My husband works part-time patrol for Communty Watch and patrolled up north in District 2 today and spent most of his time which he was directed to do was clear debris from the roads. He saw no major flooding or damage at that end of TV. Unlike other communities we are very fortunate to have a superior infrastructure drainage system so any flooding we do get is minimal. I saw video clips of Live Oak, FL which is north of Gainsville and there had to be 2ft of water in their downtown.
Yes, I'm up in District 2 and the only thing we seem to have up here is palm fronds and tree bits everywhere. They were watering the grass during the rain and prior to the main event. I think that is how they lower the level of the ponds. I believe I heard that. Your husband might know if that's true.
Glad The Villages were spared serious damage. Central Florida is definitely an area I would consider moving to because the coastlines will eventually get hit with a serious hurricane one day.
Thank you for this update on the effect of Debby. IF it is safe, please show Moultrie Creek, Shady Brook, Eastport areas. Would like to see how the new construction fairs in the tropical storms. Especially since this area contains flood plains on which homes are now being built upon. A cruise around Barr Boulvard to Jeff Anderson and to the left on the next drive would be interesting. Please pan around the area with dirt just of interest. But only again, if it is safe for you to do so. Thank you for your informative videos
Thanks for the updates...I enjoy watching your videos. I retired at age 52 and turning 66 at the end of this month. My wife is less than three years from retirement but has no desire to move to Florida. However, I can still dream. Cheers!
This was another fantastic video! Thanks for getting out there and showing us how the facilities handle something like a tropical storm. It looked WAY better than I would've guessed.
Love seeing that TV is doing retention ponds right. I'm okay if the golf courses flood, so long as the houses and roads don't. I'm in central Texas and, like TV, we don't get the full effects of a hurricane like Houston or Galveston do, but we get can get the rain, flooding, wind, and tornado watches, very similar to what you're showing here. TV is in a great location in FL. The coasts are so beautiful, but there's no way I would ever consider moving to a coastal city in FL, as much as part of me would love to. I really appreciate you taking the extra step to add a map to your video today. TV is enormous and that map is a huge help. And OMG, that ENTIRE empty lot and the guy parks right in front of you. I'm dying. People are so funny.
Thank you for the video update 🙏🏻 As “snowbirds”, we have checked with our neighbors down there who assured us our house in Newell is still standing 😂 But Mickylee is pretty much my home course, and I appreciate seeing what you’re going through this week. It’s funny to see trees that are normally on land submerged near the ponds. This just shows how well designed everything in the Villages is designed, and I’m sure Parks & Recreation will be out there ASAP assessing and repairing, and getting everything operational again. Appreciate you taking the time to give us this update, as we are all curious and a bit worried. Stay safe, and keep up the good work 👊🏻
Thanks Michael for showing us all the water and I think we did pretty good because with all the rain that we have had it could be a lot worse. I think that TV has done a great job of moving the water. I didn't know that there was a walking trail at Homestead and need to check it out soon! Please stay safe and try to stay dry, I always look forward to your videos!
