Tennessee music! greatest sounds going. 45 is still a youngin' to us old timers. An old timer told me life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer to the end, the faster it rolls. Always enjoy "out of the woods".
I've lived in a lot of different areas of the USA Nathan. Michigan, Hawaii, California, Georgia, and Oklahoma. As a photographer I have been to even more. This is one of the most beautiful places in our Country. Your drone shots show everyone just how incredible it is. Thanks for the videos, all your hard work, and belated Happy Birthday young man. John here, photographing the beauty of the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y'all.
Looks like you could use a little 3x3 foot deck to stand on to read the meters outside of the kiln, Nathan, although that little step stool gets the job done in a pinch. Great video thumbs up.
Happy birthday Nathan. I did learn something from your video, in the summer I live in a kiln 😂. You could ship your wet lumber to the desert, just set it out, there will not be any mold on your boards!
Love the sound of that Kubota engine. She started right up, and purred like a big cat. By the way, the tracking feature on those new cameras is amazing. I think they add a lot to your videos.
Yep Nathan, I was a Sheriff’s Deputy in the 1970’s here in South Texas. I’ve concealed carry ever since. I’ve only had to pull it once and that was when a guy high on meth tried to run me over in the parking lot of the grocery store. I that God I didn’t have to pull the trigger. A woman near by called the police and with the description they knew who it was. It wasn’t his first rodeo.
Happy Birthday, Nathan! Well deserved. Thanks for the kiln explanation, I definitely am enjoying the latest high resolution cameras. Multi-view is really cool.
Happy Birthday, Nathan. This was a truly informative video. I'm on the verge of buying a kiln, and your input is very helpful. I pray that you live a really long life. At 45 you are just getting warmed up. 😊
Happy Birthday, Nathan. I knew there was some reason you and I connected. I am a retired LEO living just a few miles South of you. Thanks for the informative and entertaining content. Where has the rooster disappeared too?
Any heavy wood like sycamore button ball when you get them you have to stand them up on end and let them naturally drain out the bottom. Don't forget to leave an air gap underneath them.Stand them on end for like 2 weeks to a month and then lie them down then you won't get those checks in them
Nathan, great truthful advice on kiln drying, I also agree with your assessment on log quality and cutting for maximum return rather than volume yield, the cost of making a silk purse out of a sows ear, just makes expensive sows ear's. Merry Christmas
Happy Birthday 🎉🎂🥓🎊 … I’m a Dec. baby also … just an older one … I have experience with the woodmizer mills , but not kilns … good information … I enjoy your work .
You are a young looking 45. You mention sticker stain, but your buddy Robert Milton recommended in one of his videos that he used hard wood stickers on soft wood and soft wood stickers on hard wood to minimize sticker stain when kiln drying lumber.
Happy Belated Birthday Nathan. I saw this posted days ago on Patreon & just got to watch tonight. Want to thank you for really taking the time to explain the many processes & advantages of owning your own Kiln. Hope you had a wonderful Birthday Dinner at Italy 🇮🇹 diner in Tennessee 🤠🙏🎄

What are the chances the only 2 people I follow on TH-cam were prior law enforcement officers? Besides Nathan here at Out of the Woods, I follow Daniel at AFH. Never knew they were prior law enforcement until about 6 months into following them. Must be a vibe they put out. I’m a retired 30yr city cop here in Illinois. Oh also. Happy Birthday. I wish I was 45 again.

Have you considered getting LED lights for your new barn? If you get the right ones, you can run them on a generator or a battery.

Happy belated birthday Nathan. I appreciate you and your videos.
Have you ever done a video talking about how you made the jump from cop to sawyer/homesteader? I figure there’s an interesting story there.
