It's hard to rank these seasons because I think they're all really good to excellent, but the final two seasons of Breaking Bad are still some of the greatest television I've ever witnessed. As superb as Better Call Saul was, nothing can equal Breaking Bad's final seasons.

out of curiousity, have you rewatched any of the episodes from bcs final season? I wasn't big on the season but rewatching it made me appreciate the entire season more.
Better call Saul Season 6 (last 5 episodes where disappointing) the begining of season 6 better call Saul first 8 episodes blew my mind, no pun intended. I wish they kept that momentum for the end of season 6

Great video Cody. This is very hard to rank for me cause I love Breaking bad but I also think BCS is just better from a technical aspect. The crew, writers ect. Just hot better this time around. You can tell. They've gotten better at their craft. So yeah there's no bcs without BB but, BB didn't take off till season 3 while bcs was phenomenal from the start. Now I love BB slow burn throughout its first 2 season but it did not take off till S3. Still love them both and my ranking is a bit cliche but I truly believe both shows get better every season. 1. Breaking Bad season has to be better than some BCS season purely because Breaking Bad is where the climax of the whole universe happens. Even then I have to concede that BCS is better from a character writing standpoint. Besides the point I feel like at a certain point Walt became well explored while Jimmy is still fascinating and leaves a lot of questions as to the kind of man he is by the end of the show. I can imagine someone ranking Breaking Bad seasons higher than Better Call Saul seasons but like BCS over BB

Ya i don't get the hate better call saul season 6 raps every plot line up amazingly. Nachos story ends spectacularly Howard's fate is super sad but still a perfect conclusion to his character. The Lalo vs gus storyline ends amazingly with him dieing with a bloody smile. The kim and saul break up was super sad but beautifully handled and most of the cameos actually effected the plot in really interesting ways and the final episode was sooo amazing with Jimmy finally owning up too his actions and finally over coming his saul personality honestly this season should be up there with breaking bad season 4 and 5

After watching this video a couple of months ago of ranking Breaking Bad and Better call Saul I decided to buy it instead of streaming it I took your word on it and these series are excellent it’s now in my top ten series thanks for the recommendation
Great ranking! Ive just finished BCS, and I gotta say I disagree with you're placement of season 6. Personally I loved the first 6 episodes, I thought they were immensely entertaining and built up to episode 7 with absolute precision, I also appreciate thr fact that the show stayed true to the first five seasons. Its a character driven comedy/drama, so im actually really happy that we didnt spend the whole season exploring cartel stuff. Episode 7,8 and 9 are three of the best episodes of television ever put to screen. Change my mind. They felt like the ozymandias of BCS, and they were perfect imo. Unfortunately I have to agree about the Gene stuff. The last four episodes did a lot to make the season as a whole feel uneven and directionless. I do love Saul Gone as a finale, but I really wasnt big on the time skip. I still think that its one of the best seasons! But i can see why you werent as keen on it.

My favorite season out of both shows is season 4 bcs. I tend to gravitate towards bcs more because saul is my favorite character out of the universe. And i totally agree with your skyler take when i watched the show through out i seen everyone was talking about how terrible skylar was but i was thinking to myself everything is literally walts fault but she did end up becoming not so innocent herself.

Weird thing happened after I watched BCS I starting likeking that more than BB every much more but still both are phenomenals things so here is list (Including also El: Camino) 12.El: Camino (Good seeing Jesse by himself) 7/10 11. I really enjoy the 3rd season of Breaking Bad along with all the seasons for that matter, but just in this last year I've referred two different family members to this show and they both lost interest right around the beginning of the 3rd season (and they didn't watch the show together). It's weird because I always considered the 3rd season to be a strong season, however in virtually every show that I've ever watched where the main character is splitting up with their spouse, it's the least enjoyable time of the series. Sopranos comes to mind. It's just depressing and unfun to watch. This season really hits it's stride around episode 6 Sunset (which is the motor home warrant episode) and continues strong from that point forward. The divorce stuff earlier in the season is a bit of a downer, however I really dig the storyline where Jessie gets his house back from his parents and even the school assembly stuff with the plane crash is hilarious.

Nice ranking Cody. Totally agree re: BrBa S2, tho I haven’t met as many naysayers as you. I’d likewise have to place S3 ahead of it, but I’d argue S2 is more consistent-maybe as consistent a season as any. JMO. I have to split BrBa S5 into A n B as I enjoy B far far more. A is dark as shit like you say, but here it’s partly cuz Walt has become such a cruel insufferable ass. I enjoyed Saul Gone more than Felina... the latter was satisfying n clever but man did Walt get lucky in accomplishing absolutely everything he wanted to do. I think Felina is a tad overrated (tho series finales tend to get more praise(/hate) comparatively than they deserve); The Leftovers and Six Feet Under are two examples of series finales I preferred to Felina. S4 of BrBa is the best season of TV I’ve seen. The last ~half is flawless... unpredictable, breathtaking, incredibly acted.

