Thank you for the video Emma! Alot of pencils. I have the 180 Kalour set, and the 120 Markart set. Just my thoughts, the Markart pencis are definitely my favorite budget pencil set. I think they are very soft and buttery. Its tool bad they are too expensive in the UK, I think you would enjoy them. 🙂

My brother recently purchased me the 300 set it took my nearly a whole day to sort them out into number order because that how I find it easier. He also purchased me the 50 pastel pencil set and the 50 metallic pencil set

I really like these. They feel Most like Arteza’s and work well on Creative Haven (I.e. Theresa Goodridge) pages. I can do simple blends and the color payout is good. Enjoy!

I enjoy these. If you want to review the Markart, the Nyoni set is identical...just different names. And I use my Nyoni set with the Phoenixcolor, they are very similar and all colour gaps are sorted. They are my favourite sets, and I do have the Brut squares, black barrels, etc
I may have to consider getting the nyoni from Ali express maybe 😉
They are pricey, but look very pretty and yes, the tin looks beautiful! Thank you for the review ❤. They look a lot like Arteza 😊
They are very similar to the arteza
The Markart are identical to the Nyoni.. here in the US I bought the MA 120 for like $25 bucks. The Nyoni were double that. I also find them identical to my OG Deli 72 (with the cottage on the front of the tin). I do love the color selection in the Markart, very good for a 120. None of them are remotely similar to Arteza, totally different pencil. They are firm yet smooth, more oil in the formula, go down vibrant, very much a layering pencil but tend to grab paper tooth requiring going in with a blender to push the pigment down. Once done though they are glowy and beautiful. I don't reach for them much because they require that second blend/burnish over the entire page before I'm happy with them. Arteza are much softer, blend directly into each other easily. I've been tempted by the Kalour but I'm not buying any more non open stock pencils. Too much hassle when I wear down the few colors I use up quickly.

I purchased these because of the of price I paid for 240 colors. With that being said, while there are so many colors, many of them are so close together that its almost pointless. As far as using them, I'm not the real thrilled. In fact I had abandoned a page I started with them simply because I was so unhappy with the way it was someone out. I do also have the Mark Art and I would recommend them 100% more.
It may have been the paper some pencils enjoy certain papers more than others..... They are a budget pencil so they will only perform as such..... I definately would not pay full price for them either.... I need to get the nyoni lol so I can try markart

I bought these a while ago when the price dropped. I love the tin. The pencils are in a case because my colouring desk is small, I can't handle all those trays. But I'm keeping the tin for other art related materials to live in.
I like them, but I don't love them yet. I can't get them to layer or blend very well at all really. But I've not used them on very many papers yet. I don't like them much on the German colouring books, Topp brand. Mind you, Prisma don't like that paper either. I have tried them in a JB book, again, not great. OK on Amazon paper but the biggest issue I have is the skin tones are non-existent when you get down to it. Everyone ends up looking jaundiced! And there are no decent browns of any depth, bar perhaps one pencil. So I don't think I will get too much use out of them really. I seem to end up pressing hard with them (I'm a light handed layer colourist normally) and my hand ends up hurting quite quickly. However, they are better than Castle Arts. I don't have Arteza or Artxx to compare with.
They seem very similar to arrtx and arteza to me..... It can help a lot to put alcohol marker under them on the cheaper papers.... They work OK on the kerby paper altho don't blend super easy
In America, Amazon currently has these marked down to $39.99 (Jan 2024). (Regular price listed as 59.99) So now is a good time to order them in usa.
I did originally buy them but must have received a damaged set because they kept breaking every time I sharpened them. Not bought them again. Very happy with brutfuner squares, arteza and Arttx for now. Thank you for reviewing them dear.

Thanks for a look at these. I have seen people use them. Too expensive for what they are I think. I’m trying out the Faber Castell Classic 60 set at the moment, pleasantly surprised. Got them from The Range for £9.99! And now I am on a ‘no buy’ for two months. I realised I keep buying stuff 😊 🤭
They are definitely priced too high for me when they aren't on sale I totally agree..... Most of the budget pencils are very similar
Those FC are much better than anyone would expect. And their Eco version set.

I want to it's just tricky to find a pencil big enough that doesn't cost more than the pencils lol
@@emmacolours2020 totally understand. Last night I ordered the 300 set for about $63+ today I’m looking at cases that cost $40+. Makes no sense but otherwise I think that amt of pencils become unmanageable and the motivation might go out the door.
I have ordered some cases from temu to check them out.... Fingers crossed

Hi Emma at first glance I did think they looked like arteza too .. the colours are beautiful though..it’s such a shame that these brands are bumping up there prices when they are budget pencils .. I wouldn’t spend £100 on them it’s awful when ppl can’t afford these prices and they just want to colour for health reasons tysmfs Emma 🥰

I was fortunate enough to pick these Kalour up a lot cheaper here in Oz before the price shot up….I do find it very useful to hear you compare them to other brands like Arteza/Brutfuner/Arrtx so that it saves me money buying thise other brands thinking I will get something different 🙄 because those others are much more expensive here in Australia than UK (and everything looks to be much cheaper in the US). All that to say, thanks Emma, a very useful video 😂

Someone commented in a different video they smell bad. Do you notice a strong odor from them. Having asthma this is something I really need to know before purchasing.
Mine don't really smell of anything....whenever you get a weird set though just leave them open in a room and it soon goes
