The .366 AP observation is actually pretty spot on, from what I’ve read guns chambered in this cartridge ARE smooth bore. The 209 is actually classified as a shotgun in russia because you have to own a shotgun for so many years before you can apply to own a rifle. .366 was the workaround for that so you could have a legal way of shooting a more accurate, rifle like cartridge. Got bored and looked it up one day 😂
To add an anecdotal event, I was running a night raid solo and killed 2 out of three in a trio running 7.62 PS. On the end screen, I had 500ish damage dealt, and 450 blocked by armour. If I had been running BP, I probably could've killed the first two waaaay faster and been able to get the third. I would rate it as "fine", you can still kill people questing, but it's going to be a war of attrition against anyone wearing better gear, which leaves a lot more room for you to get killed

I guess my pushback is... Sure, going to the biggest PVP hotspots, better is always, well, better. But all-around, I can't see 7.62x39 PS being an issue against scavs and players in most other non-major PVP areas, who are probably going to rarely be using higher than level 4, which PS can shred and also has decent fragmentation chance. Overall, I have to see it as a decent all-around meta option, with VERY high availability (can be bought from Fence).
I love the 366 guns. 209 with long 10rounders as loud DMR with 70+ ergo. Or sneaky with the 215. Early wipe I use Eko with the 209 and FMJ with the 215. 200m+ is easy to hit, if you get used to the bullet drop.
Was it your intent to subtly demonstrate unimportance of armor in this game by wearing class 2 paper bodyarmor and no head armor whatsoever? When I stop to think about it, I recall that roughly >80% of successfull fights/kills I had were due to positioning advantage/first spot advantage/better aim/first shot and list goes on. Rarely I notice that my armor had decisive impact on the fight. Very often my encounter with other player ends either with me killing him without him landing a single shot, or me suddenly dropping dead to a bush wookie or a man in the dark corner XD So can you also do a breakdown video of the role of armor/headgear in the game or mb it's already on ur channel? Also 10/10 content as always
@@taeyeoff don’t do such a Video!around ~ 0.6-.07 we got an no armor meta an ppl played the vpo 136 with reddot and 30 rounds of BP… there was nothing to loot. It’s was completely worthless to get in with gear because you don’t get anything out of it. The good average was ~100k per run ( there was no FM) and the pvp brought you : 136 with 30 rounds of bp… or a mosin

You said you .366 feels like a smoothbore, because it is. I did not know about this cartridge until Tarkov. It is a Russian civilian gun, with a smooth bore so it is classified as a shotgun in Russia, and is not restricted/taxed/or something. I was very pleased when I learned that, it feel like the AR pistol brace of Russian 'shotguns' lol
I know this is an old comment, but just to clarify for anyone else that see it. The guns are not completely smooth bore. They use what's called paradox rifling. Only the last section of the barrel is rifled. In an actual shotgun this is a compromise between a fully rifle barrel for shooting slugs and a smooth bore barrel for firing shot. The last bit of rifling gives just enough stabilization for slugs without over spinning shot rounds which would result in a donut type pattern. It's not ideal for either round type, but gives a certain degree of flexibility.
The latter, its absolutely useless for all but a specific and very ratty play style(Or if you are fighting timmies who cant shoot straight). Its basically only going to help prevent being constantly one tapped by scavs for being naked.
@@jaydenshepard7928 or u can use it as budget armor for pvp, use it for the damage reduction and that alone and take it to something like labs where armor isn’t going to save you most of the time, I’ve had great success running the shitty white armors and it’s definitely one of my favorites personally
I have yet to see a streamer with low frame issues. They already pre position their weapons (some using audio cues) and it if you have tools that lag to get higher fps (new 4000 tech but other add as well) then you are still lagging in the shootout.

I got one-tapped at close range in the thorax with a level 4 ceramic armor at full durability on.

How are you able to play at 50 fps....It feels laggy for me anything around 70-60 fps even with G-SYNC.
