It's kinda bizarre how these 3 are considered "unforgivable", but plants, potions, especially love potions, and spells that can, and will kill someone much more gruesomely and violently are totally cool. That's like saying shooting someone is forbidden, but stabbing, neck breaking, and burying someone alive, are fine.
Love potions were… uh, definitely a horrible idea. How the hell did Hogwarts not crack down higher security on love potions? Everyone knew Romilda Vane was trying to sneak one to Harry, and she directly got Ron, but she had no consequences? That seems like a jail sentence in real life as attempted r***. One of those things that I didn’t really think about when I read these at like 8 years old, but looking back at it now, it’s pretty bad. Not that different from the Imperius Curse, no? Fred and George probably shouldn’t be selling those. And yeah I get that Rowling wanted to show the good guys were “better” than the bad guys for not using Avada Kedavra, but the good guys managed to kill a ton of Death Eaters without using it, which just opens up more plot holes. Although Lupin did say to “shoot for the kill” to Harry once.
I think the idea is moreso that killing anyone by any means will cause you legal trouble, but USING the killing curse at all, outside of an instructional setting like fake Moody did, is immediately punishable, even if no one got hit, or even remotely got hit. For example, if you were just on the street and shot a killing curse into the sky, you would immediately get jail time.
Unforgivable cursers are: -Unblockable by any spell -By casting them you have to mean to control someone/cause unbelievable pain/kill someone. No other spell or plant needs this level of dedication and they all can be blocked. That's why these are Unforgivable You can for example fight off Imperius but you can not block spell if casted on you
It took me a while to realize this, but the reason why “Moody” asked Longbottom to see the Cruciartus curse it’s because it wasn’t moody, but Barry Crouch Jr. The same person who had used the curse on Neville’s parents. He was doing it to show that he could. Barty Jr. Was a good teacher, but a terrible human being.
I always felt that Memory Charms should be Unforgivables too. Erasing and manipulating people's memories, or even planting false memories, that sounds like something on par with Imperio.
The Memory Charms are not placed in the Unforgivable Curses list because the Ministry has to use it on muggles in case they notice any suspicious magical activity.
The addition of Avada Kedavra to the story was one of the worst decisions in my opinion. The concept is cool, an unblockable curse that kills you instantly, but the lack of limitations means that every villain only uses the same green beam, which ruins any creativity in magical duels. The reason Dumbledore VS Voldermort is the best duel in the franchise is because it's one of the only fights that isn't just two guys shooting lasers at each other.
So you want two wizard guys trying to kill eachother just shooting random lasers at eachother, or either large water bubbles and self controlled fire snakes, Sure that's cool but, hang on I'm too lazy to delete this comment so I'm just doing this.
In the movies, they definitely spam Avada Kedavra. But in the books, the bad guys don’t really use it all that often (except the one Death eater in HBP). The reason is, using an Unforgivable in the middle of battle is difficult. It takes a lot of concentration and anger, not to mention you have to be a pretty strong wizard to use it in the first place. Plus there’s the collateral damage element. Going back to HBP, the Death Eater (I think Rowle) was firing killing curses everywhere, and accidentally killed a Death Eater rather than one of the good guys. It also seems like the easiest spell to dodge, so maybe it shoots slowly? Hermione, Ginny, and others directly dodged it, whereas the other spells tend to connect pretty frequently. I think the strategy in the high level duels is to shoot a lot of jinxes/hexes, then once their guard is lowered/they’re injured, use Avada Kedavra. That’s what most Death Eaters did against Order members. But I also see your point. I think one big change that could’ve been made is make Avada Kedavra block able and slow. That would make it so it’s still a super dangerous curse, but an on-guard wizard can always block it. It would give a lore reason as to why the bad guys don’t just spam it 24/7.
Honestly Mad Eye teaching a bunch of teenagers using the 3 unforgivable curses at once after he vowed to only use them when necessary should probably have alerted someone.
I don't think Harry and Dumbledore apparating in the movie is that bad, in the book Dumbledore allows the students to apparate in the great hall to practice for their exam so it's not too unbelievable that Dumbledore can apparate inside Hogwarts
Nah, it’s not about rules. The castle has enchantments and charms which prohibit apparating within the walls or grounds. They lift these spells during those lessons.
