So, I debated whether or not I should post a comment on here in response to a few of the comments that feel as if this reaction isnt genuine. But ive seen more and more and have individually responded to all of them. So to save the next person the time, ill lay it out here.
The reason I'm BEYOND expressive when it came to this reaction, is because it was genuinely horrifying for one, and tep, I naturally have a "kid in a candy shop" personailty. I go from 0-1000 depending on what Im listening to/watching. Especially for the first time, and DEFINITELY when it comes to something like this.
I base my reactions on how a song/video makes me FEEL and resonates with me.
If youve been here long enough, youve seen when I think somethings just "cool". Youve seen when I think something is "FUCKING SWEET".
Youve also seen me when I'm genuinely not doing okay.
In this video, I was all of those things. Not only did I find this to be genius (the lit), I found this to be shocking, horrfying, and genuinely re-traumatizing for someone whos dealt with bits and pieces of this story.
When I was shocked, I was shocked. When I was about to break, I almost broke. When I smiled, I meant it. When i Jump, I mean it. (Hence the overly expressive jaw drops and big eyes. Thats genuinely who i am, and who ive always been as a person. Not just as a reactor).
I do these for you guys. To feel those same familiar feelings you did the first time YOU listened to them, just with a buddy. Thats what reactions are all about.
But I also do this for my mental health. Its a platform that allows me to express myself with friends Ive never even met before. And sometimes, people need a pick me up and a smile. And from what I read from a lot of you, Ive never been so comfortable being me.
This is also a 13 minute long endevour to an artist Ive never heard before, in a music style I dont hear unless I play Skyrim. But hes just bettter at it. So not only will I not catch everything on a first time go to something this long, I was also stuck on the parts of the song that resonated with my trauma. Which got me a little side tracked and that caused me to miss the twist. It happens.
Just a food for thought and insight. All in all, im high energy. TheLoneRAGER isnt a name I took because it sounded cool.
Its because I dont need anything else but the music to keep me hype af when Im feeling alone.

I know exactly where you're coming from, especially in regard to the re-traumatizing. I came from a "Screech" kind of dysfunctional family on the "wrong side of the tracks," with two alcoholic parents. Had to work hard to break the "history repeats itself" cycle. I'm also autistic (ASD), so my emotions tend to be amplified--and Ren is a great emotion-amplifier. Not once did I get a sense that you were faking anything!
You do you your reactions (what I’ve seen so far are great. Everyone responds in their own unique way to Rens music it is so raw and visceral that we all deal with the emotions he evokes in our own way. There is no right or wrong there is only reacting. So you missed the twist so what! You felt the pain and heartache of the tales and that is the true power of REN’s craft. Thankyou for your honesty and open heart and mind.❤

I’ve seen the comments. Why would anyone think ur reaction is fake when on TH-cam ppl upload compilation videos of reactors “Losing It” (that’s the name of a Ren song to react to if u haven’t already) to this exact song. Even if it’s the end of the song it doesn’t matter. There are videos uploaded of reactors losing it to “Hi Ren”. He’s very talented & is so different then what’s out right now that his vids & songs do that to ppl.
I had a reaction like urs the only difference is I’m not a TH-camr so my reaction wasn’t captured in real time.

Here's the origin story of the trilogy 🤩😁🤯
This wasn't originally a trilogy story. Ren read in the paper one day with a small article about a 14 yr old boy killing a young prostitute with a knife in an attempted robbery. Knife crime had been skyrocketing in London at this time. Later that same evening the boy had been shot and killed by the police . It disturbed him, so he set out to write a commentary not just on senseless violence, but on how desensitized we've become to it. The words he ends both Jenny and Screech's Tales with is "It's such a Shame" we say these words all to often and just move on, without a second thought. The the lead inspector at the scene said " So Young, It's such a shame".
Violets Tale was written over 2 years later adding yet another layer of commentary by Ren. He wanted us to consider not only generational violence but to make us look at all angles of society that we turn a blind eye to. Both characters are born out of violence on that cruel night and then both killed with brutal violence in the same night 14yrs later. Also, his lyrics have even more meaning when you read in between the lines. For example he doesn't say what Jenny was doing or why she wanted to escape from this place & life, or why Screech thought she was older saying at Patrick's door "I left this lady lying on the floor". Could it be the way she's dressed & her heavy makeup? Also why is a 14yr old girl out so late at night alone in a sketchy area wearing high heels & that "she's walked it a thousand times before" everything points to Jenny being an underage prostitute, showing us what Ren writes has reason & makes us think. There's no fat on the bone, every word is weighed & has meaning.
Also, how can both these siblings be so cursed? Jenny has the same traits as her mother Violet, quiet, voiceless, and timid. Where as Screech mirrors his father Stevie in every way, Loud, obnoxious, and easily prone & provoked into violence. They didn't know one another and had never met their biological parents. What made these kids so much like their parents? Was it simply Nature, inherited traits due to their genetic make-up OR Nurture, being brought up in the broken governmental system filled with, mistreated & in many cases, abused children? He organically takes us on this journey, leaving us to think shouldn't we be doing better job in this so called "advanced, wealthy, 1st world society.

