These Cort G series are really good value, I still have a Cort G290 that came stock with EMG pickups, flamed maple top, bird's eye neck, ebony fingerboard, sperzel tuners, Wilkinson Trem and it was 500 dollars on eBay 15 years ago
Tomo! It always brings a smile to my face to hear you play and see the joy it brings you! I’m sure this is a great guitar, but I have a feeling you could make just about any guitar feel and sound amazing…your touch is incredible. Thank you for all the videos, you truly are an inspiration!
I like all types of music but for some reason prefer to play metal with HH setup, but once tried that HSS 260 Cort and spend like 30 minutes in the shop playing on single coils in different positions. It was like - that's what they were talking about, that chimey super nice clean sounds. Addictive. Might buy 280 HSS.
The song's melody and chord progression reminded me of Masayoshi Takanaka's style!! Your must record a studio version and get us all to enjoy. Thanks for the inspiring and educating video Tomo-san!
I just bought the Cort 260, it’s very similar to this one but with 3 single coil sized humbuckers and you can coil split all of them too making it extremely versatile. Also the most comfortable strat style I’ve ever played and really worth it. Great video!
Bought a Korean second-hand Cort G-260BK with basically identical specs to this one (except maple top) for 150E. You can molest the tremolo forever and it will always stay in tune.
Good Evening Mr Fujita, I like the sound of this Guitar 😊 so soothing to listen to whatever you are playing! I would have skipped this video today thinking it was unboxing 😄Thank you 🙏🏽😊 if I choose black and white Guitar, grey and brown will get angry with me! 😅😂
Man... Cort is doing a full court press on marketing! All my favorite TH-cam teachers are getting the Corts. I'd love to see you review the Cort Cut Craft.
I bought myself the best guitar I could afford in September for my birthday. A Squier Affinity SSS and Fender Mustang LT25 modeling amp, with the gig bag, chords and strap, picks, strings and I got a capo. All Fender and altogether $480.00 which was just about what I could afford. I had a choice between the SSS and the HSS. I really liked the Fender Lead II I used to have and that one was a SSS so I chose the Squier Affinity SSS over the HSS. I really think it's a great guitar for the price, and for getting whatever chops I have back, and advancing from there. I'm intermediate I guess. I'm ok but plenty of things I still have to learn. I want to develop an efficient practice routine and rededicate myself to the guitar the way I did in the beginning. I watched this video and I'm left wondering if I should have gotten the HSS but it was a decision I had to make in like 5 minutes because a friend was picking it up from a guitar shop for me after I'd arranged everything except that part. So I was on the phone with the guy who was the owner of the guitar shop, and my friend was picking it up for me and I thought about it and chose the SSS, although I'd had a humbucker , single, single before the Fender Lead II was 3 single coil and I really liked that one and chose the SSS based on that. I think it's a great guitar for the price but after listening to the sound of the humbucker and middle on your Cort I wonder about my choice. Tomo, you make every guitar sound so good that now I think I'll feel better if I watch you play the Silver PRS SSS. It looks like mine almost (except for the headstock on the PRS is a better design I think...the g string doesn't have the angle above the nut going to the tuning pegs as much and it looks cooler too I think 😂). The Affinity SSS is fine for now, frets are well done and polished at the edges. Nothing jagged and I like the amp. 30 preset effects with adjustable reverb, gain, chorus and echo for each effect. I can't buy a bunch of peddles right now and its got those . It even has a simulated acoustic guitar sound that really sounds close to an acoustic! I'm content but just wonder what the humbucker Affinity might have sounded like. I try not to regret my decision because I can't do anything about it now, and I'm happy with the SSS enough. I really like the volume swelling technic you were using. I try that sometimes to play the beginning of the Rush song Xanadu and I still need practice but I have time 😂 Thank you Tomo, it was funny when you brought in the loop out of nowhere, you surprised me and then I was hearing what I thought was your metronome and it was your foot 😂 so funny because it was clicking loud enough to hear it very well...you looked like you were having so much fun. Sometimes you just get lost in your playing and it's great fun to watch you once you get going. Thanks for this video. You played in different styles and covered so many approaches to playing, all in one video. There's a lot to learn in this one, thank you very much Tomo. I saw the unboxing of the Cort, and I'm glad you dedicated a video to it. It's sounds beautiful and looks beautiful too. I saw Zakk Wylde from Ozzy Osbourne's band play a Black Sabbath song on a "Hello Kitty" little toy kids guitar. He sang and played the song N.I.B. and it was so funny because he's talented enough to squeeze music out of even this toy guitar! 😂 So I was reminded that, it really doesn't matter what guitar you play Tomo, it's a great guitar the Cort but when it's in the right hands it's easy to see the full potential of the instrument. After all, you sound great with just the middle pickup! 😂 Thank you very much for showing us around the Cort, I'm a believer!🎸🎶❤️☮️🙏

