I remember when I lived in Norfolk va. The family would all sit on the porch and watch the storms come in. We lived so close to the ocean, we would get some mean ones! The streets would flood and the winds would blow away anything not nailed down. Including trees. And sometimes garages or even parts of houses. We had to go inside for the really strong winds, but we would watch from a window or the screen door. It would actually get cold sometimes, when it had been 90 degrees earlier. I miss those storms. They don't make em like that here in Ohio. This is the closest I've been able to find in 20 years. Please make more storms like this.

Yes, know about the storm in Norfolk VA, I used to live there and they some big too, they come too close to the window, the storm, but trying stand close to the window , today my son is scray of the rain ...

I knew an enormous storm was coming, and so I promised them a warm fire, some of my most excellent brandy and as much conversation as we could handle. I was surprised when they arrived bringing along a third person. Ligori was quick to apologize, but I told him not to think upon it and was therefore introduced to Mr. Morgan Dietz.
"Ah. I see you're familiar with the name. Yes, I was actually one of the few men who spent time with Dietz before those fateful events which unfolded in Baltimore and Trenton. When he appeared on my doorstep he seemed a rather small and quiet mouse of a man. The sort who'd scurry about and speak in fearful whispers. And yet Ligori privately confided in me that Dietz was a familiar figure among the halls of power both here and in Europe.
"Well, things started out genially, with myself, Ligori and Creve doing most of the talking. For his part, Dietz sat at the edge of the fire, nursing a brandy and inserting only a murmur or two into the conversation. But he soon rose from his chair and began to wander about the library in the next room. At the time I thought nothing about it, believing Dietz to be, like myself, a connoisseur of books, and inwardly satisfied that he had found something worth amusing himself with.
"But then Dietz suddenly strode purposefully back into the room, coming directly to me. I noted how his eyes, formerly dull and unresponsive, now blazed as if his very soul was being consumed by flames. His hand held out a book which I immediately recognized: Shaw's "Five Golden Songs".
"Are you familiar with the Ciletti Ritual?" he asked in a tense tone. Taken aback by the sudden change in the man I admitted that I had studied it, albeit in a rather desultory manner. "Then have you met Vehon?" he continued, seeming to grow more and more agitated. I told him that I had corresponded briefly with Father Vehon, but have never met him in person.
"Determination seemed to animate the man's frame, and he asked where Father Vehon had been writing from at the time. I almost felt like keeping the information to myself, but quickly stammered out that Father Vehon's letters had originated from the Benedictine Abbey outside Manchester Township. Upon hearing this Dietz tossed the book outside and, without hesitation, left the house, immediately losing himself within the storm. Ligori and Creve and myself made a move to try and stop him and bring him to his senses (the storm being very violent at this time), but before we could reach the still open door we heard his voice commanding us loudly. "Tell no one," he roared through the thunder. "TELL NO ONE".
We counseled among ourselves and elected to follow his command (although I was tempted to send a quick note to the Abbey). Perhaps things might have turned out differently if we had been more proactive for, a few weeks later, the terror appeared which engulfed so much of New England. The cause of the unburied and mutilated bodies lining the sidewalks, and the horrendous shrieks which haunted the night. No, we never spoke of Dietz to anyone . . . but now this storm beckons me to break my silence."

I LOVE thunderstorms, I recorded my own once on a good mic in flac... got some good loud bits! I'm sure I'm not the only one who cheers and "woahs" when there's a particularly loud strike? 😄 We don't get thunderstorms often where I live (which is maybe a good thing? not many people like them and animals are scared of them). but they make me feel good, like there's something in the air that gives me energy and calms anxiety
one night I was in the countryside during a particularly brutal thunderstorm with a heavy rain. The lesser density of people (compared to the city where I live) and the loud roar of thunder and the ambient noise of rain makes you feel so free! Like you want to shout and sing, sing something epic like Queen.

I live in Ohio and I am now 66 years old but I remember as a child growing up we would get thunderstorms that would last all night long rain with lightning play in the sky we don't get that anymore everything has changed so much I sure miss them rainy stormy nights. I would love to live in the Amazon where they get rain thunder lightning wind that is where I would like to live and that is where I would like to leave this world from because I love rainy stormy nights with lots of thunder and lightning and here in Cleveland Ohio we just don't get it anymore I think it's because it's so damp looted Even the Rain can't get through. How sad

This is my favorite kind of day when its dark and rainy and mysterious.
Oooh, I love the lightning show! Those are always so much fun to watch. One quibble about these videos, though: the sound of the rain is recorded outside, and storms sound different inside a building. It muffles the sound a bit, and that's part of what makes it sound cozy. Besides that, I love the storms, and these interiors are so pleasant and homey. *love*
