Brings tears to my eyes seeing this place. I haven't been in so long - but I have so many fond memories of going here with my late grandmother. I wish we could go together one more time. Thanks for bringing back so many good memories.
Great family friendy older park! I have been there many times. The park is almost like stepping back in time to the parks of the old days. Great review. It looks like you had a blast, and it was good to see that your mom had a good time. Really appreciate the great job you have done exhibiting PA attractions.
For someone who goes crazy over everything at Walt Disney World, I just can't imagine you ever liking this. This place was never in a million years up to Disney standards or quality. I went several times to Dutch Wonderland as a young teenager and I'm a Pennsylvanian too. It may be a "family friendly" place, but I'd forgo it in a heartbeat to be at Disney instead. I can't believe they have the nerve to call that a monorail!!!
I'm 54, my parents took our family when I was a kid, my wife and I started taking my daughter when she was little, we loved it. And the water area was very much loved on those hot 90+ degree days!
I went here as a kid a few times and loved it. Then, I didn't go until I was around 38 years old. It was very nostalgic and some of the same rides were still there. I do intend to visit again some day.
Wow! I was here as a little kid in the seventies! I totally remember the Wonder House!! And the sky ride - my mother almost lost her flip flops on that! Thanks for the memories!
Took my daughter here when she was little, we used to do a camping trip to Lancaster every year and went here or Hershey. She still talks about this park because it was perfect for children. Thank you for this video!
We’re season pass holders at Dutch Wonderland and love taking our son there year after year. The Dinosaur area is where they do their trick or treat trail every year. They do wonderful decorations for Halloween and Christmas as well. For Christmas time they have a great light show they put on as well. We would’ve loved to have met you there, our son is a big fan and watches every video, once in awhile when he eats, he does the Morrow slow-mo eating enjoyment thing. So wonderful seeing so many local things you’ve done while visiting family, have safe travels when you head back to Florida.
Wow! it's been over 50 years since I went to Dutch Wonderland one of the happiest times in my life. Thank you now that I know it is still around I have to bring my family there.
We don't live far from Lancaster and we used to take our kids to Dutch Wonderland every year. They loved it. Hands down best amusement park for kids (besides Disney 🙂) So glad you enjoyed yourself!!
Even though I'm not a kid anymore, I really love this park for its simplicity and laid back atmosphere. My favorite areas are Exploration Island and the gift shop (I love gift shops).
I’m thrilled to see you were I spent many years taking my kids camping. Thomas the Tank Engine was there in June and September in nearby Strasbourg. It’s worth it to take a day to visit the railroad and the museum. Dutch Wonderland is really a great place for the kids!! Have a blast!
I haven't been there since...gosh, 1985 or 6 I think. When I was a kid my folks always took me to Lancaster for the summer. We grew out of it after we moved. I really wish I could go back there again. It looks amazing.
My parents use to take me to Dutch Wonderland when I was a kid. Loved it. There use to be a Wax Museum right next to it. Yes I have been in the wonder House! It has been years since I have been there. We go to Dollywood a lot. Thank you for sharing and taking me back down memory lane.
That wonder house thing made me super dizzy just watching it 😳 I also remember the chuck e cheese band they use to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid 😆they were creepy looking 😳😅🙃
Took my boys here many times with my dear Mom. They and she loved it. We saw a rainbow there and she took it as a sign from heaven. 🌈. One of our favorite parks.
