yeah he really made Forest Gump i mean can you believe it?
@@AllTheArtsyi believe it
Anyone else an item hoarder in RPGs that never use their consumables early game?
I want to do this in real life lol, hopefully this video can help
Lol totally me
Elden ring? Yes
All games funny enough since i was a kid.. But including elden ring for sure... Imagine all the stat increase items in rpgs.. ( +1 str.. Ect ) never use... I even used to farm till i had 99 of the first healing items early game ( ff7 "potion" as example ) never would use close to that much lol
🙋♀️🙇♀️
I LOVED the video game references here. In a lot of ways, personal finance is a game in and of itself so I really related to this one. Excellent work as always man!
YES! I agree! For me, building wealth was a game from the start. Cutting expenses, maximizing value on any spend, and building savings were their own rewards. Goals are important to work toward.
"In real life no one knows what you're working towards" hit me hard. That's a tough one, striving and working so hard towards any given goal while no one else has any idea. Nobody cares, and it makes it almost impossible if you let yourself cave to the comparison game. Someone else will always have more. Someone else will always be better. No one cares about what I've accomplished or what I'm working towards.
I removed online shopping apps from my phone. Really helps.
For me, Fallout 4 on survival mode helped me a lot with the mindset of saving money. You can actually invest in Fallout 4 by storing valuable items rather than selling them right away. As you increase your charisma, gain armour that boosts your charisma, gain perks that help bartering, and use items to boost your charisma when you make sales, you can VASTLY increase the amount of caps (money) that you have. Some items are worth selling right away but many aren't. They are assets to collect and use if needed. If not needed and you continue to amass huge quantities of items, your character can become obscenely rich and you will be able to afford everything in the game without any problem. That's not even mentioning side hustles like purified water farming, chem peddling or just flat out collecting all the junk you can find. If you put away as much as you can for the end game and cash out when your character can get the highest return, you will, in theory, be sitting on a nearly limitless pile of caps as you liquidate your assets. You also tend to want to use as few of our assets as possible so they can "appreciate" so you play fairly modestly and find ways to limit the caps your have to spend (aka limiting your expenses and liabilities). I started to learn to do more with less and found enjoyment in it too. Now I pretty much practice the same mentality IRL and I have a significantly higher net worth than ever before.
This man's level of connect with his audience is next level.
Love the game application to real life. Creating my quest journal. Benchmarking my life against my life and NOT someone else’s.
Thank you!
I needed this video in my life right now. Thank you for producing it.
Love this! Saving up and leveling to just be super OP is always the greatest feeling. Adding that to personal finance is such a good concept!
I have watched so many videos about saving money, but this one is completely different. These are so practical and that analogy of comparing your life with a video game is top notch! 💯 also that sacrifice-save-invest strategy is awesome. will probably start saving/investing my income and reward myself with something which doesnt drain those savings.
I've been looking for something that could help gamify my life. You put in a lot of great effort, thank you for this!
I’m going to reward myself with an exotic rental once I pass my real estate exam this month. That will motivate me 100%
Update I passed, drove a cayman GT4 this weekend, life is good
@@cr4zym3x1c4ngood job bro!
Congratulations 🎉. I have to start back up and get my license. I stopped after failing twice in Illinois. Any studying rips and math tips will be greatly appreciated. God bless you!
I’ve been utilizing this sort of concept for years. I’ve always loved RPGs so it was a natural transition. I can’t even play video games anymore because it makes me want to level up my real life.
I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.
Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown
Absolutely, diversifying your portfolio is crucial. While reliable stocks form a strong base, exploring other assets helps in spreading risk. I can personally vouch for the effectiveness of this strategy with the help of professional guidance-I've witnessed my portfolio, starting at $330k, grow by 15% this year alone. Perhaps it's worth considering a similar approach for your investments.
@@maryHenokNft this is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? i'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation
It's difficult to provide extensive details, as I have entrusted my portfolio to a wealth advisor named *Camille Alicia Garcia* based in California. Her basic information is publicly available online, so I suggest researching her for further details.
Appreciate this recommendation, hopefully I can get some insight to where the market is headed and strategies to beat the downtrend with when I hear back from Camille.
