Thanks for responding! We were promoting a rockabilly album we'd just recorded. The name was Doc Dockery Band. The same entertainment agency that booked The Scotsman and the downstairs duet booked "real American bands" -- they paid for our trip to fly over and back, an apartment, and food and drinks -- it was really a dream for a 21-year old wanting to make it in the music biz. Hi Mar Kat, so happy to read your comment - thanks a lot :) We made this video around March / April, so then you know what kind of weather to expect too. Welcome!
It was really well done and interesting video focused on important things. Not only very informative but also fun to watch. I didn't know that "Scream" painting was in Oslo and view from the streets is nice perspective to have before visiting Oslo myself. I'm planning to move to Norway in about 2 months so it's always useful to see such videos. Keep up the good work!
Jeg tror jeg aldri har sett en større lasaron enn deg. Tror du noen fra utlandet synes at Oslo Øst kan beskrives som en ghetto? Har du noen gang vært utenfor vest-Europa?
Thankyou! I'm thinking of going to Oslo for a weekend in March or April, and this looks great! I was worried about it being expensive but if a beer in the Star Gate is about £3.50 before 3pm then fantastic! That's about the same as Manchester, England (Where I live).
“The Scream”. One of my favorite paintings. Saw it in USA here when artist’s work was on loan here. Says a lot. I think everyone can relate to “the Scream” in one way or another. 😂😂
Have no intention of going to Norway, don't know how I found your site but you two are just adorable. Im freezing like you are it actually snowed in the desert (Arizona, USA) today and my cactus were covered in snow! Would not want to be this cold all the time.
We went to the Opera House, saw a great production and amazing building. . . for far less than we would pay in UK. Your theatre and ballet is more affordable funnily enough!
My son & I stayed overnight in the Anker Hotel- we were on a tight budget - we had a double room with its own toilet/shower and kitchenette so we could cook our own food, and it cost about the same as a B&B in the UK. Great grocery shops locally too, and the area didn't seem that run down, and wasn't far to walk to from the centre. We walked to the opera house and the harbour in the evening for my son to take photos. Would definitely like to visit Oslo again.

Bullshit, all of it. For several years you have to pay the same on "the cheaper side" (politically the red side of the river Akerselva). Maybe some mpre restaurants pr capita, but worse conditions overall. Overprized in Oslo, that maybe an artform to call that "Cheap" on web.

Hi. Love your channel. We are headed to Bergen next Christmas and would love to hear your tips on surviving on a budget and any suggestions on what to do/what is open at Christmas.
Thanks a lot for nice words. I dont know Bergen that well. Think they have an cheap "eastside" there too. Ill check out with some of my friends. When it comes to opening hours in Norway (and Bergen) at Christmas tourists have a challange. This holiday is kind of extreeme when it comes to; "stay home with your family and eat for three days". Meaning that most of the attractions are closed, 24, 25 and 26 of december. But things might have changed a bit, since there are a lot of tourist now arriwing at winter. So things like the aqarium, Griegs house and some old churches might be open. Check out this link: en.visitbergen.com/ They know whats open or not.

Hahaha, I'm thinking if I should go to Norway this November. I'll be in berlin, amterdam, copenhagen/swedish or norway and london. Wearing my dale of Norway sweater now!
Keep wearing your Dale-sweater - you might be into luck! Or ... the Norwegian women like to be "urban" - and you might find yourself more comfortable in a hoody :)
Ya, I would love to meet some Norwegian blonde ladies ;-) Wearing Dale of Norway with a blazer similar to yours haha. That's nice that you mentioned the Norwegian ladies, it might convince me to go to Norway/Oslo instead of Copenhagen haha. Oh great, I actually loved walking along that river when i visited Oslo. Didn't know it was dangerous .
Haha, its not really. Hope you enjoyed it here
thanks for all your advice!! YOU'RE MY SAVER!!! :D
So nice to hear Pamela - you made our day! :)
you are so funny! :)) thank you for reminding not to buy anything hahaha...
i have plan to go there on december this year!