Great vid as always Tomo, I've been considering either buying a Cort G280 or an Ibanez SA460 and I think im gonna go with the cort after watching this video thanks :D
I really like what this guitar has going on, like many Cort guitars. I'd really like to try a Cort Hiram Bullock signature model -- he was a terrific player. With regard to your blue Ibanez Prestige AZ: I believe you opted for 3 single-coil pickups rather than the standard HSS configuration shared by this Cort. If so, is there a particular reason? Is it mainly due to your love of vintage Strats, or was something about that guitar asking to be SSS?
I posted this comment while watching the beginning of the video, and a few minutes later you mention Hiram Bullock! He must really exemplify the humbucking strat style.
Great chops Tomo! I’m interested in their Tele model, would it be possible to do a review on that one?!….Ty for your great playing! That guitar sounds good!
Hey Tomo, I dunno if you could answer this... to play, between this guitar (cort g280 select) and Sire S7 Larry Carleton (HSS, also)... which would you pick up? Your vids are a pleasure to watch and I always leave knowing things I didnt expect to learn. Cheers Tomo! 😎🎸✨🛸
Have had the g280 select for a couple of weeks now... wanted a great S-type guitar to replace my Squier affinitity strat ('01)... it's one of the most comfortable necks I've ever played.. lovely pickups... quite resonant... very very pleased with this guitar :)
Great question! I always saw their name at NAMM show and simply I did not know. First I thought "cheaper guitar" but through these demos.. I am very impressed by their playing ability and quality on instrument. Great quality and this price range. Pretty awesome!
Well, I saw quite a few videos about this Select on other channels. All the videos were put up very recently... Just saying. But the guitar is nice, yes, no doubt.

Dear Mr. Tomo Fujita, I was very amazed while watching your demo performance at 05:44 , I would like to ask your permission, can I make a cover of the demo performance and take some theme licks for material in making my song? If you don't mind, I hope you can reply to my comment.
I saw one Cort in a shop this year, same shape with sunburst fender stratocaster including the buttons, I was afraid to buy it believing that Cort might be a fender fake now 😁 But I do like Cort may be my imagination about faking is going too far 😃
Hello Tomo, Love the spirit and playing in all of your videos, so, thanks for keeping on doing that on a regular basis! I was curious to know though.. how would you compare this guitar to the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass CT50 you played some months ago in terms of feel, resonance, vibrato bar playing, single coil pickup sounds and weight?
Just saw this Cort g280 recently. It looks/sounds really good especially for that recessed trem bridge. Tomo do you know any other guitar have that kind of feature (except floyd rose style) ? I know ibanez Az have recessed bridge too. thanks!
Hi Sensei, just and update about my situation with Cort. They have not answered my email after 5 days, so I guess it will be 3-0 waiting for their answers. I didn't think their customer service would be this bad :( I just hope that nothing happens to my guitar because I think there's no way I will get it serviced under warranty. A dissapointment because yes, these are nice guitars. Best regards.