I'm excited to go through these rabbit holes with you there are quite a few artists that we as a community really enjoy that really are very intellectually stimulating and actual art wheel of finding new people because the new perspectives are fun to listen to and the whole point of the channel on the reactions to some of these songs that we truly enjoy.
I'm sorry it hit you so hard a lot of us have past issues and talking about it is actually very good it helps heal when does deal with some really hard topics and his ability to story-tell is so vivid that I've compared him to Picasso in the past. I love your reactions but fair warning, while some of Ren's stuff is lighter (he also has a band called The Big Push that does great upbeat street performances) he has a lot of dark songs. For me this one stung but I mostly got through the first time. He has at least 3 others that I full on bawl every time I watch. Ren has a lot of his history out there, about his illness, his mental health, for lack of a better term his dark times. He shares it all honestly though so it hits hard and yet still feels healing in a way. Welcome to the rabbit hole... in fairness on the last video you asked for it. There's no turning back.

A really good one to check out that's on a whole different level that's just Ren is What You Want I know that hunger and losing it will be requested so I'm not worried about those but a lot of people miss out on what you want and it's awesome it's an homage to the Beastie Boys there are other guys in the video with him but the only part they help on is the chorus.
I have shed many tears listening to Ren. You hit the nail on the head. He is in the process of creating a series with his cinematographer to present to Netflix. He shared this during a recent interview he did. Grateful that you think of your viewers and their emotional wellbeing.

From what I've read in comments, Ren wrote the Tale of Jenny after he read a news story about a teenage boy killing a teenage prostitute during a robbery. (Subtext - what was Jenny, a 14 yr old girl, doing walking the streets of London late at night wearing high heels? Mmm hmm..😞)

You hit it again with your reaction! The trilogy of Tales is one of my favorites by Ren. While the Tales are dark, you'll find Power and Humble at the opposite end of the emotional spectrum (even though they still mention pain, violence and depression). In fact, that's what I get from Ren the most; he's the epitome of someone who can flip the darkness around and turn it into something positive.
Oh yeah, P.S. if Ren has a retake, it's him flowing over someone else's song.
I recommend Freckled Angels and Sick Boi before watching his most recent songs 🤗 merely for context.
I always say Ren makes music for adults and I think he is so good at it because he's actually served his apprenticeship, not only in music but in life aswel.
He isn't some bubbled kid that thinks they know it all n thinks they have the right to tell "normal" everyday working people people what they should think or believe.

Don't worry run has some really great positive music to and some fun raps so don't expect this emotional rollercoaster to go on forever although we will have you on a little bit of one for the first few songs because those are the ones that are so impactful they touch everyone and you are the only one that we have watched that has been speechless but as I said earlier the topics that he brings up sometimes really need to be addressed even though it's hard.

Ren wrote jenny & screech after being shocked hearing that a young local girl had been killed by a 14 year old boy. It does happen. It also shows how generational traits are passed on, jenny was quiet like violet and screech was violent like his father.
I enjoyed your reaction. Ren is definitely captivating! The Tales are so well done, especially Violet’s Tale.

This new singing story telling / one take video concept is something Ren wants to take to Netflix and begin a series of his own. Hi Ren, The tale of Jenny and Screech and Violets tale are proof of concept for that project and I would watch it faithfully.

Right now, Ren and Sleep Token are BOTH on my priority lists as Ive also never heard anything like them. Both are SO intellectual with the lyrical choices and story telling. Both are GENIUSES expressing trauma. Ive yet to get into Rens more upbeat material, but from what i HAVE heard so far...... Speechless.

