Anna I have to recommend the Biba 'Stevie' jeans, they come in a couple of colours but I have the black and they have kept their shape and colour despite numerous washes in those crappy ancient washers in my university halls. They're also so comfy I can wear them for hours in lectures but they're so flattering and like a good 'substantial' jean that can be dressed up, y'know? They're a bit pricier than RI and Topshop but sooooo worth it! They'll last so much longer than the others!
