That DQ was the best thing to happen to Aljos career. Yeah he was hated but he fully embraced that villian role. He gained some fans for it but a lot of people also tuned it to see him lose (especially that Yan rematch) which made him a lot of money. I'd almost go as far as to say the fight saved the Division because Nobody cared about Bantamweight before Aljo became the Villian. Dillasaw Vs Cruz happened on a fight night. That's how bad this division was in popularity. Aljo vs Sandhangen as an Eliminator was in the Undercard of a women's fight

He stopped it because that choke is not one you can just gut out because it is different than other chokes. It doesn't target the arteries or cut off breathing. It literally attacks the vertebrae in your neck. Herb stopped it because he knew that Robbie didn't have a clear understanding of the danger he was in and could have been paralyzed

I didn't see many people criticizing Strickland after Costa. Strickland was chasing the whole time and Costa ran away for 25 mins. Strickland isn't an A10 Warthog with a cannon and missiles to destroy fleeing adversaries.
It's definitely a term that not many are familiar with but seeing how it plays out in fights really sheds light on its impact. A win doesn't always feel like a victory, especially with the repercussions that follow.
The problem with Aljo, for me, was the video of him coming home and unwrapping the belt like a swaddled baby to show to his family. You didn't earn that belt. Any person in the entire world could take an illegal shot and "win." I wasn't mad that he got awarded the victory. I was mad that he thought he achieved something.
Not an MMA Fight but i thought its fun to mention Ali vs holmes, Holmes won decisively but the whole world turned against him, because he was beaten ali with the disease, till this DECADES LATER! and people still overhate and underestimate holmes, because of that fight, he even knew it was such a bad win that he cried after the fight.

Never should a belt change hands on a DQ. If anything: 1.The title should be vacated. 2.Percentage of the former champ's purse should go to the challenger. 3. And the challenger gets an immediate rematch w/ former champ or next contender for vacated title.

Cause Sean talks like he puts on Justin Gathe type performances, if you can’t walk the walk of being an entertaining fighter please don’t talk the talk
@@marblejar786fighting smart isn't stalling to win a decision
To add to what everyone else is saying, Sean’s finish rate is abysmal compared to everyone else
Strickland is held to a higher standard because of what he says BEFORE the fight. He says he is going for blood, he is going to KILL his opponent, the violence will be insane, he is a savage, etc, etc....and then he spends the entire fight in guard and flinching his way across the octagon. He talks like a madman but fights like a coward.
More honorable mentions: GSP vs Hendricks and Jon Jones vs Gus 1.
"Dana! Dana! Fight of The Night!"......you could practically hear the fanbase going down

What didn't help Askren's case is how dismissive he was about the idea of a rematch against Lawler after that "win", talking about how he won and it's in the past. God I was so happy when Masvidal flatlined him. Still one of the most satisfying KOs of all time.
ben askren won that 100%
Sean doesnt deserve the hate. He literally put Costa on the backfoot the whole time and honestly looked great. Costa got shut down and Sean closed all of his opening so im not too surprised to fight went like this.
you really could put all of aljo's title run on there
No you can't 💀
@@red_panda_boots name one good defense from him where he came out looking better? Even in the second yan fight he literally just ran and grabbed him for the last two rounds to win 3-2. And that’s his cleanest one. Is beating one armed tj or retired cejudo good wins?
@jedikye video isn't about what you think is a good fight about it's about fights that felt like losses which none of them did
@@red_panda_boots yeah all of those felt like losses
@jedikye so beating Yan and ccc 3-2 feels like a loss? Doesn't matter if tj had 1 arm that's his fault for not pulling out the fight 😂
I train with Jesse Taylor he’s honestly one of the most knowledgeable training partners and coaches I’ve ever had the pleasure working with
I hit the like button before I watched because I knew this channel doesn't disappoint
Every Aljo win after he beat Sandhagen
Jones vs reyes???? Thats an obvious pick.
GSP vs. Johnny Hendricks needed to be on this list
Hendricks was juiced to the gills, if he won, that fight would of still made it to this video
Bruv the iCarly meme just put a smile on my face
6:15 no,it didn’t look like a loss fir Silva. He was clearly toying with him to show maia how much better he was.
Sean promises war and has really gone to “war” about 3 times at most
14:06 The editor did Forrest dirty here. I've rewatched the clip three times to make sure it wasn't a makeAwish kid sitting in the corner.
The kid would have tested positive back then too 😂
You're definitely missing something. Herb didn't stop the Lawler/Askren fight because he thought he lost consciousness or something.
I genuinely want to know who thought Bisping vs Hamil was back and forth.
This was Hamil pushing forward, landing shots and getting takedowns. Bisping fired back but only in short blitzs and none of the shots landed past Hamil's guard.
MMA Right On Point 💯
Almeida vs Derrick Lewis should’ve been on here
Paddy vs Gordan
Can we start doing “By The Numbers” regularly after every PPV again?
Paulo actually tried to fight rockhold lol Paulo literally didn't take a si gle step forward against sean lol if it's anybody fault it's on Paulo for running away
I didn't see many people criticizing Strickland after Costa. Strickland was chasing the whole time and Costa ran away for 25 mins. Strickland isn't an A10 Warthog with a cannon and missiles to destroy fleeing adversaries.
Top 20 mma fighters who drink caffeine
It's definitely a term that not many are familiar with but seeing how it plays out in fights really sheds light on its impact. A win doesn't always feel like a victory, especially with the repercussions that follow.
The problem with Aljo, for me, was the video of him coming home and unwrapping the belt like a swaddled baby to show to his family. You didn't earn that belt. Any person in the entire world could take an illegal shot and "win." I wasn't mad that he got awarded the victory. I was mad that he thought he achieved something.
Not an MMA Fight but i thought its fun to mention
Ali vs holmes, Holmes won decisively but the whole world turned against him, because he was beaten ali with the disease, till this DECADES LATER! and people still overhate and underestimate holmes, because of that fight, he even knew it was such a bad win that he cried after the fight.
Strickland talks like a killer, fights like iCarly then posts videos of him beating up random dudes in the gym...he's a cornball. Instead of running his mouth, he should fight Whittaker instead of thinking he deserves a rematch from beating washed Costa.
"Washed" means the fighter was good before, Costa was never good
Vera v O’Malley 1
Talk about a win that felt like a loss. No matter how many times Sean says he won, his record would care to disagree.
lmao bro O'Malley trolled so hard with that he has people taking him serious about not losing that fight lol
Do the flipped side of this video with guys like Diego Lopes, and tsaryukian who had losses that felt like wins.
Dude I still don't know where the actual fans of Paddy ever were. He must've been one of the most UFC hyped up guys that people never wanted to see
Good video
Aljo definitely faked it and never deserved to be champ
Surprised to not see Tim Kennedy V Yoel "the stool" Romero
How people say Jon Jones undisputed goat but how many times did he test positive for cheating? The second fight with DC was overturned even after so many times the fight got cancelled when DC was ready to fight him and maybe could have won prob would have won at heavyweight
Calling Bisping and Hamill a close fight is just plain insanity
Rockhold kinda owned Strickland with that quote
Damn who knew Bisping fought Mike SERRA lmao typo
Never should a belt change hands on a DQ. If anything:
1.The title should be vacated.
2.Percentage of the former champ's purse should go to the challenger.
3. And the challenger gets an immediate rematch w/ former champ or next contender for vacated title.
leon never came to mind, why not mention reyes vs volkan instead
