@miesto_paukstis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@visceraljourney Hi Eric,
      yes that topic could be developed, maybe at some point. At first im waiting for MC update to give a profile before converting to dng to solve lens vignette and magenta color swift at image center issues, because it could possibly help, cause now its quite pain to edit this issue of image at first.
      The thing is that it's quite difficult to compare and make point of that, because at first - TH-cam does hell of compression to video's quality (download original rendered video for example and compare), what is more - the raw gives more deph of controling colour/WB/slight edge of DR/unbaked image because it does not go through ISP, but that sharpness can be cut off in mcpro24fps too, also detail level there is also good. AMVR modules could help to get extra bit and come closer to RAW footage, just yet I keep my 11Ultra the way it is. Stabilisation, well, on MC its more noticable any flaws wobbling image, but OIS works same.
      My point would be to compare this phone next to other using mcpro24 or MC and compare side by side.

    • @visceraljourney
      @visceraljourney 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@miesto_paukstis Thank you for such a thorough answer. Ofc it would be perfect to test 2 exact phones side by side so if you can grab another M11 Ultra that would be the jam, but running both apps on the same phone would still do a great job. Subbed to your channel in anticapation for more content on the subject.

    • @miesto_paukstis
      @miesto_paukstis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@visceraljourney No, i meant to compare to other phone against via 11 Ultra. If I get hand on new gen releases. That i'm more interested now. There is no issue for me to shoot same scene with both apps using same device, just the light has not to change too sudden (weather/ time important). Or indoor test with steady light.
      I do have Mi 10 Pro too, but that's quite different phone for MC because the sensor resolution, and it can do 6K native (6K@30fps raw capable). Just in low light it's less usable. If I do get on occasion for right scenery and light, I'm interested testing that phone too.
      As I wrote my points, there is not much use to compare mcpro24fps to MotionCam, because the youtube limits the quality A LOT to see such a difference, and RAW is RAW, like it's hard to compare, you have to edit it first (* thats personal preference), and the footage from mcpro24fps can look good straightforward. That editing of RAW video has more deph in colors and has edge with details, but for example for the ease of shooting and editing if only published on youtube - im good with mcpro24fps.

      Hi, thanks for visit:)
      1. No, as my PC struggles with NR reduction on davinci, and it was very quick edit:) Main camera did not needed any NR to be applied, and tele lens footage was a low compressed by youtube algorithms, as original footage looks even much more detailed, especially those parts where tele lens are used.
      2. Yes, all cams can shoot RAW with UHD up to 60fps.
      3. I did not counted, I just put on to convert overnight:)) But I guess it was like few hours probably at max. Also I shoot using 7.0.8 version, that old one (this was recorded in december), so it was previous container file size, and not windows converter, like its now. Does the speed of USB C 2.0 bother you? Especially since these videos are not small in size, you'll have to wait longer for it to transfer to your PC via USB C 2.0. Or is there a faster way to transfer? Perhaps a wireless connection to the PC?

      @miesto_paukstis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, thanks for visit and comment.
      More or less settings were put in description under the video. Resolution from 12.5mpx sensor with 4/28% crop is 3916x2212 for main, for other lens matches UHD 2160p, as they are 12mpx (as yours main). Bit deph was RAW10, as its 10bit sensor. RAW12 or RAW16 is only a container now, but the deph does not increase. Probably there is none of those sensors in mobile smartphones (for video, not for stacked computational photography as Samsung or Oneplus claims). Still, there is no need over 10bit, its more than sufficient.
      Check original file link in comments/description - has way better quality over compressed youtube.

      Probably its best in low light to this date, also there are some models who are not much trailing behind - 1+ 8Pro, 9 Pro, Xiaomi MI 10 Ultra..
      Your Poco F3 does work well too, really. Nice chipset. Biggest limit from xiaomi is usb type -c 2.0 port, otherwise with gen3 port you could put an ssd and speed up the work. I got internal 256GB memory really quickly filled during this shoot, and still used another 256GB USB flash drive connected via adapter to quickly transfer some files during the walking through moments, as there were ~160GB available from phones memory. Total was 230gb, not including that I've deleted some footage for about 60GB off..