I always feel Sic Boi is a good follow up to Hi Ren. That help the newbies understand Ren just a little more about who he is and what he’s gone through. Chalk Outlines then closes it. Everything else is just bonus. Dive deep into his back ground before listening to his two latest releases though

So, another comment after watching for the algorithm. I didn't get disappointed, you're a real good reactor. Maaaaaybe the mimic is sometimes a little over the top, but maybe that's just who you are and how you react, I'll find out soon. :)
There's a lot of very, very deep songs incoming. You better prepare yourself. Stuff like "How to be me (live)" is tough, but songs like "Su*c*de" and "For Joe", both at least partially about a friend who he lost when he was very very young, are heartbreaking. "Depression" and "Crutch" too. But there's also a LOT of real fun stuff to look forward to - "Losing it - Fisher retake" is my favorite, but also "What you want",.. you just can't go wrong with the dude. Almost all lyrics are clever as fuck, like in "Money Game", 1&2, 3 is incoming next, "Dear God",..
You seem like you're enjoying this as much as I did when I first stumbled upon him, and this pure joy for his art won't leave me. I still have lots of songs to look forward to that I haven't listened to, but each and every track is a banger in it's own way. So much talent, such a heartwarming way of delivering the music. In my opinion he's the artist of my lifetime - 40 years old now, loving music, loving many genres, haven't met such a talent yet. I'm 100% positive he'll break through the roof completely in the next months. Each friend I shared his music with is a fan now.
5 Things to blow your mind about REN
1. He is self taught.
2. All the videos you just watched, and Most of his videos in general are one takes.
3. He uses the environment around him, for acoustics and for dramatic effects.
4. He has reoccurring themes throughout his videos almost like Easter eggs, all his music is connected like movements in a symphony.
4. He is being discovered by world as we speak, and the amazing thing is he is doing it through word of mouth and reactions like yours. A lot of his reactors are likewise seeing a big increase in subscribers. It is kind of a win win win situation. He wins, you win, and we win with awesome intricate songs and dozens of brilliant people sharing their first viewing with us and each adding startling insights into our understanding of the music.
5. REN himself is a generally awesome guy, not “just” his music, his poetry, his theater, but also in his character. Even the worst cynic in me is convinced, with the plenitude of evidence.
It is a surprise to feel blown away by anything at my age, and more surprising to keep being blown away. REN is candy for the brain.

Ren tells the stories and the filming of the stories are all done so well i found myself looking for the bodies laying on the ground. The saddest thing about this is the fact each of these things are happening in every country at this very moment and the cycle continues
Jennys tale was prompted by a newspaper story and people just saying its such a shame. Then came Screeches tale. Nearly 2 years later came Violets tale tying it all together.

Did notice the girl on the swing on the wall/door in Jenny's take, a take off a girl's innocent's lost, and Violet's name written on the plate on the end of the hospital bed in at the beginning of of Violet's tale. Just a few details i noticed. Great reaction!!

You earned those subscribers, you keep it real and share with us the emotions Ren intended us to all experience with is music. I consider this true music therapy.
There's a constant hunger among the RENagades for more people reacting to Ren's stuff - to see a new one is so exciting. That's why your sub count jumped so much because now we know we'll have a new source of our daily dose of Ren reactions :D Your enthusisasm is amazing but I'd like to commend you for a kida technical thing - you are what I call a vocie over reactor - barly pausing and just talking over the video you react to - for me who've heard these songs a billion times over this is so much more dynamic and fun BUT for this type of reaction to work the levels on your mike and the source material have to be just right and many reactors fail at it miserably and you do it perfectly man! I could clearly hear your comments and the video

If you want to see those kind of moments, i had a couple of those on here. Check out my reactions to "Lost" by Linkin Park and "Are You Really Okay?" By Sleep Token. Both reactions were pure emotion and i cried like a baby in both 😅 im a super emotional kind of dude. This one was more traumatic for me than anything. Especially domestic violence. So this one almost gave me the wrong kind of breakdown is all

He definitely demonitizes lol but that's fine honestly because money is the last thing on my mind when it comes to this. I never expect it. So i honestly dont mind. I just dont want it blocked 😂
