@@VictorSiberian No no, its Mi 11 Ultra, it has binned 12.5mpx sensor (from 50, as 4to1). Probably its best in low light to this date, also there are some models who are not much trailing behind - 1+ 8Pro, 9 Pro, Xiaomi MI 10 Ultra.. Your Poco F3 does work well too, really. Nice chipset. Biggest limit from xiaomi is usb type -c 2.0 port, otherwise with gen3 port you could put an ssd and speed up the work. I got internal 256GB memory really quickly filled during this shoot, and still used another 256GB USB flash drive connected via adapter to quickly transfer some files during the walking through moments, as there were ~160GB available from phones memory. Total was 230gb, not including that I've deleted some footage for about 60GB off..
Looks fantastic! One question: do you get a full 50mp mode on the Motion Cam app? I only ask not to record 8K, but to have access to the 50mp main sensor and be able to crop in Motion Cam to achieve a 2x crop or so for a tighter FOV but not as tight as the periscope tele lens. In McPro24fps I can do this and even zoom into the full 48mp sensor on my Zenfone 6 while recording, just wanted to know if it's possible on the Motion Cam app
Hei John, thanks for visit! On MotionCam app i do get binned resolution at max - thats 12.5mp. On mcpro24fps yes I can record in 8K, but its not as great as you would expect. It is possible to get higher pixel resolution if you root the device - but I dont see a point as it is not native resolution and it is demosaiced interpolation. Best results in terms of details and croppping i get from my other Mi 10 Pro 5G, as it records with motioncam in native resolution 6K30fps
@@miesto_paukstis Wow, hold the phone! I cannot believe you can get 6K 30p on the Mi 10 Pro! Haha I was sold on the Mi 11 Ultra but now am not so sure...so is the 6K achieved because 108mp when pixel binned is actually 27mp? And I does this mean that the 48mp sensor of the Mi 10 Ultra is stuck with 12mp binned? All of this is very confusing lol because I can't seem to find the Mi 10 Ultra anywhere for sale and wonder if it's actually better to buy the Mi 10 Pro instead! What is the highest fps you can achieve on the Mi 10 pro using Motion Cam?
@@JohnFelipo yes, its native 27mpx from 108mp binned. It can work up to 4k30 motion cam, if rooted then Amitt from AMVR group managed to get 2K164fps. But 4K60fps also works if rooted. There is youtube video. Be aware that Mi 10 Pro with hmx sensor is not great though in low light. So more versatile option would be to get 10 ultra or 11 Ultra. But if you get good price on 10 Pro dont hesitate. I got it for 120Eur, so it was big win:))
Glad that you found! Yeah, this is mobile phone after all, that microconstrast/flares - they do exist, but actually that is kinda on 95% of smartphones. The one's who had better control over the flaring in my experience are only Vivo X60/70 Pro+ series and Oppo Find X3 Pro. Expected from Sony Xperia I mk2 to be better with zeiss coating, but only Vivo done it right (not only text by camera module). Pixel 6 Pro looks good to me too! S22 Ultra covers some flaring with stock camera app, but using 3rd party reveals it has flaws actually.
Hi, not yet something ready for YT. Just few shots for myself to test. Have something in mind for that in future. Though 4K60fps even from mcpro24fps looks incredible good. And with raw 4K60fps fills up storage like crazy:) few moments and you have 50GB file :)
Hi, there isn't - as the phone does not have variable aperture. But i could not speak of sony pro-I or samsung s10 series - maybe there is a toggle to switch.
Hi, thanks for a visit and such comment. Currently I do not have plans/time to make video like this, im not that professional / dont have much audience and yet there are plenty videos from my colleagues who is way more skilled/ has big audience with quite a lot information how to record video, transfer/convert files, use sequence and edit - render file for final delivery. Yes, those video maybe be not like latest updates from the app, but as app is frequently improving and being tunned, added new features - that video makes sense in just short period of time.
Hi Dan, there is no need of removing sharpening, as there is no if you shoot RAW :)) or even mcpro24fps on some devices:) I neither removed sharpening, neither did noise reduction for this.
@@miesto_paukstis I have mcpro24fps. But have not tried shoot without sharpening. Is that an option. My phone samsung s21 ultra is not working with motion cam. And I got shots with portrait video effect however the result is sharpening. Thats why I would like to remove it. Do you know another way for this use case?
@@Eroseta Ok, nice app. Yes turn off the sharpening, but the issue with Samsung's is that even if the option is set OFF for sharpening and noise reduction, Samsung's ISP still pushes and overrides the setting no matter what you would pick up. I had S21 too, very nice hardware, but too much limited and can't override it even with a root. I think S20 FE 5G snapdragon is latest phone from Samsung, which can be very easily rooted and works with motioncam/mcpro24fps up to 30fps perfectly. Because other samsung models like S21, S21 Ultra does not support RAW10, so that makes issues with framerate going above 23fps etc. There are few old exceptions like Snapdragon versions of Note 8, 9, S9+ but thats it. What's I get rid of S21, because it had amazing main sensor, but was very limited by ISP. S21U has nice auxilary camera's, but main cam even if its big sensor its quite bad if you look deeper.
Does MotionCam allow recording in compressed formats? DNG Raw is great for the occasional short clips where we want to get the best quality, but would be nice if we can also record in compress formats like H265, H264 etc for a slightly more manageable file size.
Hi. In near future there will be option to export it to MP4 or some other less compressed formats. But in that regard of compression / quality - I suggest you to record via mcpro24fps.
You said that you exported to 8bit rec709 4:2:0. Could you shoot in 10bit 4:2:2? Why didn'y you exported in 10bit 4:2:2? And how to export 10bit video in 10bit?
Hi, thanks for a visit and comment:) Yes, i did output for rec.709 and naturaly of selection of gammut to 8bit. I dont have 10bit and hdr10+ ready monitor.. only capable TV only.. with 10bit monitor i would have chosen different profile, of course..in Davinci you can easily do 10bit video and gammut selection is wider for ouput, just its the issue which depends on your hardware. And I love that RAW video gives us more room for possibilities
Hi, thanks for a visit. Don't know much, as have not tested this device personally, just know that it ideally works with mcpro24fps and works good with MotionCam. In low light of course it will struggle more than 11U - that's for sure. While in good light conditions you won't probably see the difference, except deph of field, as it has smaller sensor.
@@miesto_paukstis Would the Mi 11 Ultra 5X tele sensor (1/2” 48MP, 30.72mm2) be better for low light compared to S23 Ultra 3X and 10X sensor (1/3.52″ 10MP, 9.9 mm2)? The Xiomi tele sensor is 3 times bigger, so I wonder if that comes with obvious better lower light capability?
@@Jthe5th Yes, you can push more details from it, of course. It was one of the best telephoto shooters from the phones that I've got. You can check my latest two vids - one is shot with raw Motioncam and there I used tele lens a lot. Of course its quite dark with F 4.1 aperture, but has ability to do 4K60fps with no drop in image quality. And stability is good then you get used to it.
@@miesto_paukstis Wow that's super impressive. I recently got a Pixel 9 Pro but don't think I can reach this! (although it's raw's are a bit funky, almost no HL recovery but pretty alright shadow recovery.
@techtt6213 Congrats on purchase! P9 pro is good, should work quite well. Remember that 11U is really capable up to this day, the sensor is great, just the lens vignette ruins the final image. With HL of course, non of the existing devices has big range, there are some tricks with modded devices, but usually good exposure with highlights in mind helps a lot.
Hi Danilo, Probably it will be better - thats for sure, but how? I suspect a little increase in less noise at low light + more shallow DOF. About 10~15% better, no more. Issue that i know is that 12s U works horrible now with mcpro24fps and with motioncam probably have also issues. For now picking up 11U makes more sense. In only certain scenarios you would get some advantage with 12sU. Also my personal opinion is that 23mm on both phones is quite dissappointing. Would love to see implementations of bigger sensor/aperture and in range of 28-35mm. Similar like Axon40U, just better.
Has anyone been able to connect one of these Xiaomi phones to a field monitor? I'm not looking for super image quality in that regard, I just need to have another screen for framing shots and checking exposure. I'm using Mi 11 Pro.