    Looks fantastic! One question: do you get a full 50mp mode on the Motion Cam app? I only ask not to record 8K, but to have access to the 50mp main sensor and be able to crop in Motion Cam to achieve a 2x crop or so for a tighter FOV but not as tight as the periscope tele lens. In McPro24fps I can do this and even zoom into the full 48mp sensor on my Zenfone 6 while recording, just wanted to know if it's possible on the Motion Cam app

    • @miesto_paukstis
      @miesto_paukstis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hei John, thanks for visit!
      On MotionCam app i do get binned resolution at max - thats 12.5mp. On mcpro24fps yes I can record in 8K, but its not as great as you would expect. It is possible to get higher pixel resolution if you root the device - but I dont see a point as it is not native resolution and it is demosaiced interpolation.
      Best results in terms of details and croppping i get from my other Mi 10 Pro 5G, as it records with motioncam in native resolution 6K30fps

    • @JohnFelipo
      @JohnFelipo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@miesto_paukstis Wow, hold the phone! I cannot believe you can get 6K 30p on the Mi 10 Pro! Haha I was sold on the Mi 11 Ultra but now am not so sure...so is the 6K achieved because 108mp when pixel binned is actually 27mp? And I does this mean that the 48mp sensor of the Mi 10 Ultra is stuck with 12mp binned? All of this is very confusing lol because I can't seem to find the Mi 10 Ultra anywhere for sale and wonder if it's actually better to buy the Mi 10 Pro instead!
      What is the highest fps you can achieve on the Mi 10 pro using Motion Cam?

    • @miesto_paukstis
      @miesto_paukstis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@JohnFelipo yes, its native 27mpx from 108mp binned. It can work up to 4k30 motion cam, if rooted then Amitt from AMVR group managed to get 2K164fps. But 4K60fps also works if rooted. There is youtube video. Be aware that Mi 10 Pro with hmx sensor is not great though in low light. So more versatile option would be to get 10 ultra or 11 Ultra. But if you get good price on 10 Pro dont hesitate. I got it for 120Eur, so it was big win:))

The one's who had better control over the flaring in my experience are only Vivo X60/70 Pro+ series and Oppo Find X3 Pro. Expected from Sony Xperia I mk2 to be better with zeiss coating, but only Vivo done it right (not only text by camera module). Pixel 6 Pro looks good to me too! S22 Ultra covers some flaring with stock camera app, but using 3rd party reveals it has flaws actually.

      @@Eroseta Ok, nice app. Yes turn off the sharpening, but the issue with Samsung's is that even if the option is set OFF for sharpening and noise reduction, Samsung's ISP still pushes and overrides the setting no matter what you would pick up. I had S21 too, very nice hardware, but too much limited and can't override it even with a root. I think S20 FE 5G snapdragon is latest phone from Samsung, which can be very easily rooted and works with motioncam/mcpro24fps up to 30fps perfectly. Because other samsung models like S21, S21 Ultra does not support RAW10, so that makes issues with framerate going above 23fps etc. There are few old exceptions like Snapdragon versions of Note 8, 9, S9+ but thats it.
      What's I get rid of S21, because it had amazing main sensor, but was very limited by ISP. S21U has nice auxilary camera's, but main cam even if its big sensor its quite bad if you look deeper.

      @techtt6213 Congrats on purchase!
      P9 pro is good, should work quite well.
      Remember that 11U is really capable up to this day, the sensor is great, just the lens vignette ruins the final image.
      With HL of course, non of the existing devices has big range, there are some tricks with modded devices, but usually good exposure with highlights in mind helps a lot.

    What about The 12s ultra with The 1 inch sensor?