Thanks for the update! REally surprised that you took the golf cart out - not sure I would have done that with all the rain and wind. And the car has AC which is nice, as (like you said) it gets pretty toasty in there with the raingear on! Yeah, it was just nasty out there the whole day. We drove by the Dabney adult pool on the way to get our mail, and it's basically an infinity pool now LOL - pool is basically overflowing after all the rain! But overall it looks the TV fared pretty well. Just wish that there wasn't so much confusion on the garbage collection situation LOL!!
You fell across my YT feed. Yay! Hey Michael & Tiffany! Are you located anywhere near US HWY 27, Summerfield area? Wowee how the Villages have grown! Beautiful!
Still 46 and a working stiff, but hope for early retirement to the villages some day. Love the TVE adventures. I am definitely a West Coaster so a bit worried about all the hurricane stuff and moving to Florida. Did you guys have any concern before you moved into the Villages? Are some of the Villages more prone to flooding than other parts. They must have to do a lot of work on drainage! Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
I feel like ya'll had a bit of a wet leadup to the storm, too. I worked up there a couple of days last week and ran into some strong afternoon rains both days.
@jbdad I, too, wonder about wipers and golf carts. There should be something that clears the front window! What if it starts raining unexpectedly and hard while driving? How the heck do people see? Dangerous, in my opinion, to not equip goft carts with something helpful in that situation. I've never even thought about it, so now I'm curious too!
@@LisaLisaDB you can just lean and look from the driver's side around the windshield. I've also seen people just drop the windshield and get rained on.
In the villages how far are you away from the other communities? Can you take your cart to all of the communities in the Villages or is it so large that is not possible on an electric cart. I purchased the same Evolution cart as you, but have the stock battery. Love your channel and I've never been to the villages but plan on a trip on the 19th of September. I appreciate you giving the date of your video when you start out.
Michael, that Dabney-C is still showing available. When will TV post it as Pending for your and Tiffany’s accepted contract? It’s a lovely home, Sir. BTW, I enjoyed the ride around video today.
Wouldn't you know.......entire parking lot empty and you get blocked in😅😅😅! Kinda like owning a new vehicle. Park out in the back 40 and some junker parks next to you😂! How to prepare for a hurricane and what to do for evacuations and power outages would be a wonderful safety video. If it helps save one person, the video was worth doing. Glad to see minimum damage done that and you are safe.
Glad to see another video and everyone is safe! Congrats on the over 10k subs. I am a Texas girl (Fort Worth) how long has it been since you've been to Galveston? We are there 3 to 4 times a year to cruise, but it is not our choice for beach vacay. Take care and thank you both for taking us along on your experience! Trying to do a lifestyle visit next year if I can convince my husband.
Hi Michael- We will be closing on our home in Eastport, at Avery Villas, across from Saluki. Would love to see if there is an any flooding on Rottermond Way. Thank you and we love watching your videos and can’t wait to be a villager!
It's fun to see what some of the other areas of the Villages look like - glad there didn't seem to be a lot of damage. My husband had fun riding in the golf cart with our dog this afternoon, got caught in a down pour, but they pulled in the garage all happy as clams! I agree, it's the tornados that are what concern me - we got lucky!
Thanks for all the awesome comments, questions and suggestions about Rain-X for the windshield. Will follow up later this week! 👍😎🌴🌧️
Literally jumped into the comments to tell you about Rain X. It works great on our golf cart. I even use it on the rain flaps.
Always good to see you monitoring our sweet area of TV!!
Thanks for all the information 👍
My Kingdom for a squeegie for the Golf cart window!

