I have to say that as I watch the song clips and actual shows folks have posted, the show has definitely morphed, as of course it naturally, would, and I had recently wondered just how different recent shows are since those first ones. I would assume that some are vastly different as Nick, Warren and the others have found their groove!
I saw him in Chicago in March. His stage presence was amazing - simultaneously incredibly intense and at the same time a bit shy and awkward, but always in an intimate connection with the audience. I’d only discovered his music a few months before - no one in the US seems to have heard of him - and I felt so lucky I was able to see him live as he’d never been to Chicago before this. Just Wow.
Just saw this at King’s theater in Brooklyn. The most intense live music experience I’ve ever had - deep, soul wrenching, ecstatic. I was weeping through half of it. The love flows like a river. This man is a gift, soak him up while he is with us.

I was comparing him to others, not himself. But I went to see him again 3 nights later on his last night in New York (Beacon Theater) and the man next to me had seen every Nick Cave show in the last 20 years. He said he was hoping for more of the edgy Bad Seeds (of which they played 3 or 4 songs) but he was still absolutely loving it, by the end he said it was possibly his favorite.
Just missed them in Toronto. Just started listening to Ghosteen on TH-cam and purchased CD yesterday. Grieving for someone right now and this album was perfect.

indeed i dont like ghosteen but 1 more time since 82 i know him..mindblowing live...on record..i dont like it but live is awesome a pity about the sound its way better at the antwerp show check hand of god in stadsschouwburg antwerp. now i must say..some songs are rather dull..others awesome.ly great..
Thanks for posting. However, I must confess that I do prefer Nick with the Bad Seeds. I've seen them twice: in the Let Love In tour in the 90s and last week in Porto, and both were unforgettable. With the Bad Seeds he has a mesmerizing intensity, it is really another level.
I am waiting for Ashville NC tickets to go on sale. I know it's a stretch but I would love to hear Rings of Saturn live, I find that to be such an underrated track but it means so much to me.
I think it's so he can easily play his keyboard and control all of the pedals for the loops. I remember him sitting for certain songs at other Bad Seeds shows.
Sadly I saw this concert. I have a lot of time for Nick and Ellis but their song selection wasn't good that night. A lot of padding. I know it's all subjective but when only one track stands out (Hollywood)...... Hey maybe in time I'll see the bigger picture, wouldn't be the first time.
I live in a real country that actually acknowledges that we're in the middle of a deadly pandemic with no end in sight, so we don't have concerts here at present. Thanks to the irresponsible promoter, artist, and recorder for this rare treat!
Thanks also to the Y-shaped recovery that makes it possible for the Haves to shell out twice as much for decent seats to shows like this one than I paid for my front-row ticket the last time I saw Nick Cave just three years ago! It sure is a great time to be fucking stupid and mindlessly rich!
Most of the frontmans have a Screen on the floor where they can read the lyrics. But usually they read only that part of the songs that think is always " hard " to be memorized.

In Lavender Fields the guitarist I think is using a Mel9 pedal. I love that pedal but I've never seen somebody use it live! it sounds so good in this