    • @miesto_paukstis
      @miesto_paukstis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Danilo,
      Probably it will be better - thats for sure, but how? I suspect a little increase in less noise at low light + more shallow DOF. About 10~15% better, no more.
      Issue that i know is that 12s U works horrible now with mcpro24fps and with motioncam probably have also issues. For now picking up 11U makes more sense. In only certain scenarios you would get some advantage with 12sU.
      Also my personal opinion is that 23mm on both phones is quite dissappointing. Would love to see implementations of bigger sensor/aperture and in range of 28-35mm. Similar like Axon40U, just better.

    Has anyone been able to connect one of these Xiaomi phones to a field monitor? I'm not looking for super image quality in that regard, I just need to have another screen for framing shots and checking exposure. I'm using Mi 11 Pro.

    Картинка чистая, что для телефона, конечно, впечатляет. Но чувствуется недоэкспозиция. И ОЧЕНЬ чувствуются 25 кадров. Спасибо за напоминание о том, почему от современного кино вытекают глаза без чёртовых апскейлеров хотя бы до 60фпс...

      Hi, thanks for visit.
      Well, yes 25fps is with more motion, but in that regard best is to use 180° shutter rule - in some scenes I used it, in some not:) also phones not modded has better clocks from 30fps to 60fps.
      But I do not agree about 60fps to be used at night at first, and also 48/50/60 should be used for slower motion, not to be played at 1x speed.

      WB control, slightly more DR. But if shot smart using mcpro24fps, that also gives excellent result. Thing is, that this video does not represent full quality, youtube bites a lot of detail off, then doing compression does more NR and the tele lens looked better in original rendered file..

      Well, I don't remember why everyone was praising iphone videos from the beginning :) as point&shoot they come out better than android even up to date - including color science, but as even small piece of manual settings are involved or 3rd party app - iphone is behind. Just too artificial.. ok, thats matter of taste, but this is my personal opinion.

      I think yes, had tested 14 Pro vs 11U for basic test personally - well honestly then using MotionCam iphone is lagging behind. Its good, but for typical social use - for editing and natural look its already overprocessed.
      With Android you can have all control, but this also happens to a number of devices.

    Kai seku telefonų ir foto kamerų naujienas. Visada galvojau - nu kodeeel gamintojai negali ideti funkcijos kad galetum filmuoti RAW formatu kaip RED arba Cinema BlackMagic kameros. O kai tik pemačiau šia programa :O Likau nustebes kad VA ! Va ! Užsiknisimas dirbti su tukstančiais Raw formatų kadrais del keliu min video. BET VEEERTA... kadrai iškart tobulesni gaunasi kai tiek laisves koreguojant gauni su DNG failais : ))

      @miesto_paukstis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sveikas, malonu kad apie MC pastebi ir tautiečiai:)
      Nepasakyčiau kad užsiknisimas, vienintelis stabdis tai saugyklos vieta ir perkėlimo greitis. Jei usb-c 3.x jungtis telefone - galima tiesiai rašyt į SSD, taip apeinant ten, kur sugaištama daugiausia. Davinci puikiai tvarkosi. Su RAW video gal net greičiau nei HEVC kodeku. Labiausiai RAW cinema dng žavi spalvų gyliu ir skintone'ais, natūralumu - tai pabandžius sunku grįžti prie įprasto įrašymo.
      Tarp kitko kas liečia kitų kamerų gamintojus dėl raw video - stabdis RED patentai, kiek man žinoma. Greitu metu MC galės tiesiai konvertuoti į tam tikrą kodeką, be suspaudimo, taip supaprastinant dng sequence įkėlimą. Kaip sakant susitvarkai WB balansą prieš konvertavimą ir turi likusį kadrą su labai mažais nuostoliais.

      Hi, total footage of RAW non cut was ~230GB (container files). I had to convert all this to cinema dng, so atleast 130% of this is needed extra :) as I was saving space, I did few batch conversion while deleting already used container files.
