimacy.
I love that it ended with a plagal cadence to the low B. It's resolved, but somehow empty, like when you're at the end of a conversation you'd like to continue, but you are at a loss for words, and so the moment dies.