Hi, thanks for visit. Well, yes 25fps is with more motion, but in that regard best is to use 180° shutter rule - in some scenes I used it, in some not:) also phones not modded has better clocks from 30fps to 60fps. But I do not agree about 60fps to be used at night at first, and also 48/50/60 should be used for slower motion, not to be played at 1x speed.

Amazing! Just amazing!
Thanks for a visit, RJ!
Nice to hear!!
Did you add post stabilization?
Great!!! crisp images!
And the night shots are good, it surprised me, your sensor is big!
Appreciated!
Now its your turn! good luck with 8 Pro :))
@@miesto_paukstis I did some shots I will post it
Here in France very cloudy, it doesn’t help but some shots were good! 🎥
great work
is the mi 11 pro the same in low light yet it has a gn2 sensor identical to the mi 11 ultra?
Super good quality
Thanks for a visit!
Amazing video. Was planning to pick it up; unfortunately, the lens flares/internal reflections are annoying.
Woww! This is amazing 🔥😍
Thanks!!
Do you have any 4k60p test footage available?
Hi, not yet something ready for YT. Just few shots for myself to test. Have something in mind for that in future. Though 4K60fps even from mcpro24fps looks incredible good. And with raw 4K60fps fills up storage like crazy:) few moments and you have 50GB file :)
Is there a way to control aperture/f stop number in the Motioncam Pro version app to control depth of field?
Hi, there isn't - as the phone does not have variable aperture. But i could not speak of sony pro-I or samsung s10 series - maybe there is a toggle to switch.
can you create a full workflow video about this app
Hi, thanks for a visit and such comment. Currently I do not have plans/time to make video like this, im not that professional / dont have much audience and yet there are plenty videos from my colleagues who is way more skilled/ has big audience with quite a lot information how to record video, transfer/convert files, use sequence and edit - render file for final delivery. Yes, those video maybe be not like latest updates from the app, but as app is frequently improving and being tunned, added new features - that video makes sense in just short period of time.
How can you remove sharpening on resol e?
Hi Dan, there is no need of removing sharpening, as there is no if you shoot RAW :)) or even mcpro24fps on some devices:)
I neither removed sharpening, neither did noise reduction for this.
@@miesto_paukstis ohhh I see. I feel so disappointed
Puikiai. Gražu. Aišku.