+Gacanti Swastika Thanks a lot. Haha, yes thats the best way to save money here ; )The good news is that Norway is 30 percent cheaper now than when we made the film, due to low oil prices. So you can shop a few things here without being robbed. Welcome - keep posting.
your commentary is hilarious, I am traveling next March/April and have been looking for some good travel pointers, specially as a solo traveler. Keep up the good work :)
Hi Mar Kat, so happy to read your comment - thanks a lot :) We made this video around March / April, so then you know what kind of weather to expect too. Welcome!
Very good advices!!
Thanks 😃
LOL! You guys are my hero! You're the reason I got the nerve to start a vlog last month!! So fun!!! Hugs!! Betsy
Wow, that's awesome to hear Betsy. Thanks a lot :):) We wish you all the best 🤞🤞 Love your channel name!
@@YOURWAY2NORWAY Thank you!!
Bra vlog, flirte så eg holdt på å dø. Fløtte snart fra Nord-Norge t Oslo så her va det mye bra informasjon, keep up the good work. Takk :)
+Odd-Helge Dagsland Så bra at den funke for nordlendinger også;) Takk for super kommentar. Håper du trives her.
That was really great, thanks!!
Cool to hear Umut :)
Cool to hear, happy to help. Welcome to Norway Sam Robbo. Hope you enjoy your stay here :)
At first I thought he said 'Oprah' house.
Thank you sir. This was very informative, practical, and educational!
Happy to hear that Ernest. Thanks
Lovely video!!! I'm a big fan of your vlog :)
Fernando. We love you too.
fun video! :-)
+wisdom from North. Thx. :)
Wow, its a very interesting video . Hope you will make more of similar videos.
nirmala sherchan Thank you so much. On behalf of Ronald and me, may I ask where you are from? And what kind of videos would you like us to create? Are you living in Norway?
YOURWAY2NORWAY And off course: We do this on our spare time, just to see if it can grow. So if you like it, we would really appreciate sharing as that make our audience grow. Thus inpire us to create more videos. Thanks, anyway!
YOURWAY2NORWAY hey i live in Oslo and it is oviously very expensive place to live in.As i have lived in lisbon (Portugal) and antwerp(Begium) before, surviving in Oslo without a job is really a challenge with the high costs of living . How about tips on searching for job in Norway in your new video I think we'd really appreciate that .Thank you for asking and also taking your time to make those awesome videos ♥'em . I hope you get millions of subscribers , Goodluck :)
nirmala sherchan Hey Nirmala, thank you so much for your comment. We love it :-) Yes, it is a challenge living in Norway without a job. So maybe we have to make your episode. We wish you all luck both getting a job and having a pleasant stay here. Keep in touch Nirmala :-)
nice videos. really like these walking videos.
markalejandrox Thanx!
Thank so much my brother. Very nice clip video
Happy to hear you liked it Kritsada Naynard. Thanks :)
The cheapest parts of Oslo still looks nice compared to some cities in the United State
Dont know too much about the States, but yes - the cheap areas in Oslo are lovely and vibrating. I love to hang around there. Cool atmosphere.
Bullshit, all of it. For several years you have to pay the same on "the cheaper side" (politically the red side of the river Akerselva). Maybe some mpre restaurants pr capita, but worse conditions overall. Overprized in Oslo, that maybe an artform to call that "Cheap" on web.
Such an interesting and really nice video.
Thanks 😃
I love your videos! We are going to Oslo this late October and have been paying attention to all your tips 😊
That is so cool to hear Jane Cristina. Thanks a lot for an awesome comment :) If you see me in the streets, say hi. Hope you guys will enjoy it here. If you have questions when you are in Oslo, we are happy to help. Welcome to Norway!
@@YOURWAY2NORWAY That's so kind of you 😊 Of course I won't fail to say hello if we see you there. My husband and I are arriving on the 27th evening and staying until the 31th morning. We are super excited, very first time in a Scandinavian country. Keep making amazing videos like this, you've won loyal audience 😉
Check out this link: en.visitbergen.com/
They know whats open or not.