Yes I will and I hope I can learn much better my music teacher moved to another country and many guitar training places are closed due to the pandemic I am trying to improve myself on the internet by looking at online guitar courses.
I'm not Fujita sensei but I will give you my own sentiment as a long time Line 6 Helix user. You can never go wrong with decent modelers. But the issue is they don't sound like the real amps, because they are not meant to. They are modeling miked up amp tone, not the amp alone in the room. If your goal is to have all the real tube amp tones in one unit, modeling isn't for you. But the advantage with modelers is that they do sound realistic in terms of miked up amp tones, and you can have your own sound where ever you go. Where as, different places have different amps, different microphones, and different sound guys, so you will never sound the same from a place to another, with real amps. Another advantage is that you will have all the pedal you will and will not need for a few hundred or a little over a grand, and you can use the modeler as all in one unit, or you can use it like a pedal board going into a real amp, because you can just turn off the amp and the cabinet sims in your modeler. Where as if you were to buy all those effects in stomp box forms, you will have to sell a few houses and cars. Or you can use the amp sim in the modeler, and plug it into a guitar cabinet and get the amp alone in the room tone. Of course, you will have to turn off the cab sims in the modeler to do that. Or you can just get the tube amp head, and plug it into a modeler with the cab sim on for dirrect recording. Disadvantages: Not many. Just some tube snobs will talk crap about you for not sticking to the tradition. Some people might compliment your tone at the beginning, but take it all back when you disclose to them that you were using a modeler. But for me, even that brings me joy and laughtor because that means that they didn't even realize whether I was using a modeler or the real amp.
11:23 You've now taken all the wood wind instruments out with that playing. lol 12:16 You've taken out all the trumpet players with that tone and volume swell playing. lol Sounds great, looks great, playing is great, I might just sell my Ibanez AZ premium and get that instead. I might swap out the nutt though, because it's just plastic and might ware out fast and create all the tuning issues in the world. It will be the best if I won't have to and cutting it for 010s will be enough.
Hi Tomo! Can you hear differences between the g280 and Schecter nick johnston/route 66/sire S7? Of course if you just tryed one of them. Cause I can’t choose, can you give me an advice? 🤔
Wook averywon a cheap guitar I would never use in this life time but I'm telling you its amazing. We had this argument already.. I know I'm a gear snob lmfao. This guy can make a 20 year old hello kitty sound amazing.
Hi Mr Tomo, I am interested in getting the Cort G280 , but was wondering if the whammybar can withstand abuse...? Can it do divebombs and stuff...? I would appreciate any advice given...
There's no non locking trems that can hold perfect tune after an abuse. You'd might as well go with the floyd rose if that's what you want to do. But if you want those vintage style trems, one tip is give the bridge a yank upwards right after the dive. That brings the tuning back almost to perfect. Another tip is lubing the nutt slots, using the roller string trees and locking tuners.
So many tones! Which is your favorite?

Hey Tomo, I dunno if you could answer this... to play, between this guitar (cort g280 select) and Sire S7 Larry Carleton (HSS, also)... which would you pick up? Your vids are a pleasure to watch and I always leave knowing things I didnt expect to learn. Cheers Tomo! 😎🎸✨🛸
Cort guitars are so great! The quality is amazing! I never touched that guitar you are talking about. Thank you so much!
@@TomoFujitaMusic 🙏 😊
Have had the g280 select for a couple of weeks now... wanted a great S-type guitar to replace my Squier affinitity strat ('01)... it's one of the most comfortable necks I've ever played.. lovely pickups... quite resonant... very very pleased with this guitar :)
Sounds great. Question? Why Cort? I realize they make many other brands but is there something particular about them? It seems extremely nice.
@@TomoFujitaMusic thanks Tomo. I'll look for a local dealer to try if I can find it. Bet I can. Again thanks.
@@kevinmorris7722 I got a great deal on a Cort not even sold in the USA, so I suggest you check out Thomann if you are looking for a Cort.

did you have any trouble getting your guitar shipped and were there any hidden costs and how long did it take to get to you?
Hey Tomo
Love your playing.