Hi, thanks for a visit and comment:)
Yes, i did output for rec.709 and naturaly of selection of gammut to 8bit.
Cool stuff. Why my town doesn't look like this 🤔
Maybe next year? :) Good set of lights and decorations revives a lot:) At now we have a light festival happening, just haven't seen that yet.
Hi, thanks for visit.
Focus pull was all manual. Now the Motioncam apps interface is even much much better.
👍👍👍
Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra has a 50mp sensor, but why we can't shoot in 8k with motion cam?
Because natively its 12.5mp sensor, not 50mp. 50mp is "unbinned". So its 4K+ only, which is available in MotionCam (and actually more than enough)
What do you know about the LG V60, is it as good as the MI 11U for low light?

Any AMVR mods running on the phone or stock software?
@@techtt6213 Hi, was fully stock!
@@miesto_paukstis Wow that's super impressive. I recently got a Pixel 9 Pro but don't think I can reach this! (although it's raw's are a bit funky, almost no HL recovery but pretty alright shadow recovery.
@techtt6213 Congrats on purchase!
What about The 12s ultra with The 1 inch sensor?
Hi Danilo,
Probably it will be better - thats for sure, but how?
You guys can make a short flim
Thanks for a visit:) Hope next season installations will make some inspiration:)
Can you tell me is AMVR is worth it?
Hi, yes it is worth but depending the device you got and what you want to achieve. Ive used no mods here
what do you recommend vivo and leqiel in low light against this mi 11 ultra
Hi, Vivo X90 Pro+ (with snapdragon) would be superior to 11 Ultra in low light. Better lens!
Yes, GN2 is identical in 11 Pro
Omg! RAW DNG size approximately 230GB 😕 that's a lot.
Yes, its killer edition for my SSD to store :))
Great!!
Thanks!! :) you did too!
awesome
it's possible to record 8k video ?
Hi - possible but not worth it. Closest is with Mi 10 Pro with its 6K native raw video.
very good!!^^
Thanks for visit, Sebastian! Always glad to hear that :)

Hi Niels, thanks for a visit and sorry to hear about your loss.. If you attached to xiaomi, go for MI 11 Pro (ch version with GN2 sensor) or MI 11 Ultra ( like I use). If you consider other brands, the great price&quality ratio is on Oneplus 8 Pro!

Motion cam is better than mcpro24 because motion cam recording dng (raw) video.
Hi, for regular use I would choose mcpro24fps any day :)) this was my curiosity and for testing the app/output.
@@xashdflk is it worth? Noticeable difference?
@@kaphicurnam yes, noticable. At some level.
WB control, slightly more DR. But if shot smart using mcpro24fps, that also gives excellent result. Thing is, that this video does not represent full quality, youtube bites a lot of detail off, then doing compression does more NR and the tele lens looked better in original rendered file..
@@miesto_paukstis did you have to struggle with banding in the dark areas or artifacts shooting in the night?

Now we can easily say that we beat iphone videos.
Thanks for a visit:)
Well, I don't remember why everyone was praising iphone videos from the beginning :) as point&shoot they come out better than android even up to date - including color science, but as even small piece of manual settings are involved or 3rd party app - iphone is behind. Just too artificial.. ok, thats matter of taste, but this is my personal opinion.
Wow. Finally i guess android now can beat iPhone in terms of video quality.
Thanks!
I think yes, had tested 14 Pro vs 11U for basic test personally - well honestly then using MotionCam iphone is lagging behind. Its good, but for typical social use - for editing and natural look its already overprocessed.
With Android you can have all control, but this also happens to a number of devices.
P.s. that winter video was done at the time then app was like really in its first days.
Given how it progressed so far and the tools/skill are - I could recreate something similar showing even more quality, but I sold the phone :/

How much memory used for this entire video?
Hi, total footage of RAW non cut was ~230GB (container files). I had to convert all this to cinema dng, so atleast 130% of this is needed extra :) as I was saving space, I did few batch conversion while deleting already used container files. But anyway, for proper lenght video be prepared to have at least 500G of free space.
