I would say tbh there are fertile lake spots easier than the portal for starting out. Spawning near the hidden lake has better resources than the portal and more viable tames. Stuff like dire bears roll rats and less basilisks. Portal being "easy" was always kind of a gag, due to the common basilisk spawns lol
Another useful tip…pump your hp up! Ravagers everywhere spawning in 3’s all doing bleed and with ab creatures hitting harder you’ll survive a few seconds longer to help you get away
What? The bleed means you just lose more hp, at least for tames damage is better But yeah, the char should get some hp, but not because of the bleed, that's actually a reason *not* to skill hp, cause it will take longer to heal But ravagers can be outrun if you manage your stamina a bit, and they are easy to distract by running past paras, ovis etc
@@philipphoffmann8929 you’re not outrunning ravagers lol. And should you outrun one they spawn in groups of three. Nest bet is to find your local stego and make them its problem. But bleed is just an example of one another is the Basilisk which love the portal spawners which teach said to go to first. Honestly there’s not really a single spot on the map that is “safe” per se.
@@bobroberts7463 not sure I didn't play in 2 months and didn't have to outrun anything for a few more months But you could outrun raptors who are much faster than ravagers because things chasing you stopped for a second every few meters - in asa, not ase

ALWAYS keep aquatic and aggeravic mushrooms on you! When you eat them they protect you against the green zone and blue zone mushroom spore effects! I think aquatic protects against blue zone shroom spores, aggeravic against green zone shroom spores
@@nachoman5927 yes, eat a few if you stepped into spores and they reduce the timer, or they stack an immunity timer if you do not have the debuff to reduce Altho i would advise against eating too many aquatic ones
Portal isn't the easiest. I forget what Edge spawn it is but it is one of the edge spawns where the calmer part of the river that doesn't have Spinos turns into a waterfall that falls into Blue Zone. The only enemies in the immediate area Raptors and a rare spawn for Arthropluera that can easily be foundation blocked no Spinos, no Karkinos, no Ravagers, no Basilisk You also get blue zone earthquake drops if you are close enough to this edge with still being in green zone. I also set up zip lines to get to a few blue zone metal areas on the high root/tree branches in blue zone so metal is pretty easy. Portal can be kind of hard to get a steady source of water at first and Basilisk are still potentially in this easy area so never was my favorite.
The place was always my favorite spot in pve. There is a place not too far from it to access the surface. There were a few metal nods, gas cracks, and a loot drop. It has a lot going for it, but I wonder if they will change it. We will see soon.
It’s not best have bolas or billboards, everything just swarms, I had 7 raptors, 2 of those chicken things and 3 ravengers chasing me yesterday that happened multiple times, oh yea and the lovely megalosauruschomped straight through armor, so it’s cool
*Better tips* best armor to wear is flak at all times unless you're in the radiation zone, bolas are your best friends, always carry extra picks and have parachutes on case you fall or they break ( pro tip: if using picks, move after earthquakes so u don't fall) last tip; try to build high up since it forces players to have to come to you. Happy Arking survivors
Better tip always wear hazard gear. It protects from intense heat, a perpetual issue on abb that flak only intensifies, and it protects you from spore clouds. Spore clouds are areas of death littered throughout the blue and green zone. Flak cannot protect you from that. Finally, the widespread distribution of arthros makes wearing metal sinking gear (high quality flak) unreasonable to use except in specific areas. Since repairing gear that arthros easily break is very resource demanding, whereas repairing hazard really only requires an abundance of gas balls and organic polymer, both of which quickly become easily obtained in mass. If you really need armor then Chitin makes for good armor Since chitinous creatures are present in excess, making it very easy to craft and maintain high quality gear.

Wow, first tip you give is to spawn at Portal which is _blatantly wrong._ There is *no water* at, or anywhere near, Portal. In fact, the closest water to Portal is inside the "Medium" difficulty Mushroom Forest spawn zones and you have to pass several spots that spawn Raptors, Ravagers and Carnos to get there. Aside from the water issue, Portal seems to have a much higher spawn rate on Basilisks than any other spawn point. Basically, just because the game says it's the "Easy" zone does not make it actually the easy zone. It is in fact the _hardest_ spawn zone on the map.
Hard disagree. It has plenty of aquatic mushrooms and you can easily reach areas segregated from dangerous dinos. It's a good place to get the early game protection of a raptor pack, and prepare a ravager trap. The lack of water is frustrating at first, but you quickly get around it with shrooms..
@@23Raind Shoving stacks of mushrooms in your face isn't exactly practical, you end up spending more time harvesting shrooms than progressing. I mean, I guess you could do it, but Portal also has the problem of not allowing building, which again, forces you out past all the toothy things into the Mushroom Forest. Frankly it's better to spawn in the Mushroom Forest directly instead of stalling at Portal until you're forced out. _Usually_ when you spawn in Mushroom Forest the pond outside the Artifact cave won't spawn any Sarcos, Spinos or Karkinos , so you'll only have to deal with some Piranha to get to the island, where you can set up base to block the spawns of those aquatic predators and remain out of the pathing of the Raptors, Ravagers and Carnos. You can use a raft to come and go early on, then upgrade to ziplines and eventually build a bridge. With Elevators and Cliff Platforms you can fit a lot on that island. Alternatively you can go to the Lake spawns, set up a starter base around there and eventually move to one of the nameless-proof spots in the blue zone for easier access to tons of resources.
Have lightpets been fixed? I don't think so, charge light stopped working a few years ago, i know that when i played early it kept nameless away, but that stopped working at some point. At least around me it kept spawning nameless, i sure hope they were aware of that and fixed it.
