Please do a video where you look back at your old looks (esp pre Ralph) and rate them/tell us how you’d change them to be your style now, etc 🙏🏽 I’ve looked your style for sooooo long so this would be super interesting!
I respect anyone who uses this app. I feel like I would hyperfixate on uploading all my stuff and then never use it again! However, definitely would be helpful (especially the cost breakdown which I try to actively ignore…)
I love the data! And appreciate you being open and honest with us - it’s actually tough to balance loving style, with wanting to be more conscious with consumption.
Seriously considering digitising my wardrobe for next year….. I’m an ex retail manager and the analytics are REALLY appealing for me 😂😂. Also, I want to wear more/use what I have and see what ‘I’m missing’…. So it’s on my ‘think about’ list 🙃
I think this is such a great accountability tool! Your job elicits a much higher consumption of clothes as well as a higher average cost per item/wear naturally. However, as a person who wears a lab coat at work, I definitely need to get my own cost per wear down.😅
The data and analytics here are fascinating. Thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, do you put in the full retail value of items gifted by brands, or do you count those as zero cost?
Yep, tops is my largest category! Accessories is number two - what can I say, I love scarves and belts! Colourwise, I love blue (45%), with beige (mostly cream in my case), and red following on. The other colours are 1 and 2%, and are sometimes just a touch of colour in a print. I would like a few more colour options, such as burgundy, cream and navy, just so the nuances are better represented (I'm sure there are other colours that are missing too, khaki for one, without there being thousands to choose from). I love the new analytics and the calendar function. But I'm missing being able to add individual items (as well as outfits) to the calendar - this is useful as I'll only end up duplicating outfits (an option to merge duplicates would help this), and if I change out a pair of shoes, bag, coat during the day these aren't reflected in the statistics in terms of the date worn (even though I update the number of times used). Autumn and spring are my biggest categories, although they are only a little bigger than summer and winter. 68% is over 3 years (45% over 5yrs), which is better than I thought. The utilisation only works properly if you have every item as part of an outfit, which is why I'd really liked to be able to add individual items and not just outfits to the calender. I get most wear out of outerwear, followed by shoes and bags, dresses are least worn. On average my items have been worn 33 times, unsurprisingly bags have the highest cpw. I'm the same as Anna as far as outfits go, I tweak them loads, so again, this goes back to the calender function (yes, I'm a stuck record, but this is an important feature to me)!
I agree being able to add items to the calendar would be really helpful. I never wear the exact same outfit twice, but I endlessly repeat my favourite items. I also change during the day - work- casual-dog walking- going out, even might need to add a thicker top layer if the temperature dips in the evening . I have made a lot of outfits on the app but rarely copy them exactly, nor do I have time to make a new outfit in the morning after I've decided what to wear. Being able to quickly add a bunch of items to the day on the calendar would be great
I love those statistics! def oldest daughter approved haha also I wouldn't beat myself up too much about the value of wardrobe - with Your curated collection I'm sure it's similar to someone that buys loads of fast fashion and cheaper brands! what's important is that You utilise most of Your clothes!
We love statistics! The tops category is also my largest category but bottoms are a close runner up - only have two pieces less in the bottoms category. Summer is my biggest category (which there's absolutely no reason for living in Copenhagen 😂). If you wanted to share a bit from the investment tab- you could just mention the percentages for the spend by category and not the actual number as that would be quite interesting 🧐
Love these videos! It's amazing the amount of analytics it provides. I know you don't use it anymore but thank you for recommending Whering as it was your video that inspired me to download it and I find these apps so helpful! Whenever I feel uninspired for outfits or need a rejig it is so useful!
These type of video are so up my street!! Thanks for sharing Anna. You inspired me to start my own digital wardrobe - I just finished my first full year of using Whering and have been loving the statistics! Cost per wear has been most surprising to me as I used to buy more expensive items for special occasions and then hardly wear them while shying away from having e.g., more than one coat or colorful sneakers that are part of my daily rotation most seasons. So it gave me a new perspective on where to spend/save and makes me a more conscious (and dare I say smart) shopper. Overall, getting dressed is way more fun and easier for me :) Btw, tops is also my largest category, my color wheel looks quite different though. I want to challenge myself buying more 2nd hand (currently at 80/20 split) and getting rid of things I have only worn like once in a year (besides occasion wear). I could go on on and haha ;-) Looking forward to continuing this journey with you!
