- Murphy, the pastor at dReam Center Church of Atlanta, said the church needs to stop speaking foreign language when trying to communicate the message of the gospel.
Be not comformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
I was thinking that verse but the thing is times are changing and so is culture. So we have to see beyond what we see. God reaches out to different people in different ways

What your conviction and what God’s word says has to line/match up. I understand you are trying to relate to the world, but the Church can’t become “worldly”.
Stop all this “wealth, worldly, feel good, do whatever you feel” teaching. Stick to the word of God, don’t add-take away from the word. No the children are going crazy because “men” whom God made the “head” of the household is absent for various reasons. I’m not a perfect Christian but neither am I a Bishop. Many are called but few are chosen. Consider the cost, to whom much is given much is required. Just my personal opinion.

Are you going to “redeem” the strip club next because before I got right with God that’s where I heard all of these songs? This is entertainment not church. Just because you offer a watered down version that attracts people who left the church and it’s standards before doesn’t make it right. This is not a criticism of those people because at one point left too. This is a criticism of the wolf in sheep’s clothing who looks to be doing quite well for himself when there are homeless and hungry and incarcerated in his community during the advent season.

Nothing can be full of the Holy Ghost and still Swag & Surf and Walk it out. Darkness cannot contain the Holy Spirit. People can only be delivered and brought out of darkness by the Holy Spirit. To be singing “ I’m on hypnotic, a bad girl beside me, her friend behind me…”Does not correlate with scripture and the word. Furthermore, if a person is on hypnotic with a bad girl, besides them and her friend behind you, you all are not in the presence of the Holy Spirit, but you are in the covering of a different spirit. There are only two sides- Right and Wrong. God and Satan. Therefore, this was bringing a different mindset that was influenced by another spirit, which is not of God.
Obviously, that person can be delivered and set free, but being Lukewarm won't do. The whole point of being a pastor or christian is to separate from worldly things, and that ain't it! Rather than a place regarded by some as holy, this throw-down should have occurred in a different setting. It is not acceptable to do certain things.

You can't justify this. He is not prophetic. This is manipulation through and through. The greatest change occurs when servants of God learn how to keep the focus on God and not on themselves. Pastor Murphy and many of his cohorts would greatly benefit from attending a retreat exclusively for clergy where they can receive counseling and take the time to reflect. It's a safe space reserved for pastors.

Bishop Murphy goes on here to talk about the "liberty and the freedom" that was in the room at that moment. He seems to be implying that that "liberty" led to what we saw in that 30-second clip.
It is possible to take "liberty" -- too far, just ask the Children of Israel, who also got caught up in their moment. They took their moment so far that they ended up BUILDING a GOLDEN CALF, as a result! (Exodus 32:1-8) So, the Bible admonishes us to LEARN from our history, experiences, and past behaviors (Romans 15:4).
And finally, here's what the Bible says about HOW we are to use and apply our "liberties":
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13).
