    Awsome work. Im a Honda mecanics in a dealership and its always entertaining to see people rebuild these awsome machines. as for the Carb. it is absolutely normal for a engine that sitted for a long time. it does not actualy comme from the gaz tank "trough" the filter...its basicaly the old gaz breaking up in the entire system.Gaz starts to break up by a few month but obviously it takes years for that specific result... Great job cleaning it i do it all week long and it needs some skills to make them work great again. try the Honda Carb cleaner...it stinks but its the best stuff I ever used (not because i work there Im not paid to say that hahahha)

    • @2dmechanics581
      @2dmechanics581 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh just seen the part when you said I drilled out the main jet. hahaha when its stuck let it sit entirely in carb cleaner for a night (no more) and if needed get a set of carb jet brush...like 10 bucks on amazon. as for the rebuild kit you are beter of with the original. jets are always good if cleaned properly...rebuild kit are cheaper material china made and tend to cause problem over time. still its ok to use them just need some more adjustement.

      Thanks man I appreciate it! This was a fun project. Lucky for me i was able to save that carb. It runs really good. Whereas it still has the original piston and rings, I'm considering replacing them this winter. It smokes a little. Its hardly noticeable but i want to correct it before it does any damage.

      Yah I'm pretty sure I did. It was almost impossible to drill. Even though the bit was smaller than the jet it didn't want to go. Im guessing a piece of rust from the tank got embedded in the jet.

    • @BrandonLund

    Looking very sharp! I have the exact one and restoring it. I did the same thing you did with the wheels but mine are leaking. I don't know what exactly I did wrong. The gaskets are different sizes as thickness. Which goes which ? I will try to switch them around to see if that will help.

      I dont remember a thickness difference but I know one is slighter larger than the other. I didn't use any sealant. I made sure the groove was spotless then I wiped the o-rings with silicone grease to keep them slippery. I have not put any air in the tires since I originally installed them.
