Bat hibernation

This video shows a colony of Townsend Big Eared Bats in hibernation. It teaches about the difference between hibernation, and sub-hibernation. It talks about the effects of abnormally warm winter weather on the hibernation cycle of the bats.
NOTE! It is very important that cave explorers do NOT disturb hibernating bats! Interrupting their hybernation cycle can kill them. The section of this video where I am talking close to the bats, I am actually whispering. For the video, I boosted the volume as loud as possible so you could hear me during that shot. But onsite, it was a near silent whisper.
