I live alone and have an 8-quart! I much prefer cooking large amounts less often. Also, you can fit larger cuts of meat, like pork shoulders.
But you have to like leftovers.

The one thing i wanted to see is the very thing I didn’t see. I wanted to see a side by side comparison of the internal pots and the difference between 6&8 qrts.

You did answer. 8 quart will give me leftovers. I’ve had a 6 quart and it died. I wanted to make sure which to buy a second one. Thank you

The condensation cup is used mostly for rice or grains that you don't want to become mushy and retain the separated grains vs a big glob of them.

Lux doesn't even have condensation cup anymore. It is used to collect steam that runs off from the lid in Duo models.

*I love the instant pot so much! I have made quinoa, chicken, chili, asparagus **MyBest.Kitchen** and yogurt in it so far. The only thing that didn't work great was the asparagus. I cooked it for 1 minute and it was still overdone. It is a timesaver and uses much less energy than my gas stove.*

My first time watching your video's. I like them and will watch more:-) If I may make a small suggestion, the background music is a little too high in the edit. I'd rather hear what you're saying and have your voice more prevalent, I like the music, just not that pronounced. Great video and it helped me make a decision, thank you!

Hi, wondering do you like lid/handle on Lux? I think is annoying, can’t grab with whole hand and also lid can’t rest on those handles( which duo has). Thanks

Surprisingly I don’t mind that hole handle. But I prefer duo that it can rest on the handles. Duo is a bit better.

does anyone know what is the max short grain dry rice one can put in 6 qt vs 8 qt? i bought two 6 qt duo as that was the only available in the stores (kind of pricey before when i bought, no sales), now you can get them almost 1/2 off....i never use the yogurt function. i also bought 2 inner pots as i learned needed to cook multiple things sometimes. recently, i had to cook for big group to help the out frontliners....i used the 2 6qt and had both extra inner pots (4 batches)...i found that i may need to get an 8 qt one in the future if i cook for groups again. i cooked the rice and beans separately in the pots and the rice at the bottom end up being too mushy. so if you need to cook rice in it, i think perhaps the max may only be 5 cups dry? when i cooked 3 cups it came out well....i will experiment again in the future when i hvae to do a potluck

One thing I can suggest with IP cooking it’s not the amount food but rather its thickness. So as long as rice has enough room to double it should work. Good luck!
