this Nomos interaction of yours is like when you message a girl and she ghosts you for a few years but turns out she was in prison so it's all good. We've all been there, so relatable
Among the more unexpected words on a JOMW video: 'This video is sponsored by Nomos' - quite the statement all by itself! Congrats Jody and very well deserved.
I bought my Nomos after watching a factory tour of A Lange and Sohne. The factories are close together. Several of the A Lange and Sohne watchmakers were wearing Nomos watches.
Nomos is one of my favourite brands, and the customer service is as amazing as their watches. I own a Club Campus Amsterdam Limited Edition, but that orange one is amazing.
Super pretty! And I can say that not only from the video, but from the the favt I owe exactly the same one! The color indeed is unique, and is for sure a conversation starter! Highly recommended.
I do love the orange and the California dial. Great choice Jody. My Nomos grail which I purchased in 2022 is the Ahoi Neomatik in Siren Blue - what a fantastic color!! The sport bracelet is super slick and comfortable - but I had my jeweler do the sizing, since those screws are certainly too tiny for me to have to deal with. Nomos make some super cool watches.
Great video as always. Love the look of the bracelet- similar to the original Timex Q series from the 1960s but adjusting it is guaranteed to raise your blood pressure. Also I wonder if small seconds dial wouldn't look better if the hand was colored the same as the 2 hands on the main dial.
I have a 7" wrist too, and I've almost bought this model a couple of times. That is until I've been reminded of the absurd lug to lug length, which instantly puts me off. And besides that, there are so many non-dealbreakers, as mentioned in the review, that stack up to feel like it's not a very good deal. Great review though, always fun to watch!
Welcome to the family! I just got my ref.177 last month and I love it! I hope you enjoy your watch as much as i have mine and then some. I love some of their watches and hate others. Nomos is amazing watch for the money nonetheless. Too bad about not having a display caseback because they have the most nicely finished movements in the 1000-5000 price range. You are right about the lugs. Unnaturally long but that is part of their image and calling card. I made a mock up of mine before pulling the trigger. Some of their watches also have the all dial dinner plate effect to contend with also. 🥂
You indeed could be happier with the “mesh” bracelet which looks similar to your sport bracelet but does not require disassembly to adjust the fit. My Nomos Tangente Sport manual with a 36.5mm case and Nomos’s other bracelet fits fine on my 16cm wrist.
Really fancy a Nomos but fraid I’m in the non California dial camp. Would defiantly try one on first because of the lug to lug although my wrist is the same as yours Jody. My fave was always the Club but need to take a closer look at the range. Top review as always sir. 😁
Awesome, out of all of their watches, I like the Club the most. Been thinking of picking one up for ages! I was only on their website last night scoping out models. Great watch!
Great choice, the orange really pops!! Shame you could not get a exhibition caseback for this model. I love my Nomos Ahoi in Bucherer blue, its amazing quality for your money. The lugs are little smaller on this model aswell, comparing it to the club!!
Fun colour. Perhaps when you get my grail I can enjoy it vicariously since I won't be able to affor to buy it for myself. Congrats on getting your 2019 grail in 2023.
That is fabulous. I too am a complete sucker for orange. A lot of my watches has a flash of orange. I now need to change this up… a flash of another colour with majority orange. I have wanted a California dial for ever. This Nomos would scratch the two itches!! Back to saving!!!
@@JustOneMoreWatchthat’s weird. I just checked. You can spec a display case back for some colours but not others. Wonder if it’s a cock up with the website.
@@JustOneMoreWatch I noticed someone in a Facebook watch group had the orange one with the exhibition case back and he told me you can email Nomos to do a special order. I wound up working with Watches of Switzerland (my local AD) to place the special order. Communication with Nomos was not quick or easy but they are fulfilling the request. The order is placed and I’m hoping to have it by January. I’m excited 😊
This color should be called "Endless Summer Orange." I don't mind the gap between case and spring bars and I'm not normally a fan of bracelets, but that one is gorgeous. Not a criticism, but I've never quite understood Cali dial - is there some history/purpose there, or is it just aesthetic?
I qustioned its existance once and was refered to a Wiki that said it was developed in WW2 by USA to aid low light legibility, but I'm not convinced, when you look at the British "Dirty Dozen" or the German Flieger for comparison.
Don’t know what it is about orange watches. I only own one (Helm Komodo) but it gets a lot of wrist time. There are other orange options I think I would go for like the devil diver rather than the Nomos because they represent better value to me. Great vid Jody. Merci!
That looks great, talking of orange watches, i wish you saw my email the other day as i included a photo of a casio world time that i modified to be completely orange! I can appreciate the sheer amount of emails you recieved though!
I don't want to sound harsh, but the Club Campus watches remind me of a Nomos/Swatch collaboration. Having said that, they are the only ones I like in their catalog.
I would reverse the bracelet direction to sort out the logo alignment. The Club sport neomatik 37 has a really nice bracelet with fitted endlinks that would look great on your watch
I have the previous gen Nomos Club Ref 703, 36mm with a glass sapphire back. I bought the watch, because every time I saw a picture of the watch, I felt like biting it.
I’m also a sucker for orange watches I own several watches just because they’re orange. I also will buy a yellow dial which are very rare once I bought the yellow dial version over the orange and I ended up going back and buying the orange too. I do have a problem. The first step is admitting it, but I’ve never been past step one.
I bought myself a black one of these a few years ago. Can't even remember when I graduated 😂. I do like the watch but I've realised I no longer enjoy winding a watch. 😂. Mine runs at +10s a day.
Summer is coming and that is just the perfect colour 👍 Personally though I would have preferred the seconds to be red to stand out rather than invisible with the same colour. But love the simplicity of Nomos ❤ One day I hope to get one myself...🤞
My grail watch is the Nomos Autobahn with the dark grey/blue dial, but I do also like the club. I've always thought that a blue sub-second hand would go much better with the orange dial though.
Congratulations on the watch. That's a very nice color and it will go with lots of straps from your strap collection. How do you think it does compared to Farer watches? The bright color made me think of their 36mms from the start. The orange rubber is a real looker, though!
That bracelet is so elegant and sharp, I’ve never seen a bracelet done like that before. But the clasp being upside down is a deal breaker for my OCD self 👀
Jody, the color orange is no longer only for diver's watch color anymore. A lot of fine dress watches are orange dials, too. Bring some color to your drab black suits. 😂😮😊👍
I love Nomos, but I like my gen2 orange Monster, admittedly not the same category. A Carolina Blue second hand to match the Arabic outline might be a nice touch.
Recently 36 mm watches have become quite common to wear even for men. So you could have mentioned the 36 mm version as an alternative for smaller wristed guys
Jody its 330am here...but its a Nomos so carry on. It really deserves a glass back for the Zee- Gul look and the proper Roman 4 ,,, hurrah! I wonder if this makes sense when I'm awake and my eyes can focus on the tiny bloody phone
It is a nice enough watch but, in my humble opinion, a few marks away from a grail status. The California dial has always struck me as someone having lost track of their task at hand. Otherwise the simplicity of the dial is rather elegant. The hands fit the dial size quite well. The small second is a worthwhile complication. Are the numerals printed on? They don't appear to be applied but the relative loft/distance from the dial would suggest maybe filled numbers -? At any rate if this is your grail watch cna I talk you out of your Tudor, or maybe the Breitling?
Great video with honest comments. For me, the case design is horrible, and they just about get away with it thanks to the dial design. The long lugs leaves a big gap between the case and the strap/bracelet, where it looks like you're not using original parts. Simply moving the spring bar holes closer to the case fixes this. For the price, it really should have applied markers too. But at you rightly point out, this is marketed as a budget swiss option. Re-assuringly budget, so you don't feel like you've spent too much for your child's graduation, but in actual fact you have. So many better options out there.
this Nomos interaction of yours is like when you message a girl and she ghosts you for a few years but turns out she was in prison so it's all good. We've all been there, so relatable
Ahahaha!
Bit close to the bone there Kyle. 🧐
Most normal Kyle thing to say
Well pal. Be carefull, with a girl, that have been in prison. 😆
As a criminal defense lawyer, I approve of this message
Among the more unexpected words on a JOMW video: 'This video is sponsored by Nomos' - quite the statement all by itself! Congrats Jody and very well deserved.
Also cool to see Nomos sponsoring a video, I haven’t seen that before? Good to see them promoting themselves more not that they need to!
I would have picked the orange dial too. It's a warm, friendly orange. More watchmakers should offer orange dials.
Such a good colour. Not Devil Diver orange, but more subtle.
You were brave enough to criticize the defects, I respect that!
I bought my Nomos after watching a factory tour of A Lange and Sohne. The factories are close together. Several of the A Lange and Sohne watchmakers were wearing Nomos watches.

