Here at the Reign podcast we have been OBSESSED with Issa since we watched her TV show, Insecure. If you aren’t familiar with one of the greatest TV shows ever, it follows a directionless millennial woman trying to navigate life and not only did Issa star in it she also created and produced it. Issa can truly do it all and she’s proving that again by taking on the role of President Barbie, in the most anticipated Barbie movie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling!
There are many reasons I am SO excited that Issa is joining us today, but one of them is because she has done everything off her own back.
She started out making shows on TH-cam, got a HBO contract, created two incredibly successful TV shows, and in the process became the first black woman to create and star in a premium cable series. AND now she has her own production company, Hoorae Media and a forty-mill
Issa is a true role model for making your dreams a reality, and I can not wait for you to hear her talk in this episode about everything from tackling the patriarchy to leaning into vulnerability.
