    That stud coming out is a miracle! So close to needing to drill out the block and install a helicoil.

      @LifeOfBurch I luckily haven't had that happen with mine. But, personally, I'd keep an eye on the bearings on the back half of the cvt(behind where the clutch sits). At ~7k miles on my Navi, I had a bearing grenade itself in there. Definitely not fun to deal with. I have my fingers crossed that everything stays reliable

    The solution for your disappearing wrench problem is go to an estate sale or fair grounds and buy a bunch of used 11mm wrenches. I have like seven 13 mm wrenches. I have a nice selection of 10 mm wrenches also from ratcheting to long. It's nice to have extras and doubles.

    I generally hear a good amount of people who ride all sorts of Honda bikes complain about shitting fittings. Oddly, I still have a high opinion of their generally quality of machine, but these crappy fittings don't bode well. Not sure why they changed the types of fittings they use because this wasn't a problem 15-20 years ago.

    • @LifeOfBurch
      @LifeOfBurch  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you’re talking about the exhaust stud that broke, that’s not a Honda thing I don’t think. Navi’s are notorious for breaking exhausts, especially the Vance & Hines that break at the flange weld. I think the Yoshi is just so beefy and strong that instead of the flange weld breaking under stress, the stud took the brunt of it. To be fair, I didn’t use a torque wrench the first time so it very well could’ve been over/under torqued, and it broke when I hit a huge bump, so it was just the perfect storm for a break in my opinion 🤷🏼‍♂️

Later on i was in Oxnard CA picking up (truckdriver at the time) and what did I spy on the sidewalk? A Snapon 11mm wrench. That size must be jinxed. Ordered a new stud for only $1.87. It's great that the parts on this bike are dirt cheap but really wish they used a better quality stud for the exhaust. I'm sure it will be a nightmare to remove the broken off piece. Do you think I should drain out the gas before putting the Navi on its side like that?

    For the side of the license plate mounting hole/ plate screw you were having trouble with; pull the mounting nut off the turn signal mounting screw and slide the turn signal out of the hole (don't worry about the wire, it's not in the way enough to matter). Now mount the plate with the plastic screw and nut, and then trim the extra plastic off the screw that sticks past the now screwed on nut. Re-mount the turn signal and life is now back in equilibrium. 😉

    Next time try a left handed drill bit, and don't forget that because it is left handed you have to run the drill in revers. Most times the bolt will come out with the drill, but always use a drill that is right for the ez out just in case it dose not come out, I find the square ez outs work best, but for get about the snap on ones they break or round off way to easy . When you use a right hand drill you are making the bolt tighter in stead of backing it out, which makes it harder for the ez out to work. You can also get a extension for the drill to hold the drill farther away so no need to squeeze the drill in a tight spot making it a lot easer to line the drill up to the bolt. Pays to be a Industrial Millwright some times. By the way I do like most of snap on tools just not there ez outs.
