There is an in-year admission policy in every school, but the chance of getting an in-year place at a grammar school obviously is very slim, especially those very popular ones. Almost all grammar schools have passed their deadlines for admission test registration. However, I have got in touch with two grammar schools recently. If you are serious in bringing your child to attend the admission test in one of the grammar schools in UK in coming September, please email me as soon as possible. ngkwansee@gmail.com
I am sorry that I am not familiar with the schools in Scotland. As far as I know, there are no grammar schools in Scotland, but of course that doesn't mean that there are no good schools in Scotland. I am sure there are. The universities in Scotland also provide excellent education. There isn't a perfect school in the world, of course. And there are non-grammar schools which are doing brilliantly AND there are grammar schools which leave a lot to be desired.

插班文法中學一般都要考試, 但考試只係用來衡量能否將該申請者的名字放於waiting list 上, 並不代表考試達標就一定有位收您。非文法中學一般不用考試就可以排隊等插班。 私立中小學的學費並沒有分本地生或海外生收費。大家同一個價錢。大學才有分本地生和海外生收費。

是的. GRAMMAR SCHOOL 唔易考, 其實最好早些來到英國的小學就讀, 在英語環境中, 英文和英式數學的進步會好快, 總比一到步就要去考英國的中學入學試好, 因為有時間準備.

視乎學校的收生準則, 有些文法中學有sibling criteria, 有些沒有. Partially Selective 的文法中學通常都有sibling criteria.

1) 如果2021年9月1日已經係13歲, 咁會插班讀YEAR 9. 讀一般公立中學無GRAMMAR SCHOOL 咁大壓力, 當然插班的結果唔到我們預計, 同區哪間學校有位就會收.
2) 英國沒有留班這回事, 除非有特別醫生證明信或心理學家證明信, 否則都一樣要按年齡入讀. 所以姨甥13歲都係會讀YEAR 9. 英國有少量14+ 的另類公立學校, YEAR 10 入讀, 教一些實用學科, 我遲下會有VIDEO 介紹. 您可以考慮那些學校.

報名考試時就唔理您 catchment, 不過到10月交升中派位表時, 就要小心是否住址位於某grammar schools 的catchment 內, 因為有唔少Grammar schools都會對 catchment 有要求. 一定要check 清楚個別 grammar schools 的admissions policy.

YES. 但係請查看每間partially selective school 的往年收生數據作參考, 就知道怎樣才算是夠 "近"。

我就系住 Hertfordshire, 個仔準備考 grammar school。我們所謂 partially selective 系因為有 sibling rules。像 home secretary 出身的 Watford Grammar Girls, 只要哥哥(Watford grammar Boys)姐姐考進去，弟妹機會就好高。
其他的學位很多時一半分給附近指定的小學學生去考，或家住學校最近的20個學生才有機會被派位。

整體學位太少， 多數Hertfordshire Grammar school 的學位只給
