    Very nice, informative, and entertaining video. I love the 'whimsical' editing and all the visual gags.
    By the way, you could give One Page Rules' Grimdark Future Firefight a try, all the rules are easily accesible and it's a pretty fun game (Just make sure to start with the beginner guide from the website rather than the core rules, the former contain the full rules while the latter serves as a reference point). It's a great alternative to Kill Team and very fun in it's own right (Emphasis on alternative, not replacement. They can both coexist imo.)

    I can absolutely relate to the process of trying to learn Killteam rules, it's such a shame it's all so messy and muddled when games like Warcry are an absolute breeze to get started with! Great work Nick, always impressed by the quality of your videos and this is no exception.

      If you struggle a little bit with the rules of the Kill Team, maybe you would like to try “Grimdark Future Firefight”? The rules are completely free and you can use the minis, you already have. The rules are super easy and the game is soooo fast and smooth. Greetings

    I am also learning Kill Team right now and I can't even number the amount of times I've disgustedly asked "WHY??" while trying to sort through the rules. The absolutely inane choices for shapesmeasurements is definitely the "canary in the coal mine" of how obtuse things get.
    Printer looks dope. My first reaction to closed systems is always writing them off because I instinctively want that control. I thought about it more, though, and in this space, I don't really want that control. I want a 3d printer to be as simple to use as this old laserjet printer behind me. I don't want to fiddle and tweak and troubleshoot. I want prints to just work as expected. I'm only a "seasonal" hobbier through the dark winter months when outdoor activities are unpleasant, so I'll never be able to justify the price of this set, but if I were, I'd absolutely spring for this unit.

    • @luketfer
      @luketfer ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I *think* GW is on a kick where they have to make every single one of their games different and apply no crossover. Killteam has the 'shapes as measurement' thing, Horus Heresy is closer to 7th edition Wh40k, Old World is basically 8th Edition Warhammer, Age of Sigmar runs on it's own thing, Warhammer 40k 10th edition runs on its own thing. There are baseline systems that run throughout (Weapon skill, Ballistics Skill etc.) but all of them do something funky.
      I think this comes about because they want you to have things for each of the games, so you can't take your Kill team and just jump straight into a game of 40k, you've got to learn a completely new ruleset with its own keywords etc. so thus you've got to buy the 40k rulebook etc. The entire reason they aren't supporting Legacy factions in Old World is because they don't want people being able to play both with a single army and its the same reason they pulled all the Horus Heresy stuff from Space Marines and moved it into the 'not legal in tournaments' Legends bin, they don't want you playing Horus Heresy and 40k with the same army at official events.

    Great video, Nick! I recently picked up a super cheap set of chisels from Harbor Freight to help remove prints from my printer bed. It didn't seem difficult for you on the HeyGears, but the extremely thin blade and sturdy shaft (blimey) make it even easier and is a great $6 tool upgrade.

  • @luketfer
    @luketfer ปีที่แล้ว

    Easiest Killteam would have been Custodes, with 2 squads and 2 custodes model per squad (yes you can have 2 custodes and 5 sisters of silence or 10 sisters but it is by far the most economical way to get into kill team).

  • @ericdavis4964
    @ericdavis4964 ปีที่แล้ว

    My concern with proprietary systems such as this comes down to resin. You are stuck with whatever resin the manufacturer produces and locked into whatever price point and quality they decide, unless you try reusing their bottle with a different manufacturer resin.

    As for why skirmish games are more complex than the full wargame. GWs Skirmish games have ALWAYS been more complex than the full wargame because of the lower number of miniatures, Necromunda was always more complex than regular 40k. In fact Skirmish games in general seem to be more complex.

    • @ericdavis4964
      @ericdavis4964 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Necromunda released in the 90s was far easier and less complex then 40K during that same period. I have been told that when GW re-released Necromunda made it far more complex and slower to play. If so that is a shame, as the original Necromunda was a fun game to play

    Hi Mate, awesome video as always from you!
    Please be extra careful with the HeyGears resin cause this resin is super toxic. especially when i saw you opening and handling your printer and ur prints without mask i couldnt believed it.
    i have now a 3 month old boy and scince a year i rarely touch my printer and go in the basement where its located. If i handled the printer i go imedietly shower after cause particles of the resins stick on your skin. thats why some ppl get skin problems when handling with resin. small doses of toxic stuff are already very ahrmful for baby brains.
    thats why i am taking a big step back from the Ultra Craft reflex cause of there even more toxic resins.
    This guy however has succeslful prints with other companies resins in the machine.

    • @CCMinis
      @CCMinis  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TryChillBalloo all resin is toxic, this stuff for sure and others as well - even the water curable stuff. I was admittedly reckless in this video and have since learned to handle the material at least slightly better. I don't think the HeyGears resin is more or less toxic than any other resin on the market - but to be fair I don't know if anyone has actually tested these things. Either way, respect all resins. The smell isn't any worse then the other resins I've used, but I don't think that has any bearing on how bad the stuff is for you.