Thank you Anna! loved watching that video ❤️ I have almost as many tops as bottoms, and (MUCH) more outerwear than shoes - I definitely have to spot purchasing blazer. It’s an obsession … I discovered indyx with your previous video and got completely addicted. Best time investment I’ve made in the past year !
Hey Anna 🤗 I love the idea of a digital wardrobe but I am way too lazy to ever do something like that (and I have too much clothes, shoes and bags 🫣) but the analytics you can get from doing it is so so interesting. I cannot wait for your packing video ♥️ xxx
I love everything about this way of tracking your wardrobe, the data!!! I especially love the data part because I’m a researcher, so data is my jam. But the amount of work/time it would take me to tally the enormous amount of clothes, shoes, bags, I have just prevents me from doing this. I downloaded the Style DNA app because I wanted my color analysis, but I haven’t used the app at all after that. It’s just overwhelming to even think of spending so much time scanning and taking photos of ALL my clothes for all seasons, and look up what I paid and when I purchased them… you are doing great though! ❤
Anna...now I understand why you say Havaianas the way you do!! There's an A before the I, it's hav-AIA-nas (instead of Havianas 😆) I'm Portuguese, and always thought the way you say it was a bit odd/some pronunciation hiccup 😅
I wonder if the silver is a mislabelled grey? I’ve done that before on Indyx as well. I’ve just wasted money on Vinted items that have failed so also need to do in person second hand items. My town is full of charity shops!
Really interesting video Anna, I have Indyx but haven’t uploaded everything yet, this has inspired me to do better 😊. Question for you, what do you do with gifts ( not brands you work with) but presents from friends / loved ones ?
My style has definitely changed post children. I am in the same place of rebuilding my wardrobe to suit my new life/lifestyle. I feel like my analytics would look extremely similar. Like it makes sense lol.
50% of her wardrobe is new so she just uses the images from online. Then also getting a 'close enough' item in a good quality image is easier/faster/clearer than photographing the exact item - so just google what you're adding (for eg: red cropped cardigan gold buttons) and add a professional photo that looks closest to your actual item.
@@margarethueske2965 This is the third app of this type I've used, so I've been able to re-use a lot of images, but even then I didn't have original images for everything. I did a Google search and have used images fairly close to my item, and for the odd thing I've taken my own as some websites (Sezane is the one that comes to mind), don't have images of the item not being worn.
You can look for the item on the website where you got it and screenshot it. A lot of brand have pictures without the background. With the app you can import it from you photo library folder. I did it for all my wardrobe because it's way faster than taking pictures. If I wasn't able to find the specific item I just looked for similar ones on google or using google lens. You just need a picture without background and you're good to go
Love a data driven video! Maybe you could do a follow up video about some more nuanced goals/intentions you have moving forward. You could begin tracking the new data in 2025, or do quarterly follow ups. Keep more coming just like this!
Interesting 🤔...but not for me, i know what shop, how i shop, my budget etc.. This would make me very nervous and bc the fashion side is for me a mood, a feelin I do think its cool & can be very helpful for those who needs the overview, helping hand. ✌🏻🍂
Hi Anna, I loved this video! I just finished adding the details to my Indyx. I started using it 2 months ago and only logged what I have out since spring, so I still miss part of my wardrobe. I make a lot of my clothes (knit and sew) so I decided to create an hashtag for "handmade" to be able to calculate my proportion of handmade vs purchased items (53% handmade, which considering I don't make shoes and bags it's quite good). For the handmade items I logged in the price of fabric/yarn (and no you won't save money 😄). I'm sharing some of my data here for other curious people (like me)/data lovers. I found it very insightful and I truly appreciated your honesty, so here we go. 39% tops, 29% bottoms, 17% shoes, 7% one piece, 6% bag, 2% outerwear color: blue 26%, followed by 20% white and 13% black 75% new, 25% second hand main season spring 31%, followed by summer and fall at 25% 41% less than 1 year, 38% 1-2, 10% 3-5 years, 11% more than 5 years old item added the past year = +46 (more than I thought :S) Utilization one month: 38% Category # wear: 39 total wardrobe, but shoes are at #1 with 56 number of wear. CPW average $5, shoes are the highest at $17. And the investment category is a true eye opener 😅, I spend the most on shoes (not surprising - 44%), followed by bottoms and tops (both at 21%).
Anna, have you done a round up of the best thrifting/shopping in Brighton anywhere you could sign post me to? We’re staying a few nights in a few weeks time and I’d love a targeted list of hotspots! 🤎

