As you speak of things we can do for Gazans specifically, while I hear the actions of boycott, spreading awareness, briefly about charity organizations and most importantly duas and improving upon ourselves, I feel like no one's talking about the many many families with personal fund raising campaigns that are absolutely desperately begging for help with donations and support yet no one in the mainstream or SM is highlighting their plight which is essentially an active rescue mission we can become a part of, especially those of us that are eager to help them as directly as possible. I feel like there's grandiose narratives of wanting to go to Jihaad to fight for them, martyrdom and big plans to destroy the enemy somehow but something so easy, practical and actually accessible is being ignored. These people are striving to make Hijra because they're being persecuted, isn't ensuring their evacuation, safety, survival and help to achieve their goals, trying to help them towards a better life among the ultimate services in the path of Allah for them? A Jihaad that is actually possible? I fear we've created such a Super-hero image of Palestinians with self sacrificing martyrs, impossibly brave and resilient Muslims who are willing to keep fighting and die for their religion (all of which is absolutely true btw and even more incredible than we can imagine) that we forget there are people who are dying to escape, almost like it would ruin that larger than life narrative somehow to admit that there are Gazans crying pleading, desperate for normal lives, who want and deserve all the things we have and more, DMing people like me with such pain and desperation it kills me, and influential people especially, are missing them out completely in their speeches, talks and calls to action. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever says, 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ سُمَىٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ. فِي يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ حُطَّتْ خَطَايَاهُ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ ".
