Great video. I just found a piece of R J Horner (1890) sideboard in a storage unit I bought at auction. The big cabinet doors are different locks than the drawers... and no keys of course. Gonna make em now! =] Where do I buy those nice brace blanks?
Good job. Do you coat the key in some sort of finish to even out the surface? I think it would've been cool to add another slot or two in the dead zone just for aesthetics. Just a thought. (but extra work) Thanks for sharing.
The Lock Picking Lebowski it's brass so it will darken back up pretty quick :) and yeah it would be cool but unnecessary, would make it harder if customer came back needing another
to get a better handle on how long it would take "me" to make a key could you tell us how long it took you to make this key. (thanks for the good info and thanks for sharing)
Marty Hastings hmmm I can’t say for sure exact time on this one but it can take between 20-40 minutes for most keys (depending on lever count, key being used, tools available to cut/grind/finish a key) Thanks for watching!

Very nice to see the process - thank you. Did you actually look out for impressioning marks at the end?
Potti314 yep, even in hand and visible, the marks can clue you in to what's needing touching up. Thanks for watching!

Do you sell the key blanks? I really like the one you're using but I can't find anything like it online.
We do not sell blanks.