I am a diehard Breaking Bad fan and I love every single season, and every single episode, and almost every character. Almost. I think Marie is fucking ANNOYING and a hypocrite. She literally judges everyone but then turns around and does the dumbest fucking crimes, and then proceeds to call her hubby to get her out of trouble.
I personally consider breaking bad to be 6 seasons long, not 5 because Season 5 had a over year long mid season break. Usually mid season breaks are only 2-6months. I only say this because this shapes my ranking. I consider Season 5B to be on the same level as Season 4 while I consider Season 5A to be one of my least favorite seasons in this universe.

I actually like every season of Better Call Saul more than Breaking Bad. The main reason is there are just way too many characters I hated watching on Breaking Bad that kill any interest I have in rewatching it. Any time Skyler, Walt Jr, or Hanks wife are on screen its just terrible. They are all extremely annoying and uninteresting. And whenever I try to watch the show again and I get to those parts I'm reminded of why I never put Breaking Bad at the top of my list of best shows ever. But Better Call Saul doesn't have any of those. It has characters you love or characters you love to hate, but nobody is boring or behaves in an annoying way that kills the momentum of the episode.
Why we don't like Skyler is not supernatural and it's not because she creates a road block for our sinister protagonist. One of the bigger reasons is, she goes into this weird psycho, silent treatment mode anytime she is being lied too (with Marie as well), which is so annoying and frustrating to watch that it makes her reaction to the lie worse than the lie in of itself. This reaction would have been ok if it was used sparingly but Skyler goes into this on a consistent basis throughout the series. She needs to communicate and nip things in the bud, but her silent treatment makes her difficult to like. The actress is amazing at doing it, and think the show and/or the actress over utilized this reaction. The other thing for me at least is, she's no one I would ever want to be around or hang out with. What does she bring to the table. She's a ditz. her and Walt are the oddest couple... how did those two meet and what did they have in common? Even Walt has some positive character traits, but does Skyler have any? In the first season her concern for Walt's cancer diagnoses was probably her only admirable/like-able personality trait of the entire series. In the final season or two the writers took this weird angle with her where she was scared of Walter... which I'm not sure if they were going for humor or were looking for an excuse for her to stay with Walter or what, but I don't buy it. And it didn't help matters that with every season the actress became increasingly less f**kable... pardon my french. I'm not shallow, this was just the icing the cake is all. I go back and forth depending on my mood and that is... was Skyler exactly the character she needed to be in this story or was she a poorly written character.... today I lean towards poorly, but tomorrow I will go with the character she needed to be.
it is like ranking the chapters in a book, you have to judge the overall series, the strong parts don t exist without the weak ones setting them up this is just clicbaiting

I think Breaking Bad is the closest thing to a perfect show we will see in our lifetimes. Better Call Saul is amazing, don't get me wrong, but damn Breaking Bad is just Incredible.

After watching this video a couple of months ago of ranking Breaking Bad and Better call Saul I decided to buy it instead of streaming it I took your word on it and these series are excellent it’s now in my top ten series thanks for the recommendation
Great ranking! Ive just finished BCS, and I gotta say I disagree with you're placement of season 6. Personally I loved the first 6 episodes, I thought they were immensely entertaining and built up to episode 7 with absolute precision, I also appreciate thr fact that the show stayed true to the first five seasons. Its a character driven comedy/drama, so im actually really happy that we didnt spend the whole season exploring cartel stuff. Episode 7,8 and 9 are three of the best episodes of television ever put to screen. Change my mind. They felt like the ozymandias of BCS, and they were perfect imo. Unfortunately I have to agree about the Gene stuff. The last four episodes did a lot to make the season as a whole feel uneven and directionless. I do love Saul Gone as a finale, but I really wasnt big on the time skip. I still think that its one of the best seasons! But i can see why you werent as keen on it.

My favorite season out of both shows is season 4 bcs. I tend to gravitate towards bcs more because saul is my favorite character out of the universe. And i totally agree with your skyler take when i watched the show through out i seen everyone was talking about how terrible skylar was but i was thinking to myself everything is literally walts fault but she did end up becoming not so innocent herself.