Dear Mr. Tomo Fujita, I was very amazed while watching your demo performance at 05:44 , I would like to ask your permission, can I make a cover of the demo performance and take some theme licks for material in making my song? If you don't mind, I hope you can reply to my comment.
Thank you so much! You can use similar chord progressions. That’s fine.
Use this chords and write your own melody
@@TomoFujitaMusic thanks sir
cort guitars are underrated
Yes!
I actually thought you were gonna play the guitar solo of Waiting On The World To Change on 4:46 😂
Really?
Choose between G280dx and g280 select. Which one?
Hi Tomo-san, the Cort sounds really nice...but then again in your hands, it surely would! Thanks for sharing this. Regards from Australia.
Thanks for listening
Hello, nice review n playing! The guitar is heavy? I’m concerned about its weight
Not at all! Thank you so much!
I think the new azes were built by them too for Ibanez
I saw one Cort in a shop this year, same shape with sunburst fender stratocaster including the buttons,
I was afraid to buy it believing that Cort might be a fender fake now 😁
But I do like Cort may be my imagination about faking is going too far 😃
Thanks for sharing
Tomo can you please give us a tour of all of your guitars ? You have a rad collection
I would love to do... so many! I need someone to move my camera around!
@@TomoFujitaMusic 😂 I’ll do it for you :)
My room is so messy! That's main reason I just cannot do that!
I can relate! I dont want to record my mess.
Wow. I didnt know Jackie Chan played guitar and had a TH-cam channel, amazing!
Now you know! Thank you!
Hello Tomo,
Love the spirit and playing in all of your videos, so, thanks for keeping on doing that on a regular basis! I was curious to know though.. how would you compare this guitar to the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass CT50 you played some months ago in terms of feel, resonance, vibrato bar playing, single coil pickup sounds and weight?
This one is much higher quality over all.
Just saw this Cort g280 recently. It looks/sounds really good especially for that recessed trem bridge. Tomo do you know any other guitar have that kind of feature (except floyd rose style) ? I know ibanez Az have recessed bridge too. thanks!
Can't find any for sale in the USA
Contact Cort
Hi Sensei, just and update about my situation with Cort. They have not answered my email after 5 days, so I guess it will be 3-0 waiting for their answers. I didn't think their customer service would be this bad :( I just hope that nothing happens to my guitar because I think there's no way I will get it serviced under warranty. A dissapointment because yes, these are nice guitars. Best regards.
Thank you for letting me know. Please email me with your email address. Let's find out! My email address is tfujita@berklee.edu
Make sure that you send with your email address that you sent to Cort.
No worry! I will fix it!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you so much Sensei. I sent you an email.

My second question is what kind of electric guitar should I use? I started new, but I like rock and humbucker the most, but I don't know how to choose a guitar. Can you help me choose?
Good question! Please wait until September first! I can tell you. Something new guitar will be available around $400USD.
Simple is the best!

Yes! Thank you! Time coding
Apologies if you've been asked this a million times, but what are your views on the use of digital modeling amps and how to make best use of them?
I don't have any those amps. Simple is the best!
Disadvantages:
Not many.
Do you like Mike Oldfield Moon shadow because I got it on vinyl Lp
Tomo..do you think the big head helps the tone..?
Maybe...
Sounds fantastic to me
Thank you!
11:23
You've now taken all the wood wind instruments out with that playing. lol
12:16
You've taken out all the trumpet players with that tone and volume swell playing. lol
Sounds great, looks great, playing is great, I might just sell my Ibanez AZ premium and get that instead.
I might swap out the nutt though, because it's just plastic and might ware out fast and create all the tuning issues in the world. It will be the best if I won't have to and cutting it for 010s will be enough.
Thank you!!
Hi Tomo! Can you hear differences between the g280 and Schecter nick johnston/route 66/sire S7? Of course if you just tryed one of them. Cause I can’t choose, can you give me an advice? 🤔

@@TomoFujitaMusic oh thanks tom..... finally got to hear new guitar player after a very long time.
Is that sammi back there playing the rhythm guitar
Hi Mr Tomo, I am interested in getting the Cort G280 , but was wondering if the whammybar can withstand abuse...? Can it do divebombs and stuff...? I would appreciate any advice given...
I think so. I don't use that much the whammy bar.. but I would love to.
Yes!
Please do a video on the ibanez azes40