Nate we loved Lancaster and it’s simplicity. They used to have a little water park with little water slides at the back of Dutch Wonderland. I’m not sure if that’s still there. We used to stay every-time at a Ramada Inn that was across the street from Dutch Wonderland. Back then that Ramada was a nice clean hotel and they had a decent restaurant /bar attached with country line dancing and country bands on certain nights. I don’t know what it is now. I think it changed ownership and wasn’t that great anymore because we eventually stopped staying there. My Mom also used to love the Sight and Sound theater. It was special to her. She wanted to go back again but unfortunately didn’t get that chance. The whole Lancaster area was special to me and my family. Many trips there every summer. We are from Long Island so it was only a 4 hour trip but tradition every year. Eating at the Good and Plenty. Miller’s and Dienner’s. Shopping for handcrafted goods. We bought handcrafted lighthouses there made by the Amish to be put on our front lawns. It was a once a year trip for us at least. Many good memories. 😊
Love this place. Went for the first time as a teenager taking my boyfriend at the time's 6 year old niece. now I have an 8 year old stepdaughter (who is not as into the thrill rides and loves family rides) and a nearly 4 year old stepdaughter who is tall enough to ride Merlin's Mayhem! I can't wait to take them this summer - I'm literally taking off work a Tuesday or Wednesday to take them since I'm thinking it will be less crowded. It will be the 4 year old's first inverted coaster
Once again you had me laughing and screaming along!! 😂🤣😂🤣 what a fun park! Loved it! So happy to see your mom and sister going on the adventures with you!! ❤️🙏 fun times!!
Went here as a little kid many times!! the kingdom coaster was the first real rollercoaster I’ve ever been on and I think I remember being unamused with the wonderhouse and thinking “why are we just sitting in a moving shed...” lol. Looking back now it was a pretty damn cool unique ride, and interesting to find out that the original owners built it themselves. Lots of fond childhood memories there, its a great little park. Loved the video!!!!
We loved this place so much. Coolduder, my son, grew up in this park. We used to stay in the Amish area and have such an incredible time. Perfect place for little ones.
Most of the stuff the park has now, they didn't have when I was a kid. For instance, it wasn't fairy tale themed that I can recall. It did have the castle, which brought back HUGE memories, but it also had a shooting gallery, where you could shoot all these animatronic things, one of which was a man sitting at a piano that always gave me the creeps as a kid! But Dutch Wonderland has changed drastically from when I was a kid back in the 80's. They didn't even have roller coasters!
Aw I miss Dutch wonderland. I haven’t been in ages. I remember the dukes boat ride b4 they refurbished it, and the frog prince water acrobatics show was my favorite. Every time my family and I take a trip out there we stay at the country in and suites hotel right across the street from Dutch wonderland. I’m excited to maybe stay at the new Cartoon Network hotel they built as well.
The spinning house ride is my all time favorite style but the best one is in Six Flags, New Jersey. It’s an entire haunted house style experience and the house spins around you. I always ride it first when I go. If you liked Dutch Wonderland you will love the one at Six Flags!
I have been somewhat homebound, fell and have a compression spine fracture, so I have really enjoyed watching your videos. It has kept me quite entertained., especially seeing the rollar coaster, ride which I will not be able to go on, (sad face.).Love how excited you get and love seeing your mom and Bonnie again! Enjoy your time together!! Love the "Dole" part and Bonnies laugh when her frozen treat fell to the ground. Had to watch that part several times! LOL Your sister would make a great sidekick on your videos!
I love that you're originally from PA (like me!) and we get to experience all the awesome PA attractions when you go home to visit!!! I live in Orlandoo now too but when we go to visit family in PA Dutch Wonderland is a staple!!! We went for the first time last year and fell in love!
You are so awesome. I haven’t been to DW in a few years & you’re video inspired us to return with the kids. Thank you! You have such a great disposition!
I went on a ride like the Dutch House many years ago at Six Flags New England before it became a Six Flags. It was Riverside Park before it was bought out. I loved that ride.
You would have loved Santa's Village and Kiddieland in illinois. Unfortunately they closed 😕 you have to try the white eagle in great America six flags for wooden coasters
We’re headed to this area in a few weeks and we have free entry through our season passes from a sister park. I was on the fence about stopping by, but it looks completely charming. And then… Dole Whip! Debate over. We will be going for sure.
Yes I did ride a wonderhouse a couple of times in The Netherlands they are very common in amusement parks. The best one out here is called Villa Volta and it's highly themed. You can find it in the Efteling. I am sure you will love that theme park :)
I’m really glad you found the Wonder House. Theirs is really good because its so small compared to the regular Mad Houses built by Vekoma or Mack rides. Six Flags and Alton towers come to mind of the ones I rode ... but there are at least 3 here in U.S.A and the rest are mostly in Europe.