Lived in south Florida for years, north Georgia now but Florida is the best place to be in winter, the best weather ever...
Glad The Villages were spared serious damage. Central Florida is definitely an area I would consider moving to because the coastlines will eventually get hit with a serious hurricane one day.
We do well to keep you safe!! Thank you
Michael and Tiffany..,
Awesome job Michael, it's helps to have you there, thank you....
Well the grass is really green. That was a plus
Glad y'all are ok!

Thank you Michael for sharing this. I would love to see some of the other nature trails on a future video.
Thank-you yet again. As a snowbird, it is so nice to have eyes-on-the-ground after events such as this storm!!!
Thank you for sharing ❤
Glad you all did well in the storm. Thanks for sharing this.
Of all the places to park that blue cart parked right in front of you. Thanks, Michael
Thanks for sharing!!😊

Thank you for doing a rain ride……..
So how did the rain curtains do?
This was another fantastic video! Thanks for getting out there and showing us how the facilities handle something like a tropical storm. It looked WAY better than I would've guessed.
You are a trooper Michael! Glad you both are safe 😁

So far not to bad
Thank you for sharing Michael.
Glad your OK. Hi from Ohio.
Yes Michael plz when you can do a video on Hurricane Prep❤
Thank you for documenting this. It great to know that The Villages can weather a storm so well. Great Video thanks for all you and Tiffany do 😉
Eek watch for gstors!👀
That one piece flapping at the Pickleball courts looks like a Harry Potter Dementor 😱
Great video! Stay safe! Thank you!
You did a great job reporting. As good as the weather channel.
Glad there wasn’t a lot of damage. No windshield wipers on your cart? Be safe! ❤
Thank you for the video update 🙏🏻

Would love to see a video about hurricane prep. Thanks for going out today and showing us how TV fared thru this storm!
I Have Been Through A Couple Of Hurricanes In Florida And It Is Amazing How Much Water The Soil Absorbs! Great Video My Friend.
Thanks Michael for showing us all the water and I think we did pretty good because with all the rain that we have had it could be a lot worse. Thx Michael, appreciate the yes on the ground…be careful out there. ❤ R&A
Were there any other 55+ communities that came up as a close second to the Villages?
Thanks for the update! REally surprised that you took the golf cart out - not sure I would have done that with all the rain and wind. Oh my goodness, be safe. Thank you for documenting this. Charlotte is supposed to get a quick visit from Debby, but nothing major.
great video! would love to see more day to day errands and living with the golf cart. especially a POV with a GoPro etc of you driving if possible!
I flew home to TV ( Dabney) via Orlando Sunday afternoon, just made it before the storm hit.
You fell across my YT feed. Yay! Hey Michael & Tiffany! Are you located anywhere near US HWY 27, Summerfield area? Wowee how the Villages have grown! Beautiful!
You were close to the water. Weren't you concerned about the alligators?
Hey Mike. First time viewer. Good job on the video. New subscriber.
Did Tiffany give you permission to be out in that weather?❤

Windshield wipers or maybe RainX
Hi! Do you have wipers on your golf cart? Just curious. Thx
Looks like “no”. I am sure if he had wipers he would be using them today.
@@jbdad don’t think so. It’s not a glass windshield.
@jbdad I, too, wonder about wipers and golf carts. There should be something that clears the front window! What if it starts raining unexpectedly and hard while driving? How the heck do people see? No wipers are on golf carts. I wish there were. Also, there are no sunshades.
@@LisaLisaDB you can just lean and look from the driver's side around the windshield. I've also seen people just drop the windshield and get rained on.
I am not sure if your golf cart has wipers. If not, you might try rain-x.
Palm trees are heavy with hanging dead palm fronds. Dead palm fronds are scattered about where I live. Too bad the trees aren’t better maintained.

Does anyone know if any homes in TV were flooded during the storm?
hello from tx . glad everybody is safe we just went thru beryl. have you been in the waters edge area? near eastport. thanks for your updates.
Michael, that Dabney-C is still showing available.
When will TV post it as Pending for your and Tiffany’s accepted contract?
It’s a lovely home, Sir.
BTW, I enjoyed the ride around video today.
I already thought of gators in the water .
Right?!
Would have been nice to have wipers on the cart today.😂
Good video!! Turn your hat on backwards and the wind won’t blow it off your head!! My husband does this in the wind. 😊
Question Michael???? How about the golf cart tunnels do they get flooded?

We are on our way! On the plane now!✈️

We will be closing on our home in Eastport, at Avery Villas, across from Saluki. Would love to see if there is an any flooding on Rottermond Way. Thank you and we love watching your videos and can’t wait to be a villager!
Michael, please don’t walk so near the water!!!
Michael, do yourself a favor and stay away from the waters edge.
Given how much rain these events can cause, it's probably worth it to get flood and hurricane insurance.
It's fun to see what some of the other areas of the Villages look like - glad there didn't seem to be a lot of damage. The Nature Trail is posted enter at your own risk? Is there alligators and poisonous snakes in there?
Did just what it was supposed to do, flood the golf courses instead of homes.