Sorry about that McDonalds. Thinking east end of Oslo is Greenwich Village circa 1996. Very cool.👍🏼
I love the east end of Oslo too. Never been to Greenwich Village, but I have heard about it. And the things I have heard fits this area too

Amazing video... the river, snow and cozy places... 11:42 wtf 😂😂 no way😂😂😂😂
Thanks a lot G man. Lol ;)
Can you make a review about to how easy or hard to find job in restaurant? For the foreigners like european..im from spain and i want to move in norway i worked here in the restaurant
+Jeysser Silva Hola. Just now its hard to get a job here. Price of oil is low. So many people without work. Tenemos una pequeña crisis financiera en este momento. If you know someone here who works in a bar, it's easier.
Thanks for the useful info.
'Loved your video!
Roland Ramirez Hi Roland, thanx for your comment. You motivate us to make new videos. Keep watching&commenting;)
I am in Michigan USA surrounded by the Great Lakes ..the largest body of fresh water on earth , we have 1750 miles of coastline more then any other state in the US. seems like you would be right at home here ... just like Norway i.e. cold weather, deer hunting, fishing, Hot Girls, best pizza, lots of great beer, and cheap to live ..lots of land , anytime you want to visit let me know.
Thanks! You must have Norwegian DNA. Welcome home 😘
Yess Börek. Bon Appetit! If there are, i recommend Patatesli Börek ( Patty with Potato )
They have that one here too. I like the one with spinach and cheese 😋
the more i see 👀more i like !!!! very cool, Oslo I'm coming 🥰!!! 15 days and I'm landing !!! 😜
Thanks Bruno! Welcome to Norway :) :)
Your "scary" areas look like everywhere in Los Angelos 😂
The "scary" areas are the ones that have character.
The best and the informative youtube channel for Norway. Watching your other videos too.
Planning to be in Oslo & and some spectacular train trips from and to Oslo in Mid September.
Is the area is safer now? Should I visit this part of Oslo?
It's safe 😃 My point was we think it's unsafe just because there are many foreigners there. I hang around that area all the time. Thanks a lot for being nice and welcome to Norway K Whytte 🤗
Very helpful, thank u🤗
I could only go to one Nordic place this time round, perhaps two places - Oslo and Copenhagen or Stockholm. ;-) Hey this travel on a budget tip and narrative is amazing and it definitely help me/gives me something interesting to go - I love to go to where the locals go to/not touristy places. Taks! ;-)
🤣🤣🤣🤣💕💕👍👍👍👍 Greenland looks a little bit like San Diego or Los Angeles. Very casual. Mostly people are very nice and friendly (except the ones with mental illness, but they won't hurt you). People visiting downtown Los Angeles would enjoy eating at The Pantry. In San Diego the place to go is La Puerta or The Lion's Share.
Thanks for this video. Seems like an expensive city and thankfully I will be staying at the arken hostel next summer!
+Luciano Classical Guitar Hola Luciano. Yes, it can be expensive if you eat and drink out. If you make your own food, you save a lot. Bienvenido 😊
Very nice and informative video. Can you please let me know from beginning to end how to stay two weeks in oslo on budget right from beginning(landing at Oslo airport) to the end(going back to Oslo airport for departure). After landing on oslo airport, how to get taxi or transport, public bus, where to stay, where to eat, how to travel cheap on budget and how to go intercity for sightseeing on a cheap transport. Is there any free meal or free or cheap accommodation in the city. Thanks for your reply.
Hi Jikaus Aus. Here you have some more tips, including some of your questions above: th-cam.com/video/6fQfxLG_VjI/w-d-xo.html
I'm currently in Oslo and I was having a can of beer near the Opera house today, and then I remembered that the toilet is free there :D thanks to this video, I saved a few kronor
👌👌👌
@@YOURWAY2NORWAY But I was sad to notice that the Star Gate pub was closed down :(
😂😂😂🤩🤩🤯 I laugh every time I watch your videos!! I was anticipating a rio grande and you crossed Poco de agua!!😂 I love the restroom backdrop, the travels thru dangerous nature paths (you've never seen Central Park at night I guess) I want to visit the Greenland district (?) they have a giant McDonald's. And estoy feliz de qué le comida de Mads, y let him drink cerveza, lol
Jajajja, ahora se llama: Rio Poco de Agua ;) Gracias
i live in Oslo but im from Spain i love it ur channel
