This is my wolves favourite video. Even just the sound makes them happy as they join in a gorgeous chorus of magical howls! These were wolf cubs doomed to death when I found them on the edge of my property. One of them even lost a leg because of his, injuries. The two brothers survives against very low odds. Today, Mighty Rayzar and Ravenous Rotter are, by far, my best friends. No human could ever be this close a friend. I question if even today's mother and child bond is this strong, given the decay of civilization. They will never harm me. I will never harm them. I am in constant contact with two wolf experts for their health care and behavioral care. Unfortunately, part of having these two boys is the fact that I had to sterilize them. They will never produce cubs, which is a heartbreak. But it beats them being euthanised when they were just a month and a half old. I will love them forever, even far after they have died.
Every night I always hear wolves howling. Their howling sounds like a lullaby and they always put me to sleep really fast. Wolves are such interesting creatures!
It’s so interesting watching behaviors like this in wild animals. It’s obvious that it’s very similar to human forms of mostly involuntary communication, such as laughing or smiling.

There’s something so primordial about the effect hearing that has on me, it literally gives me goose bumps, like it connects with an ancient part of my brain that thinks “fear and danger” when I hear that howling. I was stationed on an army base in Alaska that had wolves and we would hear distant howling at night sometimes if we were doing field training. It always made me feel an instinctual fear.

I have husky and wolf mix and listening to these causes them to go nuts but I love it! Absolutely the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. I'm sure my neighbors hate it but I can't go to sleep without this howling
My Border Collies could howl too. They'd howl when the ambulances fire engines, and police cars rode by with their sirens were and other dogs in my neighbourhood would join in too.

This is such a beautiful sound !! I love and respect the way they live and live in a family loyal to each other . I always said if I were given a choice and I had to pick between a group of humans or a pack of wolves, I would pick the pack of wolves and wouldn't think twice once you gain their respect they are forever loyal unlike most humans!! There is a saying I really like ( feed me to the wolves I will come back leading the pack)
they are amazing but against something like a bear they would need more seriouse weaponry to protect their cubs and thhemselves bears are such a useless ugly lumps filled with tons of fat that few things can penetrate and brainless aggression
I have a half dozen strays ranging from big black shepherd and a big pitbull to herd dogs to minipins... they all pack up and howl together several times a day. I always let them do it, tell them that they sing good. They have different voices and they don't just howl. Sometimes I start it and we'll sing together, lol... its pretty cute. They will howl to other groups of howling dogs that are miles away... might look like a 20lb minipin on the outside but inside its a dire wolf...

I play this outside at night on a loud speaker whenever the coyotes come in close by to our home and start calling to each other. Works every time. They hear a pack of their only predators and they get really quiet and head for other parts.
