He was a significant voice in this country for quite awhile before his politics helped usher him out. Plenty of young people might not know that. Basically a conservative Bill Maher at times, back when his politics were probably in line with the overwhelming majority. And of course back then those that might have a problem with something he said wouldn't stomp off like petulant children and call for his destruction.
I have a DVD with his first three HBO Comedy Specials-it's my go to, when I need to enjoy myself,....by myself. His references are an education unto themselves, as I go to the books (online) to learn who a person is, that he mentioned in his act. Many would do well to watch and LISTEN, if for no other reason, than learning about these various figures, in the history of not only this country, but the world.

I use to not like Dennis Miller as a comedian when I was much younger. I thought he was too wordy and snarky. Then I grew up some and got smarter and the older and more intelligent I got, the more I got Dennis Miller. Now I love the guy and find him so funny and witty.