Weird thing happened after I watched BCS I starting likeking that more than BB every much more but still both are phenomenals things so here is list (Including also El: Camino)
12.El: Camino (Good seeing Jesse by himself) 7/10
11. BCS Season 1 (On the first time was kinda hard to get into this starting kinda slow and not much interesting things really don't happened but after first half it really catch me and I'm started to fall into this) 8/10

As you can tell by this ranking I like better call saul more. I still absolutely adore breaking bad and it's My 2nd favourite TV show of all time but better call saul impacted me more. Breaking bad connects with yoy more on a plot level while better call saul connects with you more on a character level. And that just impacts me more. I get your criticisms of season 6 but to me episodes 7-13 really push it to number 1 for me.

Can you review every episode of breaking bad like you did better call Saul?
I really enjoy the 3rd season of Breaking Bad along with all the seasons for that matter, but just in this last year I've referred two different family members to this show and they both lost interest right around the beginning of the 3rd season (and they didn't watch the show together). It's weird because I always considered the 3rd season to be a strong season, however in virtually every show that I've ever watched where the main character is splitting up with their spouse, it's the least enjoyable time of the series. Sopranos comes to mind. It's just depressing and unfun to watch. This season really hits it's stride around episode 6 Sunset (which is the motor home warrant episode) and continues strong from that point forward. The divorce stuff earlier in the season is a bit of a downer, however I really dig the storyline where Jessie gets his house back from his parents and even the school assembly stuff with the plane crash is hilarious.

Totally agree re: BrBa S2, tho I haven’t met as many naysayers as you. I’d likewise have to place S3 ahead of it, but I’d argue S2 is more consistent-maybe as consistent a season as any. JMO.
I have to split BrBa S5 into A n B as I enjoy B far far more. A is dark as shit like you say, but here it’s partly cuz Walt has become such a cruel insufferable ass.
I enjoyed Saul Gone more than Felina... the latter was satisfying n clever but man did Walt get lucky in accomplishing absolutely everything he wanted to do. I think Felina is a tad overrated (tho series finales tend to get more praise(/hate) comparatively than they deserve); The Leftovers and Six Feet Under are two examples of series finales I preferred to Felina.
S4 of BrBa is the best season of TV I’ve seen. The last ~half is flawless... unpredictable, breathtaking, incredibly acted.

I am a diehard Breaking Bad fan and I love every single season, and every single episode, and almost every character. Almost. I think Marie is fucking ANNOYING and a hypocrite. She literally judges everyone but then turns around and does the dumbest fucking crimes, and then proceeds to call her hubby to get her out of trouble.

I personally consider breaking bad to be 6 seasons long, not 5 because Season 5 had a over year long mid season break. Usually mid season breaks are only 2-6months. I only say this because this shapes my ranking. I consider Season 5B to be on the same level as Season 4 while I consider Season 5A to be one of my least favorite seasons in this universe.

I actually like every season of Better Call Saul more than Breaking Bad. The main reason is there are just way too many characters I hated watching on Breaking Bad that kill any interest I have in rewatching it. Any time Skyler, Walt Jr, or Hanks wife are on screen its just terrible. They are all extremely annoying and uninteresting. And whenever I try to watch the show again and I get to those parts I'm reminded of why I never put Breaking Bad at the top of my list of best shows ever. But Better Call Saul doesn't have any of those. It has characters you love or characters you love to hate, but nobody is boring or behaves in an annoying way that kills the momentum of the episode.

Why we don't like Skyler is not supernatural and it's not because she creates a road block for our sinister protagonist. One of the bigger reasons is, she goes into this weird psycho, silent treatment mode anytime she is being lied too (with Marie as well), which is so annoying and frustrating to watch that it makes her reaction to the lie worse than the lie in of itself. This reaction would have been ok if it was used sparingly but Skyler goes into this on a consistent basis throughout the series. She needs to communicate and nip things in the bud, but her silent treatment makes her difficult to like. The actress is amazing at doing it, and think the show and/or the actress over utilized this reaction. The other thing for me at least is, she's no one I would ever want to be around or hang out with. What does she bring to the table. She's a ditz. her and Walt are the oddest couple... how did those two meet and what did they have in common? Even Walt has some positive character traits, but does Skyler have any? In the first season her concern for Walt's cancer diagnoses was probably her only admirable/like-able personality trait of the entire series. In the final season or two the writers took this weird angle with her where she was scared of Walter... which I'm not sure if they were going for humor or were looking for an excuse for her to stay with Walter or what, but I don't buy it. And it didn't help matters that with every season the actress became increasingly less f**kable... pardon my french. I'm not shallow, this was just the icing the cake is all. I go back and forth depending on my mood and that is... was Skyler exactly the character she needed to be in this story or was she a poorly written character.... today I lean towards poorly, but tomorrow I will go with the character she needed to be.
