- This plane is and was a nightmare for me. I harvested it for the few good parts it had and the other 90% is now in the local landfill. I just wish I never hit that buy button. I lost $500!!!!!
Plane features and specs from the Motion RC Product page:
This is part 2 of a 3 video series covering my REMAIDEN of the Freewing F-14a Tomcat 64mm. (yes I am aware that there is truly no REMAIDEN).
Awesome FGFRC, I'm going to follow your recommendations. Funny how people on the forums saying, "the wings are deformed, you have to sand down the leading edge"(this is coming from so-called experts, been engineers for decades LOL). Then you just set it up by the manual and fly it with no problems, 😂. Thank you for your review.
Those guys on rcgs are the only ones that can't setup planes properly. All they do is bitch and whine . They act like this with all there planes they own. RCG is going down hill
Thanks for that. I tend to start with the manual first unless the plane shows me otherwise.
Fun factor to the max!
From the ageny of defeat, to the thrill of victory. That's what our hobby is all about.
Thank you Fat Guy and your lovely bride.
Cheers
Thanks from both of us.
Way to go a re-maiden! This Tomcat is a beauty to see flying! The part that stops in the last landing it looks like she was stopped by the deck wire! Awesome!! Thanks for sharing! 👍🔥🙌
Thanks 👍
Great video and a good landing. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Nice! The reverse thrust stopped the bunny hop and the carnage it can create.
Thanks and the gear were perfectly fine. Very tough bird.
Awesome stuff bud. Nothing better than flying it yourself and going from their ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!! i can't wait to fly her again.
Awesome!
Thanks, plane is long gone to the landfill but fun until the wing mechanism gave up.
Nice come back 👍🏻👍🏻 the final approach looked much much better ..
Thanks 👍
Notice this tomcat is a bit harder to land than the bigger one 😊 it will take a few more flights to figure this one out for sure 😊
I agree. more flying needed!
Nice sticking with it and not giving up. Better landings but I’m still curious why in your other video did it drop a wing and crash. Your throttle control seemed very similar.
Well it was a very windy day that day with serious unpredictable cross runway gusts. That is the only explanation other that still flaring too soon.
This jet will bite you bad. Has wing folding problems on a lot. Rods pop off. Gyro not good . Need a v2
Mine is in the local landfill now after I stripped it of parts. Worst Freewing Plane I ever had.
well Fats I dont need to watch your receiver settings video you showed that all in this video and your seem to have it dialed in. Like I said in your part 2 video im using a lemons 10ch and I got it in there good but not sure yet if im going to do the bypass of the stock gyro and use a ar8360t not sure yet? Love to hear any off video comments back to me here in the comment reply. Oh btw Im working on my BH B1 Bomber and thats almost the same as this in away with the wing sweep but I cant get a really answer from them of my issues with settings on flaps and rates and mixes and thats another huge bird with its own issues. Great Job on all your videos Fats and let me know on any advice on this bird and the B1 as far as settings. Thanks again my friend.
This is also my first sweep wing plane so I cannot advise on a mix. But If I was starting out fresh with that type of bird i would watch vids on how people are setting up the 80mm tomcat. It requires a mix to get it to work and it has been out forever.
@@FatGuyFliesRC thats good advice i didnt think of watching the older f14 setup. Only two brothers shows his setup but he sets up for his planes to do all that crazy stuff and its not what i do with my birds. But thanks again.
Where do you get the performance meter?
Right here: www.motionrc.com/qYBEmv
@@FatGuyFliesRC Thanks!! Does that have an internal battery?
@LoveRC why don't you read the description on the product
@@Mikeylikesit1968 I did and it’s doesn’t say there is a battery in it.