I remember when I was a kid, my cousin saved up $35K and bought first house cash when they got married. Back then that seemed like a million bucks. Inspired me to save at a young age.
This video makes so much sense. Thank you so much for making this.
I'm really enjoyed this video. Thank you for putting this together ❤
Vincent, your videos are just mind-blowing! They have a tremendous impact on my life. Thanks for the amazing content!
This was a really cool way to see your life and look at taking on side quests so you don’t aimlessly go thru life
Very good video Vincent! Nice to see an interesting different take on managing finances.
I love the way you express yourself this is so beautifully crafted. And incredibly educational and creative. Thank you
Thank you so much!
What a video! RPG games (especially Skyrim) were always my favorite growing up; and it does parallel to finance in lots of ways
After watching this I kinda want to make my life into a game. All things I do that helps me in life gives me points and then tracking that. I wonder if it would work to help me
You just earned yourself a new subscriber I love this video! Good explanation 😤🙌🏼
Love the insight, I'll start my quests today.
I love the Runescape references! Great analogy and strategies. The best tip I would offer beyond this is to AUTOMATE the saving processes.
Also automating in general! Budgeting out the fixed expenses and setting those on autopsy, keeping that buffer of 1-2 months expenses in your checking, and that way you're only thinking about and handling the leftover
This was a phenomenally helpful video! I'm going to start using this method
Can’t thank you enough for these videos!
Great video! Love the way you put everything
Wow, i kinda naturally started doing some of these things cause im obsessive and results driven.
I never thought about how it compares to video games! I will be sharing this video fir sure
Been binging your content all week but THIS one speaks to my nerdy soul ,thank you sir
Wow, thanks!!
Loved this video, but how do you feel about a system where if you set money goals like :save 1000$, spend 100$ on a thing you have on a "want list", and invest the rest? I feel like when i have something specific i can save for i tend to be more successful, and when i am saving for something i can't feel or touch i'm not successful.
Same here
This was a very well made video thank you. This resonates with me so much.
awesome video, and awesome metaphor. 100% implementing this life tracking technique now
Thank you for this. 😊
as someone whose main mode of procrastination from grad school work is video games, this helped put things in perspective a lot!
This is the 1st time i stumbled upon your videos and this is VERY RELATABLE
Well done on breaking it down 👍🏻 amazing content
Thank you very much & keep it up 💙
This video is stunning, cannot believe I have never thought on this reference with videogames. Thank you so much!!
Thank you Vincent for the very interesting way of looking at saving money! I like your totally unique perspective.
I love this! Thankyou
Wow, amazing video and references. Great stuff here.
Probably my favorite video 😊 thank you for this and all of the gamer connections!
I'm not even a gamer but this video was amazingly done. I watched it twice. I just can't figure it out, somehow you managed to lace it with some addictive substance. Well done!!
Nice video Vincent, thank you.
Finally, something that I can relate to ❤ Thank you for this video.
This video is really good, you did great !
Thank you for this video.
I appreciate your channel so much! I’m late to the party but I’m glad I’m here.
Great video and very motivating. My quest is beginning now
Thank you for making this analogy with video games!
You have no idea how in love I am with this RPG/ Quest Log analogy. This is a great way to roadmap our way to our objective.
Thank you Vincent
LOVE this!!!
This is so motivating for me to save more. My own quests!
Awesome video 👏🏽
I love this idea, personally I am trying to turn my life around to from the beginning of this year. I set goals for myself and tonight I will stay in a hotel with my wife to celebratie what I achieved. I have more salary, I have lost 15 kilo, I started investing, I finally rebuild my buffer and I have start doing drivers lessons.
LOVE this analogy!
Best video games in one video about money... I'm impressed 😁
Even a 12 minute video is becoming difficult to complete on 1.75x speed, attention span for myself has narrowed do much!!
This is a great analogy!
Fantastic video.
Since a opened my Robinhood account, funding it to buy shares of stocks and funds is my favorite thing to do with money! Every time I think of buying something, I remember how much I can grow my account 😂
This is MKBHD level. What a great video!!
Treat life like a video game. To stop the bad guy gain allies, acquire new skills, and get rewarded for each triumph.
In real life start a hustle even if you only earn an extra $100 a month.