Hex at Alton Towers in the UK is an absolutley awesome wonderhouse, the themeing is amazing, the sounds and smells are awesome. Check out videos on it if you can :) im sure Jackie must have done it whilst over here :) x
Hey Nate! Great video again! I grew up going to Dutch Wonderland and the Wonder House is one of my favorite rides in the park, besides the antique cars and the sky ride.
Six flags Great Adventure in NJ has a wonder house type ride called Houdini’s Great Escape. We will not ride something like that again. When we did Houdini’s Great Escape someone freaked out and got up and tried to get out and almost got hurt; very traumatic for us. Great video. We will need to make it to Dutch Wonderland sometime. There is also a Disney Outlet at the Hershey outlets too. We always have to visit both stores when we are in the area.
Great video. I first discovered Dutch Wonderland in the 70's. It was literally in the country on the outskirts of Lancaster. Our family never went in but there use to be a Dutch Wonderland Wax Museum next to the park that was one of the best I have ever been in. Sadly it closed some time ago.
So much fun! I think this park has a sister park near me in western PA. It called Idlewild! Their mascot is Duke the dragon, too! My family and I love your videos!
I can't do spinny type rides. I wouldn't be able to do the house one. It makes me nauseous. I went on one similar at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. It's called Houdini's Great Escape.
I used to go here with my grandparents as a kid. I have many fond memories here. Its so built up since I was little, used to be alot more farmland surrounding it even 20 years ago
I love this so much. The wonder house there looks fun. My favorite one has been long gone, it was at Hershey in the 1980s called Frontier Meeting House. Two great ones that are still around are Houdini's Great Escape at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey and another named Merlin's Mystical Mansion at Clark Trading Post in Lincoln, New Hampshire. They are always a fun ride.
Hi Nate! Love your channel! There is another house like the Wonder House in Lincoln, NH at Clark's Trading Post!! It is called Merlin's Mystical Mansion and we try to go every year. From seeing the Wonder House, Merlin's will knock your socks off!! Hope to see you there someday!!
Its so nice to see those spinning house rides! Idlewild Park used to have one actually! It was called Dizzy Lizzy. It closed a few years ago. Was very themed to a gold mine. Fun ride!
Your enthusiasm and joy are absolutely infectious (the only thing we should be getting infected with these days). I nagged my dad to take me to Dutch Wonderland on a family trip to Amish Country when I was about 8 or 9 years old...Don't remember the Dole Whip but after seeing that we can get it somewhere within 500 miles of where we live, it's now on the "must-visit" list. Actually, thanks to your videos, my husband is insisting we make a pilgrimage to the PA theme parks this summer!
Never got to go to Dutch Wonderland when I was a kid, but I'm sure I'll take either mine or someone else's I know kids there one day. Thanks for sharing!
This dude might one of the most wholesome dudes I’ve ever seen
I was just gonna make the same comment. I love watching his videos they are so relaxing.
Brings tears to my eyes seeing this place. I haven't been in so long - but I have so many fond memories of going here with my late grandmother. I wish we could go together one more time.
Thanks for bringing back so many good memories.
I Agree. As A Teen Myself, I Found My Memories Of Going Here Great : )
Did not know about the Disney Character warehouse that is cool. My kids loved Dutch Wonderland when they were little!!

Sooo glad I am not on that gondola and got to experience that from a safe distance.
“The back side of water!!!”You got me laughing there!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💕
😂😂
o2h o2h o2h
😂🤣😂
The only problem is when you were born and raised in Florida your a Disney kid and there no other park that comes even close.
Agree! He is very “calming”
Oh Nate..... you and your monorails! 🚝 💚

My uncle lived in Lancaster, and we went there in 1967, when I was 6. The home movies from that time are hysterical.
I’m 64. Went there as a kid. Then took MY kids.
That little revolving house is classic!
That was a really cute Wonderland theme park, thank you for taking us on the rides and how much fun you all had
I went here as a kid a few times and loved it. Then, I didn't go until I was around 38 years old. It was very nostalgic and some of the same rides were still there. I do intend to visit again some day.

Are you wearing a magic band in another park? Lol. I am glad you are enjoying your time with your family.
The expressions on your and Bonnie's face when her dolewhip fell after making such a deal about how much she got.