Put on a perlon or single pass nato and the lugs will appear shorter because the material will fill the gap
Wow that dial with the orange strap looks stellar. Good choice Jody. The lack of an option for display case back is shame though.
Beautiful watch, orange Mido Multifort chrono is one of my favorite daily wears, bring orange to the mainstream!
What's the orange strap at 9:00?
Love it. I bought the electric green 36 model for myself back in May. It hasn't left my wrist since.
Nice one. Enjoy it! (You clearly are)
Good points on the gap between the bracelet and the case, and the teeny-tiny bracelet link screws.
I love the enthusiasm and I’m excited you got your grail.
I normally don't like the "California dial". But, with Nomos's minimalist design, this model could be an exception. Thanks for the review, Jody!
Love Nomos! That gorgeous orange would make a great gift for a Dutch friend 😁
That's nice. I like a thin watch. I can live with hand wind especially without a date.

The siren blue is a killer colour.
Thanks Jodi! I have the same watch and love it!
Got ya ! I bought it last summer. The white version. Beautiful watch!
Congratulations Jody!
Kinda like what happens when a Timex Weekender reads a bauhaus design book. That orange is such a happy colour. Like therapy on your wrist.

I don’t understand how, but Nomis designs are just gorgeous
I've seen a lot of bulkier dive watches with smaller lug-to-lug. Nomos does exaggerate in that dimension.
love thebrand but hate the dial...
Just love Nomos design

Owner of Future Orange here to brag. I also spend a bit more on a display caseback! Now that’s a beauty! It is such a strap monster on nato.
I think the lug length suits the watch. A little pricy for what it is but still a nice lookin watch. Thanks for sharing it.
You dont have the option of a open case back? I ordered mine with just that a few weeks ago.
Love it! I ordered the exact same watch in March and haven’t received it yet. I requested a exhibition caseback so it is going to take a while 😅
How did you manage to get the caseback Jim? It isn;t an option on their website, I am jealous!

A lovely watch. I agree that California dials look better after dark, but only if they lack lume. My OCD doesn't tolerate them!
Agreed. Having no lume would be an improvement.
California dials also look better when wearing a very long sleeve shirt or jacket over the dial.

Can you get the orange strap from Nomos. I’ve had a look on their website and I can’t find it. Do I have to look elsewhere. Thanks in advance. Matt
Watching this wearing my Nomos Club. Such a great brand!
Stunning watch. Any colour. Better with the leather strap tho. Thx!!