@@anonymousperson8475there’s no way they wouldn’t just have setup the spells to prohibit apparating from the outside in and inside out but allow you do to it inside the walls just fine.
I mean, Dumbledore IS both the headmaster of a literal enchanted castle, along with being the best wizard alive. As headmaster he could have the magical version of administrative privilege. Or, maybe he's just THAT good at magic and can just hax his way through the no-teleport fields.

Meant to ask this for a while now but since when is Hogwarts Legacy canon? Jk wasn't involved in the making process and I haven't seen anything abt her approving it.
Even though the Hogwarts Mystery and Magic don't count, I can explain the unforgivable curse was used in Hogwarts Mystery and Magic Awakening. Professor Rakepick uses the cruciatus curse on the dark wizard to demonstrate Jacob’s sibling curse effect. Merula uses the cruciatus curse on Professor Rakepick, but it doesn't work. Professor Rakepick uses the cruciatus curse on Merula but is stopped by Jacob’s sibling and other students. Rakepick uses the killing curse on Ben Copper, but Rowan Khanna jumps in the way and sacrifices their lives in the process. An unknown wizard uses the imperious curse on Rowan to attack his friends but snaps out of it by Ben using the knockback jinx. Professor Elspeth MacGillony uses the imperious curse on the Nifflers for practice and uses it on the students to enter the Great Lake to find a magical crown on her. Bly uses the imperious curse on Jakub Gorski to help him steal what was thought to be a powerful wand and smuggle a dark wizard into the school as he was an Animagus as a lemur.
In case you're trying to fit Legacy into the regular canon, the "older Gaunt brother" could be Marvolo! We know Ominis is Tom's great-uncle, so that throry wouldn't be far off if it's wrong.

I have the Play script novel for "The Cursed Child" and it kind of strays away from the principals and the facts that we get from the Harry Potter books and movies; for one thing Severus Snape was supposed to still be dead before the events of both altered versions of Scorpios Malfoy's present and it never made sense that Voldemort would get jiggy with one of his Deatheaters and on top of that, the time travel thing for a story set for Harry's future made it just as confusing and also the fact that Hermione Granger had all of the time turners destroyed well before the "supposed" events of "The Cursed Child"; the fandom video makes better sense in how ASP's story unfolds following the Epilogue of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", we should all understand by now that the Playwrights had the new story all wrong; they wouldn't listen to J.K. Rowling's ideas. I am still OK with the story, I just wish they had it written as they were told. Even though "The Cursed Child" was supposed to be made cannon, it actually is not, I would only count the fandom video version to be the actual Harry Potter cannon; I am not talking about the ones that had the non-audio 3D animated reenactment of the first two acts of the play.
now that i realize it, he never died he just beacme imoblized and due to the imobilization his most loyal death eaters fought to not only keep him alive but to also use a cauldron so they can make a solution which would revitalize his body granting him flesh and bringing him back from death as the Avada Kedvara curse did kill the soul within him but due to endless life via horcrux he was rendered feeble. The chance he was revived from death is low but the chance he was meirly made imobile and unable to die then briught back would make more sense. if he did truly die , what would end up happening is his soul shard could be revived again , but it cant it never was. which is why when he dies finally hes gone forever

I really enjoy looking and knowing more about the books and maybe possibly the Hogwarts Legacy game maybe in the future?
You should look into reading the books, or at least watching the movies. I imagine a lot of it is spoiled for you, so I’d get why you wouldn’t want to invest the months on reading the 7 books, but have a movie marathon one week and enjoy! The movies are pretty great even if most of us do prefer the books.

I agree the boats are really good and the movies are really pretty, but I have both I have the movies and the books I just know don’t get mad at me when I say this I just prefer looking up things and watching videos on the Harry Potter series, that’s more of my cup of tea, even though some people don’t even do that I just do that because it gives me more knowledge of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Legacy game that I’m currently playing now again please don’t get mad at me for my answer, but I really do agree with you with all you have to say.
I kind of liked how in the chamber of secrets movie, Lucius Malfoy was actually going to use the Avarda spell on harry after he had him set dobby free. But I didn’t realise that until the later films, realising what that spell actually would have done
Here’s a Reason why I think Rookwood is not actually a strong wizard, cuz he was too scared to fight Ron and George and Fred and Percy
But still Fred or George 😢
#TheCursedChildIsNotCanoninAnyWay
Don't worry Morgan, because that play isn't canon in any way for all the reasons you pointed out
I don't get how love potions aren't outlawed, considering how immoral and wrong they are.