As someone who keeps a spreadsheet for literally everything (even my makeup collection!) I am LOVING this video!! 😍🤩

I use Index, because of you! Its great, so fun!

Interesting question 🤔.. (no hate, no sarcasm, just Interesting question)
✌🏻🍂
We’re quite opposite! I have a much wider array of colours… largest category, at 23% is accessories, etc. It’s fascinating

Totally agree with adding individual items! I ended making a couple of outfits that only consist of 1 item like a jacket, but that's quite annoying.

So interesting to watch but I am def not disciplined enough to do this or have a large enough wardrobe to be academic about it.
Loved this 😍

nice video! so interesting to see the data. glad you shared this!
Would you ever consider doing it for Ralph to better manage his wardrobe and purchases? Do you see how it would help ?

Don't attempt to upload your photos in one go! It took me three months, a couple of hours at a time
Hi Anna, a clever update for the app would be for it to register if you’ve recreated an outfit you’ve already created and then log it as a repeat. ❤
Anna...now I understand why you say Havaianas the way you do!! There's an A before the I, it's hav-AIA-nas (instead of Havianas 😆)

I load them up and add a $1 cost. I tried with adding $0 but 0 is also the default for when I forget to add a value, so I decided that $1 works for me
What about using a tag like “gift” for gifted items?
Exactly the content I was looking for today! Truly in my autumn girl era 🍁🍂
I’m an oldest daughter who loves fashion and manages a data team for my job - this is truly my ideal video lolol
You look so beautiful in this video!! I love these videos! Which camera do you use? Xx
I’m a Brit and I’ve just moved to NY. I’d say pack layers as at the moment it’s still quite warm, but cooler in the mornings. Highs of 26/28! ❤️
Index you should pay you for getting into that depth! The cost per wear is what I find the most interesting and useful to justify a purchase.
My style has definitely changed post children. I am in the same place of rebuilding my wardrobe to suit my new life/lifestyle. I feel like my analytics would look extremely similar. Like it makes sense lol.
Hi Anna! Love the idea of the app. How do you get such good pics of your clothes? Hanging, flat lay?
I'm a stylist on the app, flat lay!! Hanging is a nightmare

Damn Anna this app is incredibly fun!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
I have tops as my top category tol but I was surprised by how much. I need to put more investment into outerwear and footwear.
❤

color: blue 26%, followed by 20% white and 13% black
75% new, 25% second hand
main season spring 31%, followed by summer and fall at 25%
41% less than 1 year, 38% 1-2, 10% 3-5 years, 11% more than 5 years old
item added the past year = +46 (more than I thought :S)
Utilization one month: 38%
Category # wear: 39 total wardrobe, but shoes are at #1 with 56 number of wear. CPW average $5, shoes are the highest at $17.
And the investment category is a true eye opener 😅, I spend the most on shoes (not surprising - 44%), followed by bottoms and tops (both at 21%).
I made a lot of my jewellery. I use my own name as the brand name.
Do you keep an Open Closet on Indyx? If so, what’s your username?
Anna, have you done a round up of the best thrifting/shopping in Brighton anywhere you could sign post me to? We’re staying a few nights in a few weeks time and I’d love a targeted list of hotspots! 🤎
