I can’t tell much of a difference between the two 🧐 although, the M100 is brighter than M6. Thats what I’ve noticed on some vloggers using M6. their videos seem pretty darker... Did you hear about the canon m series 4K cam coming out?

Watched this...went to Best Buy to check out M100 and honestly, I thought I was going to drop and break that tiny thing. Portable & discreet? Absolutely...but it has NO grip and put a telephoto lens on that thing and there's a good chance it's getting dropped. I don't have big hands or anything but no grip on expensive tech is a no-no for me. Great video though...thank you!

But your face on M6 is darker compare to m100's and m100's focus is faster.in fact, it depends on every spot. If you go to a bit darker place, m100 stands out but if you go to clearer background, the m6 is better. Plus m6 captures every noise.. it's very sensitive but I prefer the m100.

M6 have much better preamps for sure. I owned m100 since 2018 and i love that little camera but are thinking about upping it just a little to m6 because of that audio and better grip. They costs about the same now.
Diana Pereira Canon M6 will be better for taking photos in my honest opinion because the Canon M6 has a bunch of dials that makes changing settings quick. But quality wise, it’s pretty close.

One of the primary reasons I dodged the Sony a5100 was because of its infamous overheating problem, so when I saw that notification I screamed, "NOOOOO" haha! I love giving the real thoughts and talk when I talk about equipment! And if you are just vlogging with the Canon M100 then it’s perfect as long as you don’t want a external mic like a Rode VideoMic Pro. If you want a external mic then look at the Canon M6, or the really good Canon M50.

Still chasing 4 k from Canon? No rush - good focus is far more important and Canon have got it right after all. Mainstream 4 k - not happening most people don't even have their huge screens set up to show HD quality as good as it should!
Agreed. If you didn't care for the mic input on the M5 and M6 then the M100 is great! I personally would ditch the G7XII for the M100 if the lenses were smaller. The M100 is defiantly a better buy then the G7XII too.

I've been watching a lot of your vids and they're all very informative, but I am in a bit of dilemma and thought maybe you can help The m10 is priced at 400usd here and the m3 is priced at 500usd here in the Philippines. I was wondering which would work well for photography of everyday stuff to even "DSLR-like" photographs. considering the specs (iso shutter speed exposure etc etc low light capability etc.) and all that, which would be better to buy as my first and probably last camera? Or should I dish out a few more and purchase the m100 (600usd)?
If you are using the camera for photo then the M3 will be fine. There are many people that are happy with the M3 for photo. But if you plan to do any vlogs or videos then save for the M100. Because the focus on the M100 is beast.

JomariGuitar TV it’s the limitations of the M100. There are only a few camera that don’t have any limitations. It’s usually implemented to make more expensive or professional options more appealing most likely. If you need continuous recording at this price then look at a actual video camera. Probably won’t be the same quality but it’s the trade off at this price point in the game.
If you can buy the M6 I suggest getting the M6 for a like 200 or 300 more. But the M100 works just as well for only $500 but doesn’t have a mic in port for external mic. So if you don’t care about a external mic later down the road the M100 is a steal!
They need to. I've been saying this for a while! If they put 4K ability into say a mirrorless camera like the M5 or M6 they would sell like hot cakes... But then again I don't know of any sub $1000 4K camera that doesn't experience some type of overheating issue. Maybe Canon can be heros... Canon are you listening???
Ah. I forgot about Panasonic. I heard good things about their 4K options. I personally would go with Sony's before Panasonic though. I have a A7S on the way to play with.
I’m very happy with it, but I use about 1/10th of it’s features. It needs better glass for a real photographer, next (Spring) will be a longer / zoom lens.
Oh yeah. The new Canon mirrorless cameras feature dual pixel!! The M5, M6, and M100 all focus real fast and accurate. Focusing is defiantly not an issue for these cameras!

The Canon M100 does not have a mic input. You could always use the blue yeti and record audio with a recorder then sync the audio with the M100 video in post.
+Hfzr 04 out of those three I would recommend the M6. But now that the Canon M50 is out I highly recommend the M50 over the M6 if you don’t have the M6.

the M6 is the dark big version of the M100 but they are pretty the same. Just the dial and in mic jack.

wheeholic moo m100 is just fine for snapshots. You won’t really gain anything with the M6.

M6 has a better image. Better color, sharper. M100 is ok. M6 also has more options/easier to adjust for more video and photos effects.

can m100 record 1080p 30fps in full capacity of your sd card ? cause allowed recording in 1080p 60fps is only 10mins.
In 30fps it’s 20mins or 4gb whichever comes first.

maybe the 4k is still stopped because of the big size of the sensor, sony has overheating problems; panasonic too in their gx850...

I honestlywanna take photos for my album to remember memories however I need one core feature, how is each camera in regards to sports mode? Do they take good motion photos?
They both do well. Shoot manual. Mount fast aperture lenses.

No. None of the mirrorless cameras as of right now are clean output.

M6 is the best for the money. M5 defiantly is more photogenic but expensive.

Whiskeyfox yes. Both cameras.
You aren’t the first one to mention it. So I watched it again. You can see the digital stabilization in effect multiple times. This is interesting. 🤔

They shoot video similarly but the M6 has more convenience dials and a hot shoe and a mic input.

Hi is m100 compatible with blue yeti mic
The Canon M100 does not have a mic input. You could always use the blue yeti and record audio with a recorder then sync the audio with the M100 video in post.

+Hfzr 04 out of those three I would recommend the M6. But now that the Canon M50 is out I highly recommend the M50 over the M6 if you don’t have the M6.