Example: you save $1000 in a month. Then spend more than half of the money you earned.
Get variety in life. New foods to try, new activities to try, invest in between $50-$200 into a Company,
Don’t Procrastinate just slow down instead. For instance, $5000 could be invested, go into a new car, or a college course.
Need to see visible progress. Do Brain Teasers.
The video game reference is something I've never looked at before. Thank you
Just be born as an immigrant and you all set. Worked for me flawlessly
Thank you
Exceptional video. I believe "Time" gets the best of most people. People simply hate waiting. I believe those who can endure the wait..... Have the advantage. Everyone says time flies. Sure When you're looking at the rearview mirror.
Life is like a game..Thank You fellow gamer and a saver
I dont know who needs to hear this saving for a better investment is a great step to financial freedom you're saving a day off work
The best advice of the year so far-you've covered so much ground. The best step toward financial freedom is saving a day off of work. I am really eager to begin investing.
@@bashirauwal5825 Yes, it has helped my overall income; I earn roughly 2k each week from my investment portfolio
Wow that's awesome I'm really excited about this how do I get started
There are numerous investment possibilities available, including real estate, cryptocurrency, ETFs, and stocks, but my best advise is to have a professional guide you through the process.
@@albertcharles4415 Ok how do I get one of these professionals to guide me through the process can you recommend one ?
finally money saving that makes sense!
everyone always says buy assets but no one says what to actually buy, nothing you can buy in my view can generate money back in your pocket quickly with only 1k
Quality video❤
Great video I believe everyone needs to Live below their means" adjust your lifest, be frugal, budget, save and invest. This helped me out as a 6 figure earner. I've grown over a million in retirement savings with this method
I agree. Three years ago I made modest changes and ‘found’ more than $3K annually. Since then I’ve inched things downward over $650 not counting my now paid off mortgage. This week I switched my internet and cell payment plans to prepay and based on my long record of autopay was given a bill reduction. Not huge, but the approach has me saving $840 this year when I thought there was nothing more I could do.
As a gamer I finally Find a financial video that makes sense to me - thank you
UNIQUE! CONGRATS!
As a gamer, the relations all these game references made this a very fun and educational video. Thank you!
I already do that (saving for a specific thing) and putting the progress in an excel. BUT I HATE IT. I just wanna spend money to travel. I only have to do it for another 6-12 months, thank god.
Chase bank has a monthly spending/savings chart. Great tracker for your goals
I felt attacked especially when you used a OSRS clip, lol... Great video.
I just stopped going out and i stayed home and played video games for 3 years and i paid down my bad debt with all the money i didnt spend lok
Great video
Notion and Apple notes? Todoist and Tick Tick; 😂 I feel a little bit of productive procrastination here no? In anyways, beautiful and very instructive video!
Ty
I don’t have caps big enough to say AMAZING VIDEO
I loved this video
The problem with this concept that I have is that games have an algorithm, life is unpredictable.
i was playing osrs when this video came out from nowhere lol
Good Job, ty
He mentioned runscape automatic like
I see RuneScape, I drop a like. Well done Vincent haha
Runescape clip? Instant sub
You have to grind when playing video games to level up your character to God tier mode. But sometimes in video games you can get to the end with just the bare minimum. That's if you master the basics and avoid getting hit. Some games won't let you do that until you unlock a particular skill
Anytime I get 1k K.O.s in Dynasty Warriors, the cheesy sounding voice of a random character will tell me how awesome I am. I'd like that reward whenever I put another 1k away in the bank please 😂
I'm all seriousness, great video and fun parallels you drew. Thank you for this 🥳
haha thank you so much :) It has been SOOO long since i played dynasty warriors. how's the game nowadays?
@Vincent Chan anytime! Love your videos 😊 It is pretty much the same but with better graphics, more ability to free-roam and a handful of new characters. Still great if you like the franchise 😉 Cheesiest English voicelines ever though (Zhou Cang's are so bad they're great 😂).
I don't play video games so its hard to relate to your references 😅 nevertheless, thank you for sharing your insight on saving money bc its such a struggle for me.
Ha! Never thought about it this way
You got me, now I'm gonna play my Switch again xD
Did my boy just explain life in gamer logic