They kinda are, but they are legal if the person gives consent (it makes s** more fun i guess lol)
Still waiting for the Slytherin and Hufflepuff rankings lol.
I like this idea of a video and the video itself
At least Krum can be spared, due to proving that he was under the imperious curse.
You should do a video ranking every single Harry Potter chapter
19:07 that bonus death was the Minister of Magic Pius Thicknesse
“One way trip to Azkaban”… only 5 percent ever charged.
Hearing Evan Rosier 's name as a Marauders can makes me very sad😫 Also having to 're live Lily and James' death
Finally a Harry Potter video
Another great video as always! 😊 Thanks Morgan.
This was a great video! :)
10:54 "unforgiavble curse hattrick" nice one
I love u used hogwarys legacy logo of the cursed spells
Curse child aka the fourth unforgivable Curse
Saying the movies aren’t cannon is wild
They aren't. It's a fact.
@ 😑
Bro “ the unforgivable curse hat trick” got me
Pls make a video on wizards vs muggles, if there was a war. Like if magic could stop a nuclear bomb etc, that would be awesome! Love all your videos btw
The cursed child is a unforgettable curse
'The Cursed Child, Unfortunately' Such wise words
Killing a toddler makes you the biggest villain of all time I still can’t believe that they did it to a baby who did nothing wrong and deserved a better life 😢
Morgan I love your videos 😁😁
Meant to ask this for a while now but since when is Hogwarts Legacy canon? Jk wasn't involved in the making process and I haven't seen anything abt her approving it.
It's not canon, however, I think Joanna said that if you want you can make it canon
Yay, you’re back! 😊
Hey Morgan love your vids
Who else notices the old man fingers at 13:55
If the game is considered cannon then my character has used all 3 about 500+ times 🤣🤣
Does anyone think that what happened to the Riddles be a part of a true crime podcast because of how mysterious thier deaths were 🤔 4:58
Great video once again !!
Awesome video. ^^
Amazing video I’ve been wanting to it for months 😊Also happy holidays
Love your videos and how they explain the lore in Harry Potter 👍
"The Cursed child unfortionitly...."
HAHAHAHAHAHA
I never realized Harry Potter used the imperius in that one moment, or at least i forgot
Nice to see that Protego Diabolica is forgivable
Very nice video Movieflame!
Thanks for the video, enjoyed it.
Day one of asking for Percy Jackson timeline
Unforgivable Curse hat trick, I love it
Always wondered if the curses have a connection to the Tale of the Three Brothers.
Antioch - Avada Kadavra
Cadmus - Crucio
Ignotus - Imperio
i just love how this guy hates the cursed child so much xD
Love it❤❤❤
Am I a true potterhead? ⚡️
I have about 23 Harry Potter items..
I have all the games..
I have a lot of wands…
I have watched all of the movies TWICE….
And read all the books….
I just don’t understand the laws and how the spell Molly used to kill Bellatrix is perfectly legal
That’s simple we don’t know what spell she used but it wasn’t one of the unforgivable curses that’s what we do know so that’s why she didn’t get to Azkaban
@@mattsultimategamingandrevi8249Even if it was illegal, they probably would have given Molly a free pass.
@@rafaelmartinez58 probably
Love your vids man!
5:05 tom didnt use the killing curse there. he poisoned her
Missed you man
The Cursed Child was made not long after the 8th movie of HARRY POTTER but it was set in the 2020s
Even though "The Cursed Child" was supposed to be made cannon, it actually is not, I would only count the fandom video version to be the actual Harry Potter cannon; I am not talking about the ones that had the non-audio 3D animated reenactment of the first two acts of the play.
now that i realize it, he never died he just beacme imoblized and due to the imobilization his most loyal death eaters fought to not only keep him alive but to also use a cauldron so they can make a solution which would revitalize his body
granting him flesh and bringing him back from death as the Avada Kedvara curse did kill the soul within him but due to endless life via horcrux he was rendered feeble. The chance he was revived from death is low but the chance he was meirly made imobile and unable to die then briught back would make more sense.
if he did truly die , what would end up happening is his soul shard could be revived again , but it cant it never was. which is why when he dies finally hes gone forever
