Hi from Australia, I spent many years running scallop boats in Victoria Australia we use a sled cage arrangement we call a dredge that rides 4 inches above the bottom the tooth bar tickles yhe scallops out of the sand and small shells pass through the mesh with other debris when hauling the dredge tipper emptys the scallops onto a sorting platform at waste height for easy sorting there on no handling of hooks and wire its just winch up and down you can find a video on utube scallop fishing bass Strait and Tasmania
The drag is not clearing the stern well enough and put the wire spooling from the top I see two accidents waiting to happen. Good luck out there guys no offense guys just a friendly heads up.
@@dennismoore9147 Chances are you could run the boat like that a lifetime. I wouldn't want to see the sparkle taken from a young mans eyes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

yes , first thing I saw , wire spooling from the bottom , deadly
That is odd I have never seen wire spooling on a winch from the bottom like that
the douglas winches like seaford boats used 1 side wire spooled from bottom (stb side)
